| 9:1 | And the fift Angel sounded, and I saw a starre fall from heauen vnto the earth: and to him was giuen the key of the bottomlesse pitte. |
| 9:2 | And hee opened the bottomelesse pit, and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great fornace, and the sunne and the ayre were darkened, by reason of the smoke of the pit. |
| 9:3 | And there came out of the smoke locusts vpon the earth, and vnto them was giuen power, as the Scorpions of the earth haue power. |
| 9:4 | And it was commaunded them that they should not hurt the grasse of the earth, neither any greene thing, neither any tree: but only those men which haue not the seale of God in their foreheads. |
| 9:5 | And to them it was giuen that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented fiue moneths, and their torment was as the torment of a Scorpion, when he striketh a man. |
| 9:6 | And in those daies shal men seeke death, and shall not finde it, and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. |
| 9:7 | And the shapes of the Locusts were like vnto horses prepared vnto battell, and on their heades were as it were crownes like golde, and their faces were as the faces of men. |
| 9:8 | And they had haire as the haire of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of Lions. |
| 9:9 | And they had brestplates, as it were brestplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was as the sound of charets of many horses running to battell. |
| 9:10 | And they had tayles like vnto Scorpions, and there were stings in their tayles: and their power was to hurt men fiue moneths. |
| 9:11 | And they had a king ouer them, which is the Angel of the bottomlesse pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greeke tongue hath his name Apollyon. |
| 9:12 | One woe is past, and behold there come two woes more hereafter. |
| 9:13 | And the sixt Angel sounded, and I heard a voyce from the foure hornes of ye golden altar, which is before God, |
| 9:14 | Saying to the sixt Angel which had the trumpet, Loose the foure Angels which are bound in the great riuer Euphrates. |
| 9:15 | And the foure Angels were loosed, which were prepared for an houre, and a day, and a moneth, and a yeere, for to slay the third part of men. |
| 9:16 | And the number of the armie of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. |
| 9:17 | And thus I sawe the horses in the vision, and them that sate on them, hauing brest-plates of fire and of Iacinct, and brimstone, & the heades of the horses were as the heads of Lions, and out of their mouthes issued fire, and smoke, and brimstone. |
| 9:18 | By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone which issued out of their mouthes. |
| 9:19 | For their power is in their mouth, and in their tailes: for their tailes were like vnto serpents, and had heads, and with them they doe hurt. |
| 9:20 | And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues, yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship deuils, and idoles of golde, and siluer, and brasse, and stone, and of wood, which neither can see, nor heare, nor walke: |
| 9:21 | Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. |

| 9:5 | and to them was comaunded, that they shulde not kyll the, but that they shulde be vexed fyue monethes, and their payne was as the payne that cometh of a scorpion, when he hath stonge a man. |
| 9:6 | And in those dayes shal me seke deeth, and shal not fynde it: and shal desyre to dye, and death shal flye from them. |
| 9:7 | And the similitude of the locustes was lyke vnto horses prepared vnto battayll, and on their heades were as it were crownes, lyke vnto golde: and their faces were as it had bene the faces of men. |
| 9:8 | And they had heere as the heere of wemen. And their tethe were as the tethe of lyons. |
| 9:9 | And they had habbergions, as it were habbergions of yron. And the sounde of their wynges, was as ye sounde of charettes whe many horsses runne together to battayle. |
| 9:10 | And they had tayles lyke vnto scorpions, and there were stynges in their tayles. And their power was to hurt me fyue monethes. |
| 9:11 | And they had a kinge ouer them, which is the angel of the bottomlesse pyt, whose name in the hebrew tonge, is Abadon: but in the greke tonge, Apollion. |
| 9:12 | One wo is past, and beholde two woes come yet after this. |
| 9:13 | And the sixte angel blewe, and I herde a voyce from the foure corners of the golden aultre which is before God, |
| 9:14 | sayenge to the sixte angel, which had the trompe: Lowse the foure angels, which are bounde in the greate ryuer Eufrates. |
