21:1	And it came to passe after these things, that Naboth the Iezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Iezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
21:2	And Ahab spake vnto Naboth, saying, Giue me thy vineyard, that I may haue it for a garden of herbes, because it is neere vnto my house, and I will giue thee for it a better vineyard then it: or if it seeme good to thee, I will giue thee the worth of it in money.
21:3	And Naboth said to Ahab, The Lord forbid it mee, that I should giue the inheritance of my fathers vnto thee.
21:4	And Ahab came into his house, heauie, and displeased, because of the word which Naboth the Iezreelite had spoken to him: for he had saide, I will not giue thee the inheritance of my fathers: and he laid him downe vpon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eate no bread.
21:5	But Iezebel his wife came to him, and said vnto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
21:6	And he said vnto her, Because I spake vnto Naboth the Iezreelite, and said vnto him, Giue mee thy vineyard for money, or else if it please thee, I will giue thee another vineyard for it: And he answered, I wil not giue thee my vineyard.
21:7	And Iezebel his wife saide vnto him, Doest thou now gouerne the kingdome of Israel? Arise, and eate bread, and let thine heart bee merrie: I will giue thee the vineyard of Naboth the Iezreelite.
21:8	So shee wrote letters in Ahabs name, and sealed them with his seale, and sent the letters vnto the Elders, and to the Nobles that were in his citie dwelling with Naboth.
21:9	And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaime a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
21:10	And set two men, sonnes of Belial before him, to beare witnes against him, saying, Thou diddest blaspheme God and the king: and then carie him out, and stone him that he may die.
21:11	And the men of his citie, euen the Elders and the Nobles who were the inhabitants in his citie, did as Iezebel had sent vnto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent vnto them.
21:12	They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
21:13	And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sate before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, euen against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they caried him foorth out of the citie, and stoned him with stones, that hee died.
21:14	Then they sent to Iezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
21:15	And it came to passe when Iezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, that Iezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the Uineyard of Naboth the Iezreelite, which hee refused to giue thee for money: for Naboth is not aliue, but dead.
21:16	And it came to passe when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose vp to goe downe to the Uineyard of Naboth the Iezreelite, to take possession of it.
21:17	And the word of the Lord came to Eliiah the Tishbite, saying,
21:18	Arise, goe downe to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, hee is in the Uineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone downe to possesse it.
21:19	And thou shalt speake vnto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speake vnto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord; In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, shall dogges licke thy blood, euen thine.
21:20	And Ahab said to Eliiah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemie? And he answered, I haue found thee: because thou hast sold thy selfe to worke euill in the sight of the Lord.
21:21	Behold, I will bring euill vpon thee, and will take away thy posteritie, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut vp, and left in Israel,
21:22	And will make thine house like the house of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the sonne of Ahiiah, for the prouocation wherewith thou hast prouoked mee to anger, and made Israel to sinne.
21:23	And of Iezebel also spake the Lord, saying, The dogs shall eate Iezebel by the wall of Iezreel.
21:24	Him that dieth of Ahab in the citie, the dogs shall eate: and him that dieth in the field, shall the foules of the aire eat.
21:25	But there was none like vnto Ahab, which did sell himselfe to worke wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, whom Iezebel his wife stirred vp.
21:26	And hee did very abominably in following Idoles, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.
21:27	And it came to passe when Ahab heard those wordes, that hee rent his clothes, and put sackecloth vpon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
21:28	And the word of the Lord came to Eliiah the Tishbite, saying,
21:29	Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himselfe before mee? because hee humbleth himselfe before mee, I will not bring the euill in his dayes: but in his sonnes dayes will I bring the euill vpon his house.

21:4	Then Ahab came into his house heauie and in displeasure, because of the word which Naboth the Izreelite had spoken vnto him. for hee had sayde, I will not giue thee the inheritance of my fathers, and he lay vpon his bed, and turned his face and would eate no bread.
21:5	Then Iezebel his wife came to him and said vnto him, Why is thy spirit so sad that thou eatest no bread?
21:6	And he said vnto her, Because I spake vnto Naboth the Izreelite, and sayd vnto him, Giue me thy vineyard for money, or if it please thee, I will giue thee another vineyard for it: but he answered, I wil not giue thee my vineyarde.
