2 Samuel - Chapter: 22

>
22:1And Dauid spake vnto the Lord the wordes of this song, in the day that the Lord had deliuered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.
22:2And he said, The Lord is my rocke and my fortresse, and my deliuerer:
22:3The God of my rocke, in him will I trust: hee is my shield, and the horne of my saluation, my high tower, and my refuge, my Sauiour; thou sauest me from violence.
22:4I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saued from mine enemies.
22:5When the waues of death compassed me: the floods of vngodly men made me afraid.
22:6The sorowes of Hell compassed me about: the snares of death preuented me.
22:7In my distresse I called vpon the Lord, and cryed to my God, and hee did heare my voice out of his Temple, and my crie did enter into his eares.
22:8Then the earth shooke and trembled: the foundations of heauen mooued and shooke, because hee was wroth.
22:9There went vp a smoake out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth deuoured: coales were kindled by it.
22:10Hee bowed the heauens also and came downe: and darkenesse was vnder his feete.
22:11And he rode vpon a Cherub, and did flie: and hee was seene vpon the wings of the winde.
22:12And hee made darkenesse pauilions round about him, darke waters, and thicke clouds of the skies.
22:13Through the brightnesse before him, were coales of fire kindled.
22:14The Lord thundred from heauen: and the most high vttered his voice.
22:15And he sent out arrowes, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
22:16And the channels of the Sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discouered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
22:17He sent from aboue, he tooke me: he drew me out of many waters.
22:18He deliuered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated mee: for they were too strong for me.
22:19They preuented me in the day of my calamitie: but the Lord was my stay.
22:20Hee brought me forth also into a large place: he deliuered me, because hee delighted in me.
22:21The Lord rewarded mee according to my righteousnesse: according to the cleannesse of my hands, hath hee recompensed me.
22:22For I haue kept the wayes of the Lord, and haue not wickedly departed from my God.
22:23For all his iudgements were before me: and as for his Statutes, I did not depart from them.
22:24I was also vpright before him: and haue kept my selfe from mine iniquitie.
22:25Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me, according to my righteousnesse: according to my cleannesse in his eye sight.
22:26With the merciful thou wilt shew thy selfe mercifull, and with the vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright.
22:27With the pure thou wilt shew thy selfe pure: and with the froward, thou wilt shew thy selfe vnsauoury.
22:28And the afflicted people thou wilt saue: but thine eyes are vpon the hautie, that thou mayest bring them downe.
22:29For thou art my lampe, O Lord: and the Lord wil lighten my darkenesse.
22:30For by thee I haue run through a troupe: by my God haue I leaped ouer a wall.
22:31As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
22:32For who is God, saue the Lord ? and who is a rocke, saue our God?
22:33God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
22:34Hee maketh my feet like hindes feet: and setteth mee vpon my high places.
22:35He teacheth my hands to warre: so that a bow of steele is broken by mine armes.
22:36Thou hast also giuen mee the shield of thy saluation: and thy gentlenesse hath made me great.
22:37Thou hast enlarged my steps vnder me: so that my feet did not slip.
22:38I haue pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them: and turned not againe vntill I had consumed them.
22:39And I haue consumed them and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen vnder my feet.
22:40For thou hast girded mee with strength to battel: them that rose vp against me, hast thou subdued vnder me.
22:41Thou hast also giuen mee the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
22:42They looked, but there was none to saue: euen vnto the Lord, but he answered them not.
22:43Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth: I did stampe them as the myre of the street, and did spread them abroad.
22:44Thou also hast deliuered mee from the striuings of my people, thou hast kept mee to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not, shall serue me.
22:45Strangers shall submit themselues vnto me: as soone as they heare, they shall be obedient vnto me.
22:46Strangers shall fade away: and they shall bee afraid out of their close places.
22:47The Lord liueth, and blessed be my rocke: and exalted be the God of the rocke of my saluation.
22:48It is God that auengeth mee, and that bringeth downe the people vnder me:
22:49And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted mee vp on high aboue them that rose vp against me: thou hast deliuered me from the violent man.
22:50Therefore I will giue thankes vnto thee, O Lord, among the heathen: and I will sing praises vnto thy Name.
22:51He is the towre of saluation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his Anointed, vnto Dauid, and to his seede for euermore.

22:1And Dauid spake the woordes of this song vnto the Lord, what time the Lord had deliuered him out of the handes of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.
22:2And he sayd, The Lord is my rocke and my fortresse, and he that deliuereth mee.
22:3God is my strength, in him will I trust: my shielde, and the horne of my saluation, my hie tower and my refuge: my Sauiour, thou hast saued me from violence.
22:4I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praysed: so shall I be safe from mine enemies.
22:5For the pangs of death haue compassed me: the floods of vngodlinesse haue made mee afrayd.
