4:3For the time that is passid is ynow to the wille of hethene men to be endid, whiche walkiden in letcheries, and lustis, in myche drinking of wyn, in vnmesurable etyngis, and drynkyngis, and vnleueful worschiping of mawmetis.
4:4In whiche now thei ben astonyed, in which thing thei wondren, for ye rennen not togidere `in to the same confusioun of letcherie, and blasfemen.
4:5And thei schulen yyue resoun to hym, that is redi to deme the quyke and the deed.
4:6For whi for this thing it is prechid also to deed men, that thei be demed bi men in fleisch, and that thei lyue bi God in spirit.
4:7For the ende of alle thingis schal neiye. Therfor be ye prudent, and wake ye in preyeris;
4:8bifore alle thingis haue ye charite ech to other in you silf algatis lastynge; for charite couerith the multitude of synnes.
4:9Holde ye hospitalite togidere with out grutching;
4:10ech man as he hath resseyued grace, mynystringe it in to ech othere, as good dispenderis of the manyfold grace of God.
4:11If ony man spekith, speke he as the wordis of God; if ony man mynystrith, as of the vertu which God mynystrith; that God be onourid in alle thingis bi Jhesu Crist oure Lord, to whom is glorie and lordschip in to worldis `of worldis.
4:12Amen. Moost dere brytheren, nyle ye go in pilgrymage in feruour, that is maad to you to temptacioun, as if ony newe thing bifalle to you;
4:13but comyne ye with the passiouns of Crist, and haue ye ioye, that also ye be glad, and haue ioye in the reuelacioun of his glorie.
4:14If ye ben dispisid for the name of Crist, ye schulen be blessid; for that that is of the onour, and of the glorie, and of the vertu of God, and the spirit that is his, schal reste on you.
4:15But no man of you suffre as a mansleere, ethir a theef, ether cursere, ethir a disirere of othere mennus goodis;
4:16but if as a cristen man, schame he not, but glorifie he God in this name.
4:17For tyme is, that doom bigynne at Goddis hous; and if it bigynne first at vs, what ende schal be of hem, that bileuen not to the gospel?
4:18And if a iust man vnnethe schal be sauid, where schulen the vnfeithful man and the synnere appere?

4:1For as moche as christ hath suffred for vs in the flesshe arme youre selves lyke wyse with the same mynde: for he which suffereth in the flesshe ceasith fro synne
4:2that he hence forwarde shuld lyve as moche tyme as remayneth in the flesshe: not after ye lustes of men but after the will of God.
4:3For it is sufficient for vs that we have spent the tyme that is past of the lyfe after the will of the gentyls walkinge in wantannes lustes dronkennes in eatinge drinkinge and in abominable ydolatrie.
4:4And it semeth to them a straunge thinge that ye runne not also with them vnto the same excesse of ryote and therfore speake they evill of you
4:5which shall geve a coptes to him that is redy to iudge quycke and deed.
4:6For vnto this purpose verely was ye gospell preached vnto the (deed) that they shuld be condempned of men in ye flesshe but shuld live before God in the sprete.
4:7The ende of all thinges is at honde. Be ye therfore discrete and sober yt ye maye be apte to prayers.
4:8But above all thinges have fervet love amoge you. For love covereth the multitude of synnes.
4:9Be ye herberous one to another and that wt out grudginge.
4:10As every man hath receaved the gyfte minister the same one to another as good ministers of the manyfolde grace of God.
4:11Yf eny man speake let him talke as though he spake ye wordes of God. If eny man minister let him do it as of ye abilitie which god ministreth vnto him. That god in all thinges maye be glorified thorow Iesus Christ to whom be prayse and dominion for ever and whyll the worlde stondeth. Amen.
4:12Dearly beloved be not troubled in this heate which now is come amoge you to trye you as though some strauge thinge had happened vnto you:
4:13but reioyce in as moche as ye are partetakers of Christes passions that when his glory appereth ye maye be mery and glad.
4:14If ye be rayled vpon for the name of Christ happie are ye. For the sprete of glory and the sprete of god resteth apon you. On their parte he is evyll spoken of: but on youre parte he is glorified.
4:15Se that none of you suffre as a murtherer or as a thefe or an evyll doar or as a busybody in other mens matters.
4:16Yf eny man suffre as a Christe man let him not be ashamed: but let him glorifie god on his behalfe.
4:17For the tyme is come that iudgement must begynne at the housse of god. If it fyrst begynne at vs what shall the ende be of them which beleve not the gospell of god?
4:18And yf the righteous scasly be saved: where shall the vngodly and the sinner appere?
4:19Wherfore let them that suffer accordynge to the will of god commit their soules to him with well doynge as vnto a faythfull creator

4:1For as moch then as Christ hath suffred for vs in ye flesh, arme youre selues likewyse with the same mynde. For he which suffreth in the flesh, ceasseth fro synne,
4:2yt hece forth (as moch tyme as yet remayneth in ye flesh) he shulde not lyue after the lustes of me, but after the wil of God.
4:3For it is ynough, yt we haue spent ye tyme past of the life, after the will of ye Heythen, wha we walked in wantannesse, lustes, dronkenes, glotony, ryotous drynkynge, & i abhominable Idolatrye.
4:4And it semeth to the a straunge thinge, yt ye runne not also wt them vnto the same excesse of ryote, & speake euell of you.
4:5(Which shal geue acoptes vnto hi yt is ready to iudge ye quycke & ye deed.)
4:6For vnto this purpose also was ye Gospell preached vnto the deed, yt they shulde be iudged like other me i ye flesh, but shulde lyue vnto God in ye sprete.
4:7The ende of all thiges is at hade.Be ye therfore sober & watch vnto prayers:
4:8but aboue all thinges haue feruent loue amonge you one to another. For loue couereth the multitude of synnes.
4:9Be ye herberous one to another without grudginge,
4:10& mynister one to another, eueryone with the gifte yt he hath receaued, as good stewardes of the manifolde grace of God.
4:11Yf eny ma speake, let hi speake it as ye wordes of God. Yf eny man haue an office, let him execute it as out of the power yt God mynistreth vnto hi, yt God maye be praysed in all thinges thorow Iesus Christ, To who be honor and domynion for euer and eu
4:12Derely beloued, maruell not at this heate (which is come amoge you to trye you) as though some strauge thinge happened vnto you:
4:13but reioyce, in as moch as ye are partakers of Christes passios, yt wha his glory appeareth, ye maye be mery & glad.
4:14Yf ye be reuyled for ye name of Christ, blessed are ye, for ye sprete (which is ye sprete of glory & of God) resteth vpon you. On their parte he is euell spoken of, but on yor parte he is praysed.
4:15But se that none of you suffre as a murthurer, or as a thefe, or as an euell doer, or as a busy body in other mens matters.
4:16Yf eny man suffre as a Christen man, let him not be ashamed, but let him prayse God on this behalfe.
4:17For ye tyme is come, that iudgmet must begynne at the house of God. Yf it first begynne at vs, what shal the ende be of the which beleue not the Gospell of God?
4:18And yf ye righteous scacely be saued, where shal ye vngodly & synner appeare?
4:19Wherfore let them that suffer acordynge to the will off God, commytte their soules vnto him with well doynge, as to the faithfull creator.