21:7	Then Iezebel his wife sayde vnto him, Doest thou nowe gouerne the kingdome of Israel? vp, eate bread, and be of good cheere, I will giue thee the vineyard of Naboth the Izreelite.
21:8	So she wrote letters in Ahabs name, and sealed them with his seale, and sent the letters vnto the Elders, and to the nobles that were in his citie dwelling with Naboth.
21:9	And shee wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaime a fast, and set Naboth among the chiefe of the people,
21:10	And set two wicked men before him, and let them witnesse against him, saying, Thou diddest blaspheme God and the King: then cary him out, and stone him that he may dye.
21:11	And the men of his citie, euen the Elders and gouernours, which dwelt in his citie, did as Iezebel had sent vnto them: as it was written in the letters, which she had sent vnto them.
21:12	They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth among the chiefe of the people,
21:13	And there came two wicked men, and sate before him: and the wicked men witnessed against Naboth in the presence of the people saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the King. Then they caried him away out of the citie, and stoned him with stones, that he dyed.
21:14	Then they sent to Iezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned and is dead.
21:15	And when Iezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, Iezebel sayd to Ahab, Vp, and take possession of the vineyarde of Naboth the Izreelite, which he refused to giue thee for money: for Naboth is not aliue, but is dead.
21:16	And when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he rose to go downe to the vineyard of Naboth the Izreelite, to take possession of it.
21:17	And the word of the Lord came vnto Eliiah the Tishbite, saying,
21:18	Arise, goe downe to meete Ahab King of Israel, which is in Samaria. loe, he is in the vineyarde of Naboth, whither he is gone downe to take possession of it.
21:19	Therefore shalt thou say vnto him, Thus sayth the Lord, Hast thou killed, and also gotten possession? And thou shalt speake vnto him, saying, Thus sayth the Lord, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, shall dogs licke euen thy blood also.
21:20	And Ahab sayd to Eliiah, Hast thou found mee, O mine enemie? And he answered, I haue found thee: for thou hast solde thy selfe to worke wickednes in the sight of the Lord.
21:21	Beholde, I will bring euill vpon thee, and wil take away thy posteritie, and wil cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, as well him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel,
21:22	And I wil make thine house like the house of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the sonne of Ahiiah, for the prouocation wherewith thou hast prouoked, and made Israel to sinne.
21:23	And also of Iezebel spake the Lord, saying, The dogs shall eate Iezebel, by the wall of Izreel.
21:24	The dogs shall eate him of Ahabs stocke, that dyeth in the citie: and him that dyeth in the fieldes, shall the foules of the ayre eate.
21:25	(But there was none like Ahab, who did fell him selfe, to worke wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: whom Iezebel his wife prouoked.
21:26	For he did exceeding abominably in following idoles, according to all that the Amorites did, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.)
21:27	Nowe when Ahab heard those wordes, he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth vpon him and fasted, and lay in sackecloth and went softely.
21:28	And the worde of the Lord came to Eliiah the Tishbite, saying,
21:29	Seest thou how Ahab is humbled before me? because he submitteth himselfe before me, I will not bring that euill in his dayes, but in his sonnes dayes wil I bring euill vpon his house.


21:1	After these thynges, it chaunced, that Naboth the Iezrahelite had a vyneyarde in Iezrahel, harde by the palace of Ahab kyng of Samaria.
21:2	And Ahab spake vnto Naboth, sayenge. Geue me thy vyneyarde, that I maye make me a garden of yerbes therof, because it lyeth so nye my house: & I will geue the for it a better vyneyarde then it is: or rather yf it please the, I will geue the, the worthe of it in money.
21:3	And Naboth sayde to Ahab: the Lorde forbyd the from me, that I shulde geue the enheritaunce of my father vnto the.
21:4	And Ahab came into hys house heuye. & euell a payde, because of the worde which Naboth the Iezrahelite had spoken to him, for he had sayde: I wyll not geue the the enheritaunce of my fathers. And he layde him downe vpon his bed, and turned awaye his face, and wolde eate no bread.
21:5	But Iezabell hys wyfe came to him, and sayde vnto hym: why is thy sprete so waywarde, that thou eatest no breade?
