1 Chronicles - Chapter: 16


16:1	So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.
16:2	And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.
16:3	And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.
16:4	And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:
16:5	Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;
16:6	Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
16:7	Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
16:8	Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
16:9	Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
16:10	Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
16:11	Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
16:12	Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
16:13	O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
16:14	He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
16:15	Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;
16:16	Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
16:17	And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
16:18	Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
16:19	When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.
16:20	And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;
16:21	He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
16:22	Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
16:23	Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.
16:24	Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.
16:25	For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.
16:26	For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
16:27	Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.
16:28	Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
16:29	Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
16:30	Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
16:31	Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.
16:32	Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
16:33	Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.
16:34	O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
16:35	And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.
16:36	Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.
16:37	So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required:
16:38	And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:
16:39	And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
16:40	To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;
16:41	And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever;
16:42	And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.
16:43	And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.


16:1	ויביאו את ארון האלהים ויציגו אתו בתוך האהל אשׁר נטה לו דויד ויקריבו עלות ושׁלמים לפני האלהים׃
16:2	ויכל דויד מהעלות העלה והשׁלמים ויברך את העם בשׁם יהוה׃
16:3	ויחלק לכל אישׁ ישׂראל מאישׁ ועד אשׁה לאישׁ ככר לחם ואשׁפר ואשׁישׁה׃
16:4	ויתן לפני ארון יהוה מן הלוים משׁרתים ולהזכיר ולהודות ולהלל ליהוה אלהי ישׂראל׃
16:5	אסף הראשׁ ומשׁנהו זכריה יעיאל ושׁמירמות ויחיאל ומתתיה ואליאב ובניהו ועבד אדם ויעיאל בכלי נבלים ובכנרות ואסף במצלתים משׁמיע׃
16:6	ובניהו ויחזיאל הכהנים בחצצרות תמיד לפני ארון ברית האלהים׃
16:7	ביום ההוא אז נתן דויד בראשׁ להדות ליהוה ביד אסף ואחיו׃
16:8	הודו ליהוה קראו בשׁמו הודיעו בעמים עלילתיו׃
16:9	שׁירו לו זמרו לו שׂיחו בכל נפלאתיו׃
16:10	התהללו בשׁם קדשׁו ישׂמח לב מבקשׁי יהוה׃
16:11	דרשׁו יהוה ועזו בקשׁו פניו תמיד׃
16:12	זכרו נפלאתיו אשׁר עשׂה מפתיו ומשׁפטי פיהו׃
16:13	זרע ישׂראל עבדו בני יעקב בחיריו׃
16:14	הוא יהוה אלהינו בכל הארץ משׁפטיו׃
16:15	זכרו לעולם בריתו דבר צוה לאלף דור׃
16:16	אשׁר כרת את אברהם ושׁבועתו ליצחק׃
16:17	ויעמידה ליעקב לחק לישׂראל ברית עולם׃
16:18	לאמר לך אתן ארץ כנען חבל נחלתכם׃
16:19	בהיותכם מתי מספר כמעט וגרים׃
16:20	ויתהלכו מגוי אל גוי ומממלכה אל עם אחר׃
16:21	לא הניח לאישׁ לעשׁקם ויוכח עליהם מלכים׃
16:22	אל תגעו במשׁיחי ובנביאי אל תרעו׃
16:23	שׁירו ליהוה כל הארץ בשׂרו מיום אל יום ישׁועתו׃
16:24	ספרו בגוים את כבודו בכל העמים נפלאתיו׃
16:25	כי גדול יהוה ומהלל מאד ונורא הוא על כל אלהים׃
16:26	כי כל אלהי העמים אלילים ויהוה שׁמים עשׂה׃
16:27	הוד והדר לפניו עז וחדוה במקמו׃
16:28	הבו ליהוה משׁפחות עמים הבו ליהוה כבוד ועז׃
16:29	הבו ליהוה כבוד שׁמו שׂאו מנחה ובאו לפניו השׁתחוו ליהוה בהדרת קדשׁ׃
16:30	חילו מלפניו כל הארץ אף תכון תבל בל תמוט׃
16:31	ישׂמחו השׁמים ותגל הארץ ויאמרו בגוים יהוה מלך׃
16:32	ירעם הים ומלואו יעלץ השׂדה וכל אשׁר׃
16:33	אז ירננו עצי היער מלפני יהוה כי בא לשׁפוט את הארץ׃
16:34	הודו ליהוה כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו׃
16:35	ואמרו הושׁיענו אלהי ישׁענו וקבצנו והצילנו מן הגוים להדות לשׁם קדשׁך להשׁתבח בתהלתך׃
16:36	ברוך יהוה אלהי ישׂראל מן העולם ועד העלם ויאמרו כל העם אמן והלל ליהוה׃
16:37	ויעזב שׁם לפני ארון ברית יהוה לאסף ולאחיו לשׁרת לפני הארון תמיד לדבר יום ביומו׃
16:38	ועבד אדם ואחיהם שׁשׁים ושׁמונה ועבד אדם בן ידיתון וחסה לשׁערים׃
16:39	ואת צדוק הכהן ואחיו הכהנים לפני משׁכן יהוה בבמה אשׁר בגבעון׃
16:40	להעלות עלות ליהוה על מזבח העלה תמיד לבקר ולערב ולכל הכתוב בתורת יהוה אשׁר צוה על ישׂראל׃
16:41	ועמהם הימן וידותון ושׁאר הברורים אשׁר נקבו בשׁמות להדות ליהוה כי לעולם חסדו׃
16:42	ועמהם הימן וידותון חצצרות ומצלתים למשׁמיעים וכלי שׁיר האלהים ובני ידותון לשׁער׃
16:43	וילכו כל העם אישׁ לביתו ויסב דויד לברך את ביתו׃


