| 13:1 | In the three and twentieth yeere of Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah king of Iudah, Iehoahaz the sonne of Iehu beganne to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned seuenteene yeeres. |
| 13:2 | And hee did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord, and followed the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne, he departed not there from. |
| 13:3 | And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and hee deliuered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the sonne of Hazael, all their dayes. |
| 13:4 | And Iehoahaz besought the Lord, and the Lord hearkened vnto him: for hee saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them. |
| 13:5 | (And the Lord gaue Israel a sauiour, so that they went out from vnder the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents as before-time. |
| 13:6 | Neuerthelesse, they departed not from the sinnes of the house of Ieroboam, who made Israel sinne, but walked therein: and there remained the groue also in Samaria.) |
| 13:7 | Neither did he leaue of the people to Iehoahaz, but fiftie horsemen, and tenne charets, and tenne thousand footmen: for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing. |
| 13:8 | Nowe the rest of the actes of Iehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel? |
| 13:9 | And Iehoahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria, and Ioash his sonne reigned in his stead. |
| 13:10 | In the thirty and seuenth yeere of Ioash king of Iudah, beganne Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteene yeeres. |
| 13:11 | And hee did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord; hee departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, who made Israel sinne: but hee walked therein. |
| 13:12 | And the rest of the actes of Ioash, and all that hee did, and his might, wherewith hee fought against Amaziah king of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? |
| 13:13 | And Ioash slept with his fathers, and Ieroboam sate vpon his throne: and Ioash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel. |
| 13:14 | Nowe Elisha was fallen sicke, of his sicknesse whereof he died, and Ioash the king of Israel came downe vnto him, and wept ouer his face, and said, O my father, my father, the charet of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. |
| 13:15 | And Elisha said vnto him, Take bowe and arrowes. And he tooke vnto him bowe and arrowes. |
| 13:16 | And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand vpon the bowe. And he put his hand vpon it: and Elisha put his hands vpon the kings hands. |
| 13:17 | And he sayd, Open the window Eastward. And hee opened it. Then Elisha sayd, Shoote. And he shot. And he said; The arrowe of the Lords deliuerance, and the arrowe of deliuerance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou haue consumed them. |
| 13:18 | And he sayd, Take the arrowes. And he tooke them. And hee said vnto the king of Israel, Smite vpon the ground. And he smote thrise, and stayed. |
| 13:19 | And the man of God was wroth with him, and saide, Thou shouldest haue smitten fiue or sixe times, then haddest thou smitten Syria till thou haddest consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice. |
| 13:20 | And Elisha died, and they buried him: And the bands of the Moabites inuaded the land at the comming in of the yeere. |
| 13:21 | And it came to passe as they were burying a man, that behold, they spyed a band of men, and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let downe, and touched the bones of Elisha, he reuiued, and stood vp on his feete. |
| 13:22 | But Hazael king of Syria, oppressed Israel all the dayes of Iehoahaz. |
| 13:23 | And the Lord was gracious vnto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect vnto them, because of his couenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Iacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast hee them from his presence as yet. |
| 13:24 | So Hazael the king of Syria dyed, and Benhadad his sonne reigned in his stead. |
| 13:25 | And Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz tooke againe out of the hand of Benhadad the sonne of Hazael, the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Iehoahaz his father, by warre: three times did Ioash beat him, and recouered the cities of Israel. |

| 13:15 | Then Elisha sayde vnto him, Take a bowe and arrowes. And he tooke vnto him bowe and arrowes. |
| 13:16 | And he sayde to the King of Israel, Put thine hand vpon the bowe. And he put his hand vpon it. And Elisha put his hands vpon the Kings hands, |
| 13:17 | And saide, Open the windowe Eastward. And when he had opened it, Elisha said, Shoote. And he shot. And he sayd, Beholde the arrowe of the Lordes deliuerance and the arrowe of deliuerance against Aram: for thou shalt smite the Aramites in Aphek, till thou hast consumed them. |