21:6	And he sayde vnto her: For I spake vnto Naboth the Iezraelite, and sayde vnto hym: geue me thy vyneyarde for money: or else yf it please the, I wyl geue the another vyneyarde for it. And he answered: I wyl not geue the my vyneyarde.
21:7	And Iezabell his wyfe sayde vnto hym: Dost thou thus gouerne the kyngedom of Israel? vp, & eate bread, and set thyne hert at rest, I will geue the, the vyneyarde of Naboth the Iezraelite.
21:8	And so she wrote a letter in Ahabs name, and sealed it wyth hys seale and sent the lettre vnto the elders and to the nobles that were in hys cytye dwellinge wyth Naboth.
21:9	And she wrote in the letter, sayenge: proclayme a fast, and set Naboth on hye amonge the people,
21:10	and set two vnthriftes before him, to beare witnesse agaynst him, sayenge: thou dydest blaspheme God and the kyng. And then carye hym out, and stone hym to deeth.
21:11	And the men of his cyte: that is to saye, which dwelt in his cytie, did as Iezabel had sent vnto them, and as it was written in the letter whych she had sent vnto them.
21:12	They proclamed fastyng, and set Naboth among the chefe of the people,
21:13	& there came in two men (the children of Belial) and sate before him. And the two vnthriftie persones wytnessed agaynst Naboth, in the presence of the people, sayeng: Naboth dyd blaspheme God and the kyng, And they caried hym out of the cytie, and stoned hym wyth stones that he dyed.
21:14	And then they sent to Iezabel, sayenge: Naboth is stoned to dethe.
21:15	And it fortuned when Iezabel heard that Naboth was stoned to deeth: she sayde to Ahab: vp, and take possession of the vyneyarde of Naboth, the Iezrahelite, which he denied to geue the for money, for Naboth is not aliue, but deed.
21:16	And when Ahab hearde that Naboth was deed, he stode vp to go downe to the vyneyarde of Naboth the Iezrahelite, and to take possession of it.
21:17	And the worde of the Lorde came vnto Elia the Thesbite, sayeng:
21:18	vp and go downe to mete Ahab kynge of Israel, which is in Samaria. For lo, he is gone downe to the vineyarde of Naboth: to take possession of it.
21:19	And therfore shalt thou saye vnto him thus sayth the Lorde: hast thou kylled, & gotten possession? And thou shalt speake vnto him sayeng: thus sayth the Lorde in the place where dogges lycked the bloud of Naboth, shall dogges licke euen thy bloud also.
21:20	And Ahab sayde to Elia: hast thou founde me, o thou myne enemye? He answered: I haue founde the: for thou art euen solde to worcke wickednesse in the syght of the Lorde.
21:21	Beholde, I will bring euell vpon the, and will make cleane riddance of thy posterite & wil destroye from Ahab, euen him that maketh water agaynst the wall, & him that is shut vp & left behynde in Israel:
21:22	& will make thyne house, lyke the house of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, & lyke the house of Baasa the sonne of Ahia, for the prouocacion, wherwith thou hast prouoked, and made Israel to synne.
21:23	And of Iezabel spake the Lorde sayeng: dogges shall eate Iezabell, in the possession of Iezrahel.
21:24	And he that dyeth of Ahab in the towne, him shal dogges eate: & he that dyeth in the feldes, him shal the foules of the ayre eate.
21:25	But there was none lyke Ahab which dyd euen sell hym selfe, to worcke wyckednesse in the syght of the Lorde, and that because Iezabel hys wyfe prycked hym forwarde.
21:26	He dyd exceadynge abhominablye, in folowyng foule Idoles, according to all thynges, as did the Ammorites whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.
21:27	And it fortuned, that when Ahab hearde those wordes, he rent hys clothes, and put sackecloth about his flesh, and fasted, and laye in sack and went bare fote.
21:28	And the worde of the Lorde came to Elia, the Thesbyte, sayenge:
21:29	seest thou how Ahab humbleth hym selfe before me? because he so submytteth hym selfe before me, I wyl not bringe that euell in his dayes: but in his sonnes dayes, wyll I bringe euell vpon hys house.
