Revelation - Chapter: 18


18:1	And after that I saw another angel come from heauen, hauinge greate power, & the earth was lightened wt his brighnes.
18:2	And he cryed mightely with a strong voyce, saing: Great Babylon is fallen, is fallen: and is become the habitacion of deuilles, and the holde of al foule spyrytes, and a cage of al vncleane and hateful byrdes,
18:3	for al nacyons haue dronken of the wyne of the wrath of her fornicacion. And the kinges of the earth haue committed fornicacion wyth her, & her marchauntes are wexed riche of the aboundance of her pleasures.
18:4	And I hearde another voice from heauen say: Come awaye from her my people, that ye be not partakers in her sinnes, & that ye receiue not of her plages.
18:5	For his sonnes are gone vp to heauen, & God hath remembred her wickednes.
18:6	Reward her euen as she rewarded you, & geue her double accordinge to her workes. And youre in double to her in the same cuppe, which she fylled vnto you.
18:7	And as muche as she glorified her selfe and lyued wantonly, so muche poure ye in for her of punishment, & sorowe, for she said in her herte: I sytte being a quene and am no wydowe, and shall se no sorowe.
18:8	Therfore shal her plages come at one daye, death, and sorowe, and honger, and she shalbe brente wyth fyre, for stronge is the Lorde God, whiche iudgeth her.
18:9	And the kynges of the earth shal bewepe her & wayle ouer her, which haue committed fornicacion with her, & haue lyued wantonly with her, when they shal se the smoke of her burning,
18:10	& shal stand a farre of, for feare of her punishmente, saying: Alas, Alas, that great citie Babilon, that myghty cytie. For at one houre is her iudgemente come.
18:11	And the marchauntes of the earth, shal wepe and wayle in them selues, for no man wil bye their ware anye more,
18:12	the ware of gold, & syluer, & precious stones, neither of pearle, sylke, and raynes, & purple, & skarled, and al thin wode, & all maner vessels of iuory, & al maner vessels of most precious wode, and of brasse, and of Iron,
18:13	& sinamome, and odoures, and oyntmentes, & frankinsence, and wine, and oyle, and fine floure, and wheat, beastes, and shepe, and horsses, & charrettes, and bodyes, and soules of men.
18:14	And the apples that thy soule lusted after are departed from the. And al thinges which were deyntye, & had in price are departed from the, & thou shalt finde them no more.
18:15	The marchauntes of these thinges, which were wexed riche shal stand a farre of from her, for feare of the punishement of her, weping & waylynge,
18:16	& saying: alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in raines, & purple, and scarlet, & decked wt gold, & precious stones, & pearles,
18:17	for at one hour so great riches is come to nought. And euery shyp gouerner, & al they that occupied shippes, & shipmen which worke in the sea, stode a farre of
18:18	& cried, when they saw the smoke of her burninge, sayinge: what citie is lyke vnto this great citie?
18:19	And they cast duste on their heades, & cried weping, & wailing, & said: Alas, alas the greate citye wherin were made riche al that had shippes in the sea, by the reason of her costlines, for at one houre is she made desolate.
18:20	Reioice ouer her thou heauen, and ye holy Apostles, & prophetes: for God hath geuen your iudgemente on her.
18:21	And a mighty angel toke vp a stone lyke a greate mylstone, & cast it into the sea, saying: wyth such violence shal that greate citie Babilon be caste, and shalbe found no more.
18:22	And the voice of harpers, & musicions, and of pipers, & trompeters, shalbe hearde no more in the, and no craftes man, of whatsoeuer crafte he be, shalbe founde any more in the, & the sound of a myl, shalbe hard no more in the,
18:23	and the voice of the brydegrome and of the bryde, shalbe hard no more in the, for thy marchauntes were the greate men of the earth. And wt thyne inchauntment were deceiued al nacions,
18:24	& in her was found the bloud of the prophetes, and of the sainctes and of al that were slayne vpon the earth.