16:1	And they bring in the ark of God, and set it up in the midst of the tent that David hath stretched out for it, and they bring near burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before God;
16:2	and David ceaseth from offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, and blesseth the people in the name of Jehovah,
16:3	and giveth a portion to every man of Israel, both man and woman: to each a cake of bread, and a measure of wine, and a grape-cake.
16:4	And he putteth before the ark of Jehovah, of the Levites, ministers, even to make mention of, and to thank, and to give praise to Jehovah, God of Israel,
16:5	Asaph the head, and his second Zechariah; Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with instruments of psalteries, and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals is sounding;
16:6	and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests `are' with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
16:7	On that day then hath David given at the beginning to give thanks to Jehovah by the hand of Asaph and his brethren: --
16:8	Give thanks to Jehovah, call in His name, Make known among the peoples His doings.
16:9	Sing ye to Him, sing psalms to Him, Meditate on all His wonders.
16:10	Boast yourselves in His holy name, Rejoice doth the heart of those seeking Jehovah.
16:11	Seek ye Jehovah and His strength, Seek His face continually.
16:12	Remember His wonders that He did, His signs, and the judgments of His mouth,
16:13	O seed of Israel, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!
16:14	He `is' Jehovah our God, In all the earth `are' His judgments.
16:15	Remember ye to the age His covenant, The word He commanded -- To a thousand generations,
16:16	Which He hath made with Abraham, And His oath -- to Isaac,
16:17	And He establisheth it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel -- a covenant age-during.
16:18	Saying: To thee I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,
16:19	When ye are few of number, As a little thing, and sojourners in it.
16:20	And they go up and down, From nation unto nation, And from a kingdom unto another people.
16:21	He hath not suffered any to oppress them, And reproveth on their account kings:
16:22	Come not against Mine anointed ones, And against My prophets do not evil.
16:23	Sing to Jehovah, all the earth, Proclaim from day unto day His salvation.
16:24	Rehearse among nations His glory, Among all the peoples His wonders.
16:25	For great `is' Jehovah, and praised greatly, And fearful He `is' above all gods.
16:26	For all gods of the peoples `are' nought, And Jehovah the heavens hath made.
16:27	Honour and majesty `are' before Him, Strength and joy `are' in His place.
16:28	Ascribe to Jehovah, ye families of peoples, Ascribe to Jehovah honour and strength.
16:29	Ascribe to Jehovah the honour of His name, Lift up a present, and come before Him. Bow yourselves to Jehovah, In the beauty of holiness.
16:30	Be pained before Him, all the earth:
16:31	Also, established is the world, It is not moved! The heavens rejoice, and the earth is glad, And they say among nations: Jehovah hath reigned.
16:32	Roar doth the sea, and its fulness, Exult doth the field, and all that `is' in it,
16:33	Then sing do trees of the forest, From the presence of Jehovah, For He hath come to judge the earth!
16:34	Give thanks to Jehovah, for good, For to the age, `is' His kindness,
16:35	And say, Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us, and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to Thy holy name, To triumph in Thy praise.
16:36	Blessed `is' Jehovah, God of Israel, From the age and unto the age;' And all the people say, `Amen,' and have given praise to Jehovah.
16:37	And he leaveth there before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, for Asaph and for his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, according to the matter of a day in its day,
16:38	both Obed-Edom and their brethren, sixty and eight, and Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah for gatekeepers,
16:39	and Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of Jehovah, in a high place that `is' in Gibeon,
16:40	to cause to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah, on the altar of burnt-offering continually, morning and evening, and for all that is written in the law of Jehovah, that He charged on Israel.
16:41	And with them `are' Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest of those chosen, who were defined by name, to give thanks to Jehovah, for to the age `is' His kindness,
16:42	and with them -- Heman and Jeduthun -- `are' trumpets and cymbals for those sounding, and instruments of the song of God, and the sons of Jeduthun `are' at the gate.
16:43	And all the people go, each to his house, and David turneth round to bless his house.
