1 John - Chapter: 4

>
4:1Moost dere britheren, nyle ye bileue to ech spirit, but preue ye spiritis, if thei ben of God; for many false prophetis wenten out in to the world.
4:2In this thing the spirit of God is knowun; ech spirit that knowlechith that Jhesu Crist hath come in fleisch, is of God;
4:3and ech spirit that fordoith Jhesu, is not of God. And this is antecrist, of whom ye herden, that he cometh; and riyt now he is in the world.
4:4Ye, litle sones, ben of God, and ye han ouercome hym; for he that is in you is more, than he that is in the world.
4:5Thei ben of the world, therfor thei speken of the world, and the world herith hem.
4:6We ben of God; he that knowith God, herith vs; he that is not of God, herith not vs. In this thing we knowen the spirit of treuthe, and the spirit of errour.
4:7Moost dere britheren, loue we togidere, for charite is of God; and ech that loueth his brother, is borun of God, and knowith God.
4:8He that loueth not, knowith not God; for God is charite.
4:9In this thing the charite of God apperide in vs, for God sente hise oon bigetun sone in to the world, that we lyue bi hym.
4:10In this thing is charite, not as we hadden loued God, but for he firste louede vs, and sente hise sone foryyuenesse for oure synnes.
4:11Ye moost dere britheren, if God louede vs, we owen to loue ech other.
4:12No man say euer God; if we louen togidre, God dwellith in vs, and the charite of hym is perfit in vs.
4:13In this thing we knowen, that we dwellen in hym, and he in vs; for of his spirit he yaf to vs.
4:14And we sayen, and witnessen, that the fadir sente his sone sauyour of the world.
4:15Who euer knowlechith, that Jhesu is the sone of God, God dwellith in him, and he in God.
4:16And we han knowun, and bileuen to the charite, that God hath in vs. God is charite, and he that dwellith in charite, dwellith in God, and God in hym.
4:17In this thing is the perfit charite of God with vs, that we haue trist in the dai of dom; for as he is, also we ben in this world.
4:18Drede is not in charite, but perfit charite puttith out drede; for drede hath peyne. But he that dredith, is not perfit in charite.
4:19Therfor loue we God, for he louede vs bifore.
4:20If ony man seith, that `Y loue God, and hatith his brother, he is a liere. For he that loueth not his brothir, which he seeth, hou mai he loue God, whom he seeth not?
4:21And we han this comaundement of God, that he that loueth God, loue also his brothir.

4:1Dearely beloued, beleeue not euery spirit, but trie the spirits whether they are of God: for many false prophets are gone out into this worlde.
4:2Hereby shall ye know the Spirit of God, Euery spirit which confesseth that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.
4:3And euery spirit that confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God: but this is the spirit of Antichrist, of whome ye haue heard, how that he should come, and nowe already he is in this world.
4:4Litle children, ye are of God, and haue ouercome them: for greater is he that is in you, then he that is in this world.
4:5They are of this worlde, therefore speake they of this world, and this world heareth them.
4:6We are of God, he that knoweth God, heareth vs: he that is not of God, heareth vs not. Heereby knowe wee the spirit of trueth, and the spirit of errour.
4:7Beloued, let vs loue one another: for loue commeth of God, and euery one that loueth, is borne of God, and knoweth God.
4:8Hee that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue.
4:9Herein was that loue of God made manifest amongst vs, because God sent that his onely begotten sonne into this world, that we might liue through him.
4:10Herein is that loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, and sent his Sonne to be a reconciliation for our sinnes.
4:11Beloued, if God so loued vs, we ought also to loue one another.
4:12No man hath seene God at any time. If we loue one another, God dwelleth in vs, and his loue is perfect in vs.
4:13Hereby know we, that we dwell in him, and he in vs: because he hath giuen vs of his Spirit.
4:14And we haue seene, and doe testifie, that the Father sent that Sonne to be ye Sauiour of the world.
4:15Whosoeuer confesseth that Iesus is the Sone of God, in him dwelleth God, and he in God.
4:16And we haue knowen, and beleeued ye loue that God hath in vs. God is loue, and he that dwelleth in loue, dwelleth in God, and God in him.
4:17Herein is that loue perfect in vs, that we should haue boldnes in the day of iudgement: for as he is, euen so are we in this world.
4:18There is no feare in loue, but perfect loue casteth out feare: for feare hath painefulnesse: and he that feareth, is not perfect in loue.
4:19We loue him, because he loued vs first.
4:20If any man say, I loue God, and hate his brother, he is a liar: for how can he that loueth not his brother whom he hath seene, loue God whom he hath not seene?
4:21And this commandement haue we of him, that he that loueth God, should loue his brother also.

4:1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
4:2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh is of God,
4:3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh is not of God. And this is that spirit of antichrist, which you have heard was coming and even now it is already in the world.
4:4You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
4:5They are of the world. Therefore they speak from the world, and the world hears them.
4:6We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
4:7Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
4:8He who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
4:9In this the love of God was manifested toward us, in that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
4:10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
4:11Beloved, if God loved us so much, we also should love one another.
4:12No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
4:13By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
4:14And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
4:15Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
4:16And we have known and believed the love that God has toward us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
4:17By this is our love perfected, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
4:18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. He who fears has not been made perfect in love.
4:19We love Him because He first loved us.
4:20If anyone says, "I love God," and yet hates his brother, he is a liar; because, he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
4:21And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God should love his brother also.