| 13:21 | And as they were burying a man, behold, they saw the souldiers: therfore they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha. And when the man was downe, and touched the bones of Elisha, he reuiued and stoode vpon his feete. |
| 13:22 | But Hazael King of Aram vexed Israel all the dayes of Iehoahaz. |
| 13:23 | Therefore the Lord had mercy on them and pitied them, and had respect vnto them because of his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from him as yet. |
| 13:24 | So Hazael the King of Aram dyed: and Ben-hadad his sonne reigned in his stead. |
| 13:25 | Therefore Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz returned, and tooke out of the hand of Ben-hadad the sonne of Hazael the cities which he had taken away by warre out of the hand of Iehoahaz his father: for three times did Ioash beate him, and restored the cities vnto Israel. |

| 13:4 | And Iehoahaz besought the Lorde, & the Lorde heard him. For he considred the trouble of Israel, wher with the king of Siria troubled them. |
| 13:5 | And the Lorde gaue Israel a delyuerer, so that they went out from vnder the subieccyon of the Sirians. And the chyldren of Israel dwelt in theyr tentes as before tyme. |
| 13:6 | Neuerthelesse they departed not from the synnes of the house of Ieroboam, whych made Israel synne, but walked in them. And there remayned an Idols groue styll also in Samaria. |
| 13:7 | Neither dyd he leaue of the people to Iehoahaz, but fyftye horsemen ten charettes, & ten thousande fotemen for the kynge of Siria destroyed them, and made them lyke thresshed dust. |
| 13:8 | The rest of the wordes that concerne Iehoahaz, and all that he dyd, and hys power, are they not wrytten in the boke of the Chronycles of the kynges of Israel? |
| 13:9 | And Iehoahaz slepte wyth hys fathers, and they buryed hym in Samaria, and Ioas his sonne raygned in hys steade. |
| 13:10 | In the .xxxvij. yeare of Ioas kynge of Iuda, beganne Iehoas the sonne of Iehoahaz to raygne ouer Israel in Samaria syxtene yeare, |

| 13:12 | The remnaunt of the wordes that concerne Ioas & all that he dyd, & hys power wher wyth he fought agaynst Amaziahu kyng of Iuda are they not wrytten in the chronycle boke of the kynges of Israel? |
| 13:13 | And Ioas slepte with his fathers, and Ieroboam sat vpon his seate. And Ioas was buried in Samaria amonge the kynges of Israel. |
| 13:14 | When Elisa was fallen sycke of hys sycknesse (wher of he dyed) Ioas the kinge of Israel came downe vnto hym, & wepte before him, & sayd: O my father, my father, the charet of Israel, & the horsemen of the same. |
| 13:15 | Elisa sayde vnto hym: take bowe & arowes. |
| 13:16 | And he toke vnto him bowe & arowes. And he sayde to the kyng of Israel: put thine hand vpon the bowe, & he put his hande vpon it. And Elisa put his handes vpon the kinges handes, |
| 13:17 | & sayde: open a windowe eastward: & whan he had opened it, Elisa sayde: shote, & he shotte. And he sayd: the arowe of helth of the Lord: and the arowe of helth agaynst Siria, for thou shalt smyte Siria in Aphek, tyll thou haue made an ende of them. |
| 13:18 | And he sayd: take the arowes: & he toke them: And he sayd vnto the kyng of Israel: smyte the grounde: & he smote thrise and ceased. |
| 13:19 | And the man of God was angrie wt him, & sayd: thou shuldest haue smyten fyue or syxe tymes & then thou haddest smytten Siria tyll thou haddest made an ende of them: where nowe thou shalt smyte Siria but thrise. |
| 13:20 | And so Elisa dyed and they buryed hym, & the soudiares of the Moabites came into the land, the same yeare. |
| 13:21 | And it chaunced as some of them were burienge a man, and spyed the soudyars, they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisa. And whan the man was rolled downe, and touched the body of Elisa he reuyued, and stode vpon hys fete. |
| 13:22 | But Hazael vexed Israel, all the dayes of Iehoahaz. |
| 13:23 | And the Lord had mercye on them & pitied them, & had respecte vnto them, because of his appointment made wt Abraham, Isahac & Iacob, and wolde not destroye them, nether cast he them from hym as yet. |
| 13:24 | So Hazael the kynge of Siria dyed and Benhadad his sonne raygned in his steade. |
| 13:25 | And Iehoas the sonne of Iehoahaz went agayne, and toke out of the hande of Benhadad the sonne of Hazael, the cyties which he had taken awaye out of the hande of Iehoahaz hys father, in warre: for thre tymes dyd Ioas beate him, and restored the cyties vnto Israel agayne. |