| 9:15 | And ye foure angels were lowsed, which were prepared for an houre, for a daye, for a moneth, and for a yeare, for to slee the thyrde parte of men. |
| 9:16 | And the nombre of horsmen of warre, were twenty tymes x M. And I herde ye nombre of them. |
| 9:17 | And thus I sawe the horses in a vision, and them that sat on the hauynge fyry habbergions of a yalowe and brymstony color, and the heades of ye horses werre as the heades of lyons. And out of their mouthes went forth fyre, and smoke, and brymstone. |
| 9:18 | And of these thre was the thirde parte of men kylled: that is to saye, of fyre, smoke, and brymstone, which proceded out of the mouthes of the: |
| 9:19 | For their power was in their mouthes and in their tayles: for their tayles were like vnto serpetes, and had heades, and with the they dyd hurt: |
| 9:20 | And the remnaunt of the me which were not kylled by these plages, repeted not of the dedes of their hondes, yt they shulde not worshippe deuels, and ymages of golde, and syluer, and brasse, & stone, and of wod, which nether can se, nether heare, nether |
| 9:21 | Also they repented not of their murthur, and of their witchcraft, nether of their whordome, nether of their thefte. |
| 9:1 | And the fyuethe aungel trumpide; and Y say, that a sterre hadde falle doun fro heuene in to erthe; and the keye of the pit of depnesse was youun to it. |
| 9:2 | And it openede the pit of depnesse, and a smoke of the pit stiede vp, as the smoke of a greet furneis; and the sunne was derkid, and the eir, of the smoke of the pit. |
| 9:3 | And locustis wenten out of the smoke of the pit in to erthe; and power was youun to hem, as scorpiouns of the erthe han power. |
| 9:4 | And it was comaundid to hem, that thei schulden not hirte the gras of erthe, nether ony grene thing, nether ony tre, but oneli men, that han not the signe of God in her forhedis. |
| 9:5 | And it was youun to hem, that thei schulden not sle hem, but that thei schulden `be turmentid fyue monethis; and the turmentyng of hem, as the turmentyng of a scorpioun, whanne he smytith a man. |
| 9:6 | And in tho daies men schulen seke deth, and thei schulen not fynde it; and thei schulen desire to die, and deth schal fle fro hem. |
| 9:7 | And the licnesse of locustis ben lijk horsis maad redi `in to batel; and on the heedis of hem as corouns lijk gold, and the facis of hem as the faces of men. |
| 9:8 | And thei hadden heeris, as heeris of wymmen; and the teeth of hem weren as teeth of liouns. |
| 9:9 | And thei hadden haburiouns, as yren haburiouns, and the vois of her wengis as the vois of charis of many horsis rennynge `in to batel. |
| 9:10 | And thei hadden tailis lijk scorpiouns, and prickis weren in the tailis of hem; and the myyt of hem was to noye men fyue monethis. |
| 9:11 | And thei hadden on hem a kyng, the aungel of depnesse, to whom the name bi Ebrew is Laabadon, but bi Greek Appollion, and bi Latyn `he hath a name `Extermynans, that is, a distriere. |
| 9:12 | O wo is passid, and lo! yit comen twei woes. |
| 9:13 | Aftir these thingis also the sixte aungel trumpide; and Y herde a vois fro foure corneris of the goldun auter, that is bifore the iyen of God, |
| 9:14 | and seide to the sixte aungel that hadde a trumpe, Vnbynde thou foure aungels, that ben boundun in the greet flood Eufrates. |
| 9:15 | And the foure aungels weren vnboundun, whiche weren redi in to our, and dai, and monethe, and yeer, to sle the thridde part of men. |
| 9:16 | And the noumbre of the oost of horse men was twenti thousynde sithis ten thousynde. Y herde the noumbre of hem. |
| 9:17 | And so Y say horsis in visioun; and thei that saten on hem hadden firy haburiouns, and of iacynt, and of brymstoon. And the heedis of the horsis weren as heedis of liouns; and fier, and smoke, and brymston, cometh forth of the mouth of hem. |
| 9:18 | Of these thre plagis the thridde part of men was slayn, of the fier, and of the smoke, and of the brymston, that camen out of the mouth of hem. |
| 9:19 | For the power of the horsis is in the mouth of hem, and in the tailis of hem; for the tailis of hem ben lyk to serpentis, hauynge heedis, and in hem thei noyen. |
| 9:20 | And the tothir men, that weren not slayn in these plagis, nether dyden penaunce of the werkis of her hondis, that thei worschipeden not deuelis, and simylacris of gold, and of siluer, and of bras, and of stoon, and of tre, whiche nethir mown se, nether heere, nether wandre; |
| 9:21 | and diden not penaunce of her mansleyngis, nether of her witchecraftis, nethir of her fornicacioun, nethir of her theftis, weren slayn. |
