2 Samuel - Chapter: 7

>
7:1And it came to passe, when the King sate in his house, and the Lord had giuen him rest round about fro all his enemies;
7:2That the king said vnto Nathan the Prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of Cedar, but the Arke of God dwelleth within curtaines.
7:3And Nathan sayde to the King, Go, doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.
7:4And it came to passe that night, that the word of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying;
7:5Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus sayth the Lord, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
7:6Whereas I haue not dwelt in any house, since the time that I brought vp the children of Israel out of Egypt, euen to this day, but haue walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7:7In all the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whome I commanded to feede my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of Cedar?
7:8Now therefore so shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid; Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepe-cote, from following the sheepe, to be ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.
7:9And I was with thee withersoeuer thou wentest, and haue cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
7:10(Moreouer I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and mooue no more: neither shall the children of wickednesse afflict them any more, as beforetime,
7:11And as since the time that I commanded Iudges to bee ouer my people Israel, and haue caused thee to rest from all thine enemies:) Also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.
7:12And when thy dayes be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, I will set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdome.
7:13Hee shall build an house for my Name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdome for euer.
7:14I will be his father, and he shall be my sonne: if hee commit iniquitie, I will chasten him with the rodde of men, and with the stripes of the children of men.
7:15But my mercie shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
7:16And thine house, and thy kingdome shall be stablished for euer before thee: thy throne shall be stablished for euer.
7:17According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speake vnto Dauid.
7:18Then went king Dauid in, and sate before the Lord, and hee said, Who am I, O Lord God? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
7:19And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God: but thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while to come, and is this the maner of man, O Lord God?
7:20And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.
7:21For thy words sake, and according to thine own heart hast thou done all these great things, to make thy seruant know them.
7:22Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.
7:23And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, euen like Israel, whom God went to redeeme for a people to himselfe, & to make him a name, and to doe for you great things, and terrible, for thy lande, before thy people which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?
7:24For thou hast confirmed to thy selfe thy people Israel to be a people vnto thee for euer: and thou, Lord art become their God.
7:25And now, O Lord God, the word that thou hast spoken, concerning thy seruant, and concerning his house, establish it for euer, and doe as thou hast said.
7:26And let thy name bee magnified for euer, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid bee established before thee.
7:27For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reuealed to thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therfore hath thy seruant found in his heart to pray this prayer vnto thee.
7:28And now, O Lord GOD, (thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodnesse vnto thy seruant.)
7:29Therefore now let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it, and with thy blessing let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer.

7:1Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,
7:2The King saide vnto Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, nowe I dwel in an house of cedar trees, and the Arke of God remayneth within the curtaines.
7:3Then Nathan sayde vnto the King, Go, and doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.
7:4And the same night the worde of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying,
7:5Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord, Shalt thou buylde me an house for my dwelling?
7:6For I haue dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt vnto this day, but haue walked in a tent and tabernacle.
7:7In al the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I one worde with any of the tribes of Israel when I commanded the iudges to feede my people Israel? or sayde I, Why build ye not me an house of cedar trees?
7:8Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.
7:9And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
7:10(Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as before time,
7:11And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) and I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.
7:12And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome.
7:13He shall buyld an house for my Name, and I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer.
7:14I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men.
7:15But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee.
7:16And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.
7:17According to all these wordes, and according to all this vision, Nathan spake thus vnto Dauid.
7:18Then King Dauid went in, and sate before the Lord, and sayde, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
7:19And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while: but doth this appertaine to man, O Lord God?
7:20And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.
7:21For thy words sake, and according to thine owne heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them knowen vnto thy seruant.
7:22Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that wee haue heard with our eares.
7:23And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himselfe, that they might be his people, and that hee might make him a name, and do for you great things, and terrible for thy land, O Lord, euen for thy people, whome thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?
7:24For thou hast ordeyned to thy selfe thy people Israel to be thy people for euer: and thou Lord art become their God.
7:25Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.
7:26And let thy Name bee magnified for euer by them that shall say, The Lord of hostes is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid be stablished before thee.
7:27For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reueiled vnto thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy seruant bene bold to pray this prayer vnto thee.
7:28Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast tolde this goodnes vnto thy seruant)
7:29Therefore nowe let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer, with thy blessing.