22:6The sorowes of the graue compassed mee about: the snares of death ouertooke mee.
22:7But in my tribulation did I call vpon the Lord, and crie to my God, and he did heare my voyce out of his temple, and my crie did enter into his eares.
22:8Then the earth trembled and quaked: the foundations of the heauens mooued and shooke, because he was angrie.
22:9Smoke went out at his nostrels, and consuming fire out of his mouth: coles were kindled thereat.
22:10He bowed the heauens also, and came downe, and darkenes was vnder his feete.
22:11And he rode vpon Cherub and did flie, and hee was seene vpon the winges of the winde.
22:12And hee made darkenesse a Tabernacle round about him, euen the gatherings of waters, and the cloudes of the ayre.
22:13At the brightnesse of his presence the coles of fire were kindled.
22:14The Lord thundred from heauen, and the most hie gaue his voyce.
22:15He shot arrowes also, and scattered them: to wit, lightning, and destroyed them.
22:16The chanels also of the sea appeared, euen the foundations of the worlde were discouered by the rebuking of the Lord, and at the blast of the breath of his nostrels.
22:17He sent from aboue, and tooke me: hee drewe me out of many waters.
22:18He deliuered me from my strong enemie, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
22:19They preuented me in the day of my calamitie, but the Lord was my stay,
22:20And brought me foorth into a large place: he deliuered me, because he fauoured me.
22:21The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnesse: according to the purenesse of mine handes he recompensed me.
22:22For I kept the wayes of the Lord, and did not wickedly against my God.
22:23For all his lawes were before me, and his statutes: I did not depart therefrom.
22:24I was vpright also towarde him, and haue kept me from my wickednesse.
22:25Therefore the Lord did reward me according to my righteousnesse, according to my purenesse before his eyes.
22:26With the godly thou wilt shewe thy selfe godly: with the vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright.
22:27With the pure thou wilt shewe thy selfe pure, and with the frowarde thou wilt shew thy selfe frowarde.
22:28Thus thou wilt saue the poore people: but thine eyes are vpon the hautie to humble them.
22:29Surely thou art my light, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkenes.
22:30For by thee haue I broken through an hoste, and by my God haue I leaped ouer a wall.
22:31The way of God is vncorrupt: the word of the Lord is tryed in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him.
22:32For who is God besides the Lord? and who is mightie, saue our God?
22:33God is my strength in battel, and maketh my way vpright.
22:34He maketh my feete like hindes feete, and hath set me vpon mine hie places.
22:35He teacheth mine handes to fight, so that a bowe of brasse is broken with mine armes.
22:36Thou hast also giuen me the shield of thy saluation, and thy louing kindnesse hath caused me to increase.
22:37Thou hast inlarged my steppes vnder me, and mine heeles haue not slid.
22:38I haue pursued mine enemies and destroyed them, and haue not turned againe vntill I had consumed them.
22:39Yea, I haue consumed them and thrust them through, and they shall not arise, but shall fall vnder my feete.
22:40For thou hast girded me with power to battell, and them that arose against me, hast thou subdued vnder me.
22:41And thou hast giuen me the neckes of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
22:42They looked about, but there was none to saue them, euen vnto the Lord, but he answered them not.
22:43Then did I beate them as small as the dust of the earth: I did treade them flat as the clay of the streete, and did spread them abroad.
22:44Thou hast also deliuered me from the contentions of my people: thou hast preserued me to be the head ouer nations: the people which I knewe not, doe serue me.
22:45Strangers shalbe in subiection to me: assoone as they heare, they shall obey me.
22:46Strangers shall shrinke away, and feare in their priuie chambers.
22:47Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength: and God, euen the force of my saluation be exalted.
22:48It is God that giueth me power to reuenge me, and subdue the people vnder me,
22:49And rescueth me from mine enemies: (thou also hast lift me vp from them that rose against me, thou hast deliuered me from the cruell man.
22:50Therefore I will praise thee, O Lord amog the nations, and will sing vnto thy Name)
22:51He is the tower of saluation for his King, and sheweth mercie to his anointed, euen to Dauid, and to his seede for euer.

22:1And Dauid spake the wordes of thys songe vnto the Lorde, what tyme the Lorde had delyuered him out of the hande of all his enemyes, and out of the hande of Saul.
22:2And he sayde: the Lorde is my rocke, and my castel, and my delyuerer.
22:3God is my strength, in him will I trust: he is my shylde, and the horne of my saluacyon: my worshyp and my refuge: my sauiour, thou shalt saue me from wronge.
22:4I will call on the Lorde which is prayse worthy, and so shall I be saued from myne enemyes.
22:5For the corrupcyons of deeth closed me about: the floudes of Belial put me in feare.