18:2	And he cryed myghtyly with a strong voyce, saying: Great Babylon is fallen is fallen, and is become the habitation of deuyls, and the holde of all foule spirites, and a cage of all vncleane and hatefull byrdes:
18:3	For all nations haue dronken of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, & the kinges of the earth haue committed fornication with her, & the marchauntes of the earth are waxed riche of the aboundaunce of her pleasures.
18:4	And I hearde another voyce from heauen say: Come awaye from her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sinnes, and that ye receaue not of her plagues.
18:5	For her sinnes are gone vp to heauen, and God hath remembred her wickednesse.
18:6	Rewarde her euen as she rewarded you, and geue her double accordyng to her workes, and powre in double to her in the same cuppe which she fylled vnto you.
18:7	And as much as she glorified her selfe & lyued wantonly, so much powre ye in for her of punishement & sorowe: for she said in her heart, I sit being a queene, and am no wydowe, and shall see no sorowe.
18:8	Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and sorowe, and hunger, and she shalbe brent with fire: for strong is the Lorde whiche shall iudge her.
18:9	And they shal bewayl her, & the kinges of the earth shall lament for her, which haue committed fornication with her, & haue lyued wantonly with her, when they shal see the smoke of her burnyng.
18:10	And shall stande a farre of for feare of her punishment, saying: Alas, alas, that great citie Babylon, that myghtie citie, for at one houre is thy iudgement come.
18:11	And the marchauntes of the earth shall wepe and wayle ouer her, for no man wyll bye their ware any more.
18:12	The ware of golde and siluer, and precious stones, neither of pearle, & raynes, and purple, and sylke, and skarlet, and all thinne wood, and all maner vessels of yuorie, and all maner vessels of most precious wood, and of brasse, and yron, and marble,
18:13	And synamon, and odours, and oyntmentes, and frankensence, and wine, and oyle, and fine floure, and wheate, & beastes, and sheepe, and horses, & charrets, and bodies, and soules of men.
18:14	And the apples that thy soule lusted after are departed from thee, and all thynges which were daintie and had in price are departed from thee, and thou shalt fynde them no more.
18:15	The marchauntes of these thynges whiche were waxed ryche, shall stande a farre of fro her for feare of the punishment of her, wepyng and waylyng,
18:16	And saying: Alas, alas, that great citie, that was clothed in raynes, and purple, and skarlet, and decked with golde and precious stones, and pearles:
18:17	For at one houre so great ryches is come to naught. And euery shippe gouernour, & all they that occupie shippes, and shippemen which worke in the sea, stoode a farre of,
18:18	And cryed, when they sawe the smoke of her burnyng, saying: what citie is lyke vnto this great citie?
18:19	And they cast dust on their heades, & cryed, wepyng & waylyng, and saying: Alas, alas, that great citie, wherein were made riche all that had shippes in the sea, by reason of her costlynesse, for at one houre is she made desolate.
18:20	Reioyce ouer her thou heauen, and ye holy apostles and prophetes: for God hath geuen your iudgement on her.
18:21	And a myghtie angell toke vp a stone lyke a great mylstone, and cast it into the sea, saying: With suche violence shall that great citie Babylon be cast, & shalbe founde no more.
18:22	And the voyce of harpers, and musitions, & of pypers, and trumpetters, shall be heard no more in thee, and no craftes man, of whatsoeuer craft he be, shall be founde any more in thee, and the sounde of a myll shall be heard no more in thee:
18:23	And the lyght of a candle shall shyne no more in thee, and the voyce of the brydegrome and of the bryde shall be hearde no more in thee: for thy marchaunts were the great men of ye earth, and with thyne inchauntment were deceaued all nations:
18:24	And in her was founde the blood of the prophetes, and of the saintes, and of all that were slayne vpon the earth.

18:2	And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
18:3	For all nations have drank of the wine of the wrath of her lewdness, and the kings of the earth have committed lewd deeds with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
18:4	And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
18:5	For her sins have reached to heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
18:6	Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double to her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double.
18:7	How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
18:8	Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
18:9	And the kings of the earth, who have committed lewdness and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
18:10	Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
18:11	And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
18:12	The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all vessels of ivory, and all vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
18:13	And cinnamon, and odors, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
18:14	And the fruits that thy soul lusted after have departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly have departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
18:15	The merchants of these things who were made rich by her, shall stand afar off, for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
18:16	And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
18:17	For in one hour so great riches is come to naught. And every ship-master, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18:18	And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like this great city!
18:19	And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, in which were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her opulence! for in one hour is she made desolate.
18:20	Rejoice over her thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
18:21	And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be no more found.
18:22	And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be no more heard in thee; and no artificer, of whatever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be no more heard in thee;
18:23	And the light of a candle shall shine no more in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
18:24	And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