7:1It fortuned, that as the kyng satt in his house (after that the Lord had geuen hym rest rounde about from all his enemyes)
7:2he sayde vnto Nathan the prophet: behold, I dwell now in an house of Cedar trees, but the Arcke of God dwelleth within the curtayne.
7:3And Nathan sayd vnto the kyng: go & do all that is in thine hert for the Lord is with the.
7:4And it fortuned the same nyght that the woord of the lord came vnto Nathan sayeng:
7:5go and tell my seruaunt Dauid, thus sayth the Lorde: shalt thou bylde me an house to dwelle in?
7:6For I haue not dwelt in any house, sence the tyme that I brought the children of Israel out of Egipt, vnto this daye:
7:7but haue walked, in a tent and tabernacle. In all the places where in I haue walked with al the children of Israel, spake I one word wt any of the tribes of Israel (sens I commaunded the iudges to fede my people Israel) sayeng: why bylde ye not me an house of Cedar trees?
7:8Now therfore, so saye vnto my seruaunt Dauid: thus sayth the Lorde of Hostes. I toke the from the shepe cote (as thou wast folowyng shepe) that thou myghtest be ruler ouer my people Israel.
7:9And I was with the in all that thou wentest to, & haue destroyed all thyne enemyes out of thy syght, and haue made the a great name, lyke vnto the name of the great men that are in the worlde.
7:10And therfore, I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and wyll plant it, that they maye dwell in a place of their awne, and moue no moare, nether shall wyckyd people trouble them any more, as they did at the beginnyng:
7:11sence the tyme that I sett Iudges ouer my people Israel. And I will geue the rest from all thine enemyes. And the Lord telleth the, that he wyll make the an howse.
7:12And when thy dayes he fulfilled, thou shalt slepe wyth thy fathers, and I wyll set vp thy seede after the, which shall procead out of thy bodye, & will stablyshe his kyngdome.
7:13He shall bylde an house for my name, & I wyll stablyshe the seate of his kyngdome for euer.
7:14I wylbe his father, and he shalbe my sonne: yf he synne, I wyll chasten hym wyth soche a rodde as men be chastened wt, & wt soche plages as the children of men be plaged wt.
7:15But my mercie shal not depart awaye from him, as I toke it from Saul, whom I put downe before the.
7:16And thyne house and thy kyngdome shall endure wt out ende after the, and thy seate shalbe stablyshed foreuer.
7:17According to all these wordes and accordyng to all thys visyon, dyd Nathan speake vnto Dauid.
7:18Then went Dauid in, and set hym downe before the Lord, and sayde: what am I, O Lord God? and what is my house? that thou shuldest haue brought me this farre forth?
7:19And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, but thou hast spoken also of thy seruauntes house for a great while to come: For this is the vse of man, O lord God.
7:20And what can Dauid saye moare vnto the: for thou Lord God knowest thy seruaunt.
7:21Euen for thy wordes sake & according to thine awne hert hast thou done all these greate thynges to make them knowen vnto thy seruaunt.
7:22Wherfore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none lyke the nether is there any God saue thou, according to all that we haue heard wt oure eares.
7:23And what one people in the erth is lyke thy people Israel whose God, went & delyuered them, that they myght be his people, & that he myght make hym a name, & to shewe great & terrible things in the erthe, for thy people which thou redemedst to the out of Egipt, euen the people with their goddes.
7:24For thou hast ordeyned thy people Israel, to be thy people for euer. And thou Lorde art become theyr God.
7:25And now (Lord God) the worde that thou hast spoken concernyng thy seruaunt and his house: make it good for euer, and do as thou hast sayd.
7:26For so shall thy name be magnified for euer, of men that shall saye: the Lorde of Hostes is the God of Israell: and the house of thy seruaunt shall be stablyshed before the.
7:27For thou, O Lord of Hostes, God of Israell, hast tolde in the eare of thy seruaunt, sayeng: I wyll bylde the an house And therfore hath thy seruaunt found in his harte, to praye this prayer vnto the.
7:28Therfore now Lord God, thou art God, and thy wordes must be true, thou that hast tolde this goodnesse vnto thy seruaunt.
7:29And now go to, and blesse the housse of thy seruaunt, that it maye contynew for euer before the. for thou. Lord God hast spoken it, and with thy blessyng shall the house of thy seruaunt be blessed for euer.