22:6The sorowes of hell compassed me about: the snares of deeth ouertoke me.
22:7In my tribulacyon will I call vpon the Lorde, and crye to my God. And he shall heare my voyce out of his temple, and my crye shall enter into his eares.
22:8The erth trimbled and quaked: the foundacyons of heuen moued and shoke, whan he was angrye.
22:9Smoke went vp in his wrath, and consumynge fyre out of hys mouth, coles were kendled therof.
22:10And he bowed heuen, and came downe, and there was darcknesse vnder his fete.
22:11And he satt vpon Cherub & dyd flye he was sene caryed vpon the wynges of the wynde.
22:12He made darcknesse a tabernacle rounde about hym, with waters geathered to geather in thycke cloudes.
22:13Thorowe the bryghtnesse of his presence were the fyre coles kyndled.
22:14God thundred from heuen, and he that is most hye, doth put out his voyce.
22:15He shotte arowes, and skatered them: he hurled lyghtenynge, and ouerthrewe them.
22:16The flowinges of the see appered, and the foundacyons of the worlde were sene, by the reason of the rebukinge of the Lorde, and thorowe the blastynge of the breeth of hys nostrelles.
22:17He shall sende from heauen, and fett me, he shall plucke me out of many waters.
22:18He shall delyuer me from my myghtye aduersarye, and fro myne enemyes, for they are to stronge for me.
22:19When they had ouertaken me in the daye of my calamytye the Lorde stayed me vp.
22:20For he brought me out into rowmth: he delyuered me, because he had a loue vnto me.
22:21The Lord will rewarde me accordinge to my ryghtwysnesse: accordynge to the purenesse of my handes will he recompense me.
22:22For I haue kept the wayes of the Lorde, & done no wyckednesse agaynst my God.
22:23For all his lawes are in my syght, & his statutes wyll not I put awaye fro me.
22:24In his syght also haue I bene vndefyled, & haue kepte me fro myne awne iniquite.
22:25And the Lorde dyd to me agayne, accordynge to my ryghtwesnes, euen after my purenesse in his eyesyght.
22:26Wyth the godly thou shalt be godly, and wt the man that is vncorrupt, thou shalt be vncorrupt.
22:27With the pure thou shalt be pure, & with the frowarde thou shalt be frowarde.
22:28And the pore people that are in aduersyte, thou shalt helpe. And on the proude shalt thou cast thine eyes.
22:29Thou art my light O Lorde: the Lorde shall lyght my darknesse.
22:30For with thy helpe I will runne thorowe an Hoste of men, and in my God wyll I sprynge ouer a walle
22:31God is vncorrupt in his waye: the worde of the Lorde is tryed in the fyre: he is the defender of all them that trust in him.
22:32For who is a God, saue the Lorde? & who is myghtie, saue oure God?
22:33God strengtheth me with power, and ryddyth the waye in battell cleare before me.
22:34He maketh my fete lyke hartes fete, & setteth me fast vpon my hye holde.
22:35He teacheth my handes to fyght, that euen a bowe of stele is to weake for myne armes.
22:36Thou hast geuen me the shild of thy saluacyon, and with thy louinge mekenesse thou dost multiplie me.
22:37Thou shalt make me space to walke in, and my legges shall not fayle me.
22:38I wyll folowe vpon myne enemyes and destroye them, and turne not agayne vntyll I haue consumed them.
22:39I will waste them and smyte them, that they shall not be able to aryse: yee, they shall fall vnder my fete.
22:40Thou hast gyrded me about with myght to battell, and them that roase agaynst me, hast thou subdued vnder me.
22:41And thou madest myne enemyes (& them that hated me) to turne their backes to me, that I myght destroye them.
22:42They loke for helpe, but there is none to saue them: Yee, euen vnto the Lorde do they crye, but he heareth them not.
22:43I will beate them as smalle as the dust of the erth: I will stampe them as the dyrte of the strete, and will spreade them abroade.
22:44Thou shalt delyuer me from the dissencyon of my people: thou shalt kepe me to be an heed ouer nacyons: the people whych I knewe not, shall serue me.
22:45Straunge children dissemble with me. At the hearynge of the eare they obeye me.
22:46Straunge chyldren will shryncke awaye, and they shalbe smytten with feare in their preuye chamber.
22:47God is a lyue, and blessed be my maker: magnifyed be God, my most stronge saluacion.
22:48It is God that aduengeth me, and bryngeth downe the people vnder me.
22:49He delyuereth me fro myne enemyes, thou also shalt lyfte me vpon hye from them that ryse agaynst me, thou shalt delyuer me from the wicked men.
22:50And therfore I will prayse the (O Lorde) amonge the nacyons, and wyll synge vnto thy name.
