| 13:1 | And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. |
| 13:2 | And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us: |
| 13:3 | And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul. |
| 13:4 | And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people. |
| 13:5 | So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim. |
| 13:6 | And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it. |
| 13:7 | And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. |
| 13:8 | And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. |
| 13:9 | And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. |
| 13:10 | And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. |
| 13:11 | And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day. |
| 13:12 | And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? |
| 13:13 | So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. |
| 13:14 | And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had. |

| 13:2 | ויאמר דויד לכל קהל ישׂראל אם עליכם טוב ומן יהוה אלהינו נפרצה נשׁלחה על אחינו הנשׁארים בכל ארצות ישׂראל ועמהם הכהנים והלוים בערי מגרשׁיהם ויקבצו אלינו׃ |
| 13:3 | ונסבה את ארון אלהינו אלינו כי לא דרשׁנהו בימי שׁאול׃ |
| 13:4 | ויאמרו כל הקהל לעשׂות כן כי ישׁר הדבר בעיני כל העם׃ |
| 13:5 | ויקהל דויד את כל ישׂראל מן שׁיחור מצרים ועד לבוא חמת להביא את ארון האלהים מקרית יערים׃ |
| 13:6 | ויעל דויד וכל ישׂראל בעלתה אל קרית יערים אשׁר ליהודה להעלות משׁם את ארון האלהים יהוה יושׁב הכרובים אשׁר נקרא שׁם׃ |
| 13:7 | וירכיבו את ארון האלהים על עגלה חדשׁה מבית אבינדב ועזא ואחיו נהגים בעגלה׃ |
| 13:8 | ודויד וכל ישׂראל משׂחקים לפני האלהים בכל עז ובשׁירים ובכנרות ובנבלים ובתפים ובמצלתים ובחצצרות׃ |
| 13:9 | ויבאו עד גרן כידן וישׁלח עזא את ידו לאחז את הארון כי שׁמטו הבקר׃ |
| 13:10 | ויחר אף יהוה בעזא ויכהו על אשׁר שׁלח ידו על הארון וימת שׁם לפני אלהים׃ |
| 13:11 | ויחר לדויד כי פרץ יהוה פרץ בעזא ויקרא למקום ההוא פרץ עזא עד היום הזה׃ |
| 13:12 | ויירא דויד את האלהים ביום ההוא לאמר היך אביא אלי את ארון האלהים׃ |
| 13:13 | ולא הסיר דויד את הארון אליו אל עיר דויד ויטהו אל בית עבד אדם הגתי׃ |
| 13:14 | וישׁב ארון האלהים עם בית עבד אדם בביתו שׁלשׁה חדשׁים ויברך יהוה את בית עבד אדם ואת כל אשׁר׃ |
| 13:1 | And David consulteth with the heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, every leader, |
| 13:2 | and David saith to all the assembly of Israel, `If unto you it be good, and from Jehovah our God it hath broken forth -- we send unto our brethren, those left in all the lands of Israel, and with them the priests and the Levites, in the cities of their suburbs, and they are gathered unto us, |
| 13:3 | and we bring round the ark of our God unto us, for we sought Him not in the days of Saul.' |
| 13:4 | And all the assembly say to do so, for the thing is right in the eyes of all the people. |
| 13:5 | And David assembleth all Israel from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering in of Hamath, to bring in the ark of God from Kirjath-Jearim, |
| 13:6 | and David goeth up, and all Israel, to Baalah, unto Kirjath-Jearim that `is' to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God Jehovah, inhabiting the cherubs, where the Name is called on. |
| 13:7 | And they place the ark of God on a new cart, from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio are leading the cart, |
| 13:8 | and David and all Israel are playing before God, with all strength, and with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. |
| 13:9 | And they come in unto the threshing-floor of Chidon, and Uzza putteth forth his hand to seize the ark, for the oxen were released, |
| 13:10 | and the anger of Jehovah is kindled against Uzza, and He smiteth him, because that he hath put forth his hand on the ark, and he dieth there before God. |
| 13:11 | And it is displeasing to David, because Jehovah hath made a breach upon Uzza, and one calleth that place `Breach of Uzza' unto this day. |
| 13:12 | And David feareth God on that day, saying, `How do I bring in unto me the ark of God?' |
| 13:13 | And David hath not turned aside the ark unto himself, unto the city of David, and turneth it aside unto the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. |
| 13:14 | And the ark of God dwelleth with the household of Obed-Edom, in his house, three months, and Jehovah blesseth the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he hath. |
