2 Kings - Chapter: 21

>
21:1Manasseh was twelue yeres olde when hee beganne to reigne, and reigned fiftie and fiue yeeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Hephzibah.
21:2And hee did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.
21:3For he built vp againe the high places, which Hezekiah his father had destroyed, and hee reared vp altars for Baal, and made a groue, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen, and serued them.
21:4And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord sayd, In Ierusalem will I put my Name.
21:5And he built altars for all the host of heauen, in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
21:6And he made his sonne passe thorow the fire, and obserued times, and vsed enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits, and wizards: he wrought much wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, to prouoke him to anger.
21:7And he set a grauen image of the groue that he had made, in the house, of which the Lord said to Dauid, and to Solomon his sonne, In this house and in Ierusalem, which I haue chosen out of all tribes of Israel, wil I put my Name for euer:
21:8Neither will I make the feete of Israel mooue any more out of the land, which I gaue their fathers: onely if they will obserue to doe according to all that I haue commanded them, and according to all the Law, that my seruant Moses commanded them.
21:9But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to doe more euill then did the nations, whome the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.
21:10And the Lord spake by his seruants the Prophets, saying,
21:11Because Manasseh king of Iudah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly aboue all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Iudah also to sinne with his idoles:
21:12Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such euill vpon Ierusalem and Iudah, that whosoeuer heareth of it, both his eares shall tingle.
21:13And I will stretch ouer Ierusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Ierusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it and turning it vpside downe.
21:14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliuer them into the hand of their enemies, and they shall become a pray and a spoile to all their enemies,
21:15Because they haue done that which was euill in my sight, and haue prouoked me to anger since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, euen vnto this day.
21:16Moreouer, Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Ierusalem from one end to another, beside his sinne wherwith he made Iudah to sinne, in doing that which was euill in the sight of the Lord.
21:17Now the rest of the actes of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sinne that he sinned, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Iudah?
21:18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his owne house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his sonne reigned in his stead.
21:19Amon was twentie and two yeres old when he began to reigne, and he reigned two yeeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Iotbah.
21:20And he did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh did.
21:21And he walked in all the wayes that his father walked in, and serued the idoles that his father serued, and worshipped them:
21:22And he forsooke the Lord God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.
21:23And the seruants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his owne house.
21:24And the people of the land slew al them that had conspired against king Amon, and the people of the land made Iosiah his sonne king in his stead.
21:25Now the rest of the acts of Amon, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the chronicles of the kings of Iudah?
21:26And he was buried in his sepulchre, in the garden of Uzza, and Iosiah his sonne reigned in his stead.

21:1Manasseh was twelue yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned fiftie and fiue yeere in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Hephzi-bah.
21:2And he did euill in the sight of the Lord after the abomination of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
21:3For he went backe and built the hie places, which Hezekiah his father had destroyed: and he erected vp altars for Baal, and made a groue, as did Ahab King of Israel, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen and serued them.
21:4Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, of the which the Lord saide, In Ierusalem will I put my Name.
21:5And he built altars for al the hoste of ye heauen in the two courtes of the house of the Lord.
21:6And he caused his sonnes to passe through the fire, and gaue him selfe to witchcraft and sorcerie, and he vsed them that had familiar spirits and were soothsayers, and did much euill in the sight of the Lord to anger him.
21:7And he set the image of the groue, that he had made, in the house, whereof ye Lord had saide to Dauid and to Salomon his sonne, In this house and in Ierusalem, which I haue chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my Name for euer.
21:8Neither will I make the feete of Israel, mooue any more out of the lande, which I gaue their fathers: so that they will obserue and doe all that I haue commanded them, and according to all the Lawe that my seruant Moses commanded them.
21:9Yet they obeyed not, but Manasseh ledde them out of the way, to doe more wickedly then did the heathen people, whom the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.
21:10Therefore the Lord spake by his seruants the Prophets, saying,
21:11Because that Manasseh King of Iudah hath done such abominations, and hath wrought more wickedly then al that the Amorites (which were before him) did, and hath made Iudah sinne also with his idoles,
21:12Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Beholde, I will bring an euill vpon Ierusalem and Iudah, that who so heareth of it, both his eares shall tingle.
21:13And I will stretch ouer Ierusalem the line of Samaria, and the plommet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Ierusalem, as a man wipeth a dish, which he wipeth, and turneth it vpside downe.
21:14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliuer them into the hande of their enemies, and they shalbe robbed and spoyled of all their aduersaries,
21:15Because they haue done euil in my sight, and haue prouoked mee to anger, since the time their fathers came out of Egypt vntill this day.
21:16Moreouer Manasseh shed innocent blood exceeding much, till hee replenished Ierusalem from corner to corner, beside his sinne wherwith he made Iudah to sinne, and to doe euill in the sight of the Lord.
21:17Concerning the rest of the actes of Manasseh, and all that hee did, and his sinne that he sinned, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
21:18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, euen in the garden of Vzza: and Amon his sonne reigned in his steade.
21:19Amon was two and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and hee reygned two yeere in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Iotbah.
21:20And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh did.
21:21For hee walked in all the way that his father walked in, and serued the idoles that his father serued, and worshipped them.
21:22And he forsooke the Lord God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.
21:23And the seruantes of Amon conspired against him, and slewe the King in his owne house.
21:24And the people of the land slewe all them that had conspired against King Amon, and the people made Iosiah his sonne King in his steade.
21:25Concerning the rest of the actes of Amon, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
21:26And they buried him in his sepulchre in the garden of Vzza: and Iosiah his sonne reigned in his steade.

21:1Manasse was twelue yere olde, when he beganne to raygne and raygned fyfty & fyue yere in Ierusalem: hys mothers name also was Hephziba.
21:2And he dyd euell in the syght of the Lorde, euen after the abhominacyons of the Hethen whom the Lorde cast out before the chyldren of Israel.
21:3For he went and buylt vp the hyllaulters, which Hezekia hys father had destroyed. And he reared vp aulters for Baal, and made Idoll groues (as dyd Ahab kynge of Israel,) and worshypped all the Hoste of heauen, and serued them.
21:4And he buylt aulters in the house of the Lorde, of which the Lorde sayde: in Ierusalem wyll I put my name.
21:5And he buylt aulters for all the Host of heauen, euen in two courtes of the house of the Lorde.
21:6And he offered hys sonnes in fyre, and gaue hede vnto witchcraft and sorcery, and mayntened workers with spretes, and tellers of fortunes: and brought moche wyckednesse in the syght of the Lorde to angre hym.
21:7And he put an ymage of a groue (that he had made) euen in the temple, of which the Lorde had sayde to Dauid and to Salomon his sonne, in thys house and in Ierusalem (which I haue chosen out of all trybes of Israel) wyll I put my name for euer.
21:8Nether will I make the fete of Israel moue any moare out of the lande, which I gaue theyr fathers: so that they wyll obserue and do all that I haue commaunded them, and accordynge to all the lawe that my seruaunt Moses commaunded them.
21:9But they herkened not: and Manasse ledd them out of the waye to do more wyckedlye then dyd the hethen people, whom the Lord destroyed before the chyldren of Israel.
21:10And the Lorde spake by his seruauntes the prophetes, sayinge:
21:11because Manasse kynge of Iuda hath done soche abhominacions, and hath wrought more wyckedlye then all that the Amorites (which were before hym) dyd: & hath made Iuda synne also with hys Idoles.
21:12Therfore thus sayth the Lorde God of Israel. Beholde, I wyll brynge soche euell vpon Ierusalem and Iuda, that who so heareth of it both his eares shall tyngle.
21:13And I wyll stretch ouer Ierusalem the squaryng lyne of Samaria, and the plommeth of the house of Ahab. And I wyll wype out Ierusalem, as a man wypeth a disshe, and when he hath wyped it, turneth it vp syde downe.
21:14And I wyll leaue the remnaunt of myne enheritaunce, and delyuer them into the hande of theyr enemies, and they shalbe robbed and spoyled of all their aduersaries:
21:15euen because they haue done euell in my syght, & haue angred me, sence the tyme theyr fathers came out of Egypte vnto this daye.
21:16And Manasse shedd innocent bloude exceadynge moche, tyll he replenisshed Ierusalem from corner to corner, besyde hys synne wherwith he made Iuda to synne, and to do euell in the syght of the Lorde.
21:17The rest of the wordes that concerne Manasse, and all that he dyd, and hys synne that he synned, are they not written in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Iuda?
21:18And Manasse slepte with hys fathers, and was buryed in his awne house, euen in the garden of Uza: & Amon his sonne raygned in hys steade.
21:19Amon was .xxii. yeare olde when he beganne to raygne, and he raygned two yeare in Ierusalem. Hys mothers name also was Mesulemeth the daughter of Harum of Iotba.
21:20And he did euell in the syght of the Lorde (as his father Manasse dyd,)
21:21and walked in all the waye that his father walked in: & serued the ydoles that his father serued, & worshypped them.
21:22And he forsoke the Lorde God of hys fathers, & walked not in the waye of the Lorde.
21:23And the seruauntes of Amon conspyred agaynst hym, and slue the kyng in hys awne house.
21:24And the people of the lande slue all them that had conspyred agaynst kynge Amon, & the people made Iosia hys sonne kynge, in hys steade.
21:25The rest of the wordes that concerne Amon, what thynges he dyd, are they not wrytten in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Iuda?
21:26And they buryed hym in hys sepulchre, in the garden of Uza: & Iosia hys sonne raygned in hys steade.
