2 Chronicles - Chapter: 2

2:1And Solomon determined to build an house for the Name of the Lord, and an house for his kingdome.
2:2And Solomon told out threescore and tenne thousand men to beare burdens, and fourescore thousand to hewe in the mountaine, and three thousand and sixe hundred to ouersee them.
2:3And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou diddest deale with Dauid my father, and diddest send him Cedars to builde him an house to dwell therein, euen so deale with me.
2:4Behold, I build an house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burne before him sweet incense, and for the continuall shew-bread, and for the burnt offrings morning and euening, on the Sabbaths, and on the new Moones, and on the solemne feasts of the Lord our God. This is an ordinance for euer to Israel.
2:5And the house which I build, is great: for great is our God aboue all gods.
2:6But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heauen, and heauen of heauens cannot conteine him? Who am I then that I should build him an house? Saue onely to burne sacrifice before him?
2:7Send me now therefore a man, cunning to worke in gold and in siluer, and in brasse, and in yron, and in purple and crimson, and blew, and that can skil to graue, with the cunning men that are with me in Iudah, and in Ierusalem, whome Dauid my father did prouide.
2:8Send me also Cedar trees, firre trees, and Algume trees, out of Lebanon: (for I know that thy seruants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon) and behold, my seruants shalbe with thy seruants,
2:9Euen to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build, shalbe wonderfull great.
2:10And behold, I will giue to thy seruants the hewers that cut timber, twentie thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twentie thousand measures of barley, and twentie thousand baths of wine, and twentie thousand baths of oyle.
2:11Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which hee sent to Solomon: Because the Lord hath loued his people, hee hath made thee King ouer them.
2:12Huram said moreouer, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel that made heauen and earth, who hath giuen to Dauid the King a wise sonne, indued with prudence and vnderstanding, that might build an house for the Lord, and an house for his kingdome.
2:13And now I haue sent a cunning man (indued with vnderstanding) of Huram my fathers:
2:14The sonne of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilfull to worke in golde and in siluer, in brasse, in yron, in stone and in timber, in purple, in blew, and in fine linen, and in crimson: also to graue any maner of grauing, and to find out euery deuice which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord Dauid thy father.
2:15Now therefore the wheate and the barley, the oyle and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send vnto his seruants:
2:16And wee will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need, and wee will bring it to thee in flotes by sea to Ioppa, and thou shalt carie it vp to Ierusalem.
2:17And Solomon numbred all the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, after the numbring wherewith Dauid his father had numbred them: and they were found an hundred and fiftie thousand, and three thousand and sixe hundred.
2:18And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourescore thousand to be hewers in the mountaine, and three thousand and sixe hundred ouerseers to set the people a worke.

2:2And Salomon tolde out seuentie thousand that bare burdens, and fourescore thousande men to hewe stones in the mountaine, and three thousand and sixe hundreth to ouersee them.
2:3And Salomon sent to Huram the king of Tyrus, saying, As thou hast done to Dauid my father, and didst sende him cedar trees to buylde him an house to dwell in, so do to me.
2:4Behold, I buylde an house vnto the Name of the Lord my God, to sanctifie it vnto him, and to burne sweete incense before him, and for the continuall shewbread, and for the burnt offrings of the morning and euening, on the Sabbath dayes, and in the new moneths, and in the solemne feastes of the Lord our God: this is a perpetuall thing for Israel.
2:5And the house which I buylde, is great: for great is our God aboue all gods.
2:6Who is he then that can be able to buylde him an house, when the heauen, and the heauen of heauens can not conteine him? who am I then that I should buylde him an house? but I do it to burne incense before him.
2:7Sende me nowe therefore a cunning man that can worke in golde, in siluer, and in brasse, and in yron, and in purple, and crimosin and blue silke, and that can graue in grauen worke with the cunning men that are with me in Iudah and in Ierusalem, whom Dauid my father hath prepared.
2:8Sende mee also cedar trees, firre trees and Algummim trees from Lebanon: for I knowe that thy seruants can skill to hewe timber in Lebanon: and beholde, my seruantes shalbe with thine,
2:9That they may prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I doe buylde, is great and wonderfull.
2:10And behold, I will giue to thy seruants the cutters and the hewers of timber twentie thousand measures of beaten wheate, and twentie thousand measures of barley, and twentie thousand baths of wine, and twentie thousand baths of oyle.
2:11Then Huram King of Tyrus answered in writing which he sent to Salomon, Because the Lord hath loued his people, he hath made thee King ouer them.
2:12Huram sayd moreouer, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which made the heauen and the earth, and that hath giuen vnto Dauid the King a wise sonne, that hath discretion, prudence and vnderstanding to buylde an house for the Lord, and a palace for his kingdome.
2:13Now therefore I haue sent a wise man, and of vnderstanding of my father Hurams,
2:14The sonne of a woman of the daughters of Dan: and his father was a man of Tyrus, and he can skill to worke in golde, in siluer, in brasse, in yron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue silke, and in fine linen, and in crimosin, and can graue in all grauen workes, and broyder in all broydered worke that shalbe giuen him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord Dauid thy father.
2:15Now therefore the wheate and the barley, the oyle and the wine, which my lorde hath spoken of, let him send vnto his seruants.
2:16And we wil cut wood in Lebanon as much as thou shalt neede, and will bring it to thee in raftes by the sea to Iapho, so thou mayest cary them to Ierusalem.
2:17And Salomon nombred al the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the nombring that his father Dauid had nombred them: and they were found an hundreth and three and fiftie thousand, and sixe hundreth.
2:18And he set seuentie thousande of them to the burden, and fourescore thousande to hewe stones in the mountaine, and three thousande and sixe hundreth ouerseers to cause the people to worke.

2:2and Salomon tolde out thre skore and ten thousande men to beare burdens, and foure skore thousande men to hewe stones in the mountayne, and thre thousande and syxe hundred to ouer se them.
2:3And Salomon sent to Hiram the kynge of Tire sayinge. As thou dydest deale with Dauid my father and dydest send him Cedar wodde, to buylde him an house to dwelle in, euen so deale with me:
2:4For I am aboute to buylde an house for the name of the Lorde my God, to offre vnto him holy thinges, and to burne swete encense, and to sett shewbreed before him continuallye, to offre burnt sacrifyces of the mornynge and euenynge: on the Saboth dayes, in the fyrst daye of euery newe moone, & in the solempne feastes of the Lorde oure God: for it is an ordinaunce to be continually kepte of Israel.
2:5And the house which I buylde shalbe great: for great is oure God aboue all Gods.
2:6But who is able to buylde him an house: when that heauen, and heauen aboue all heauens is not able to receaue him? what am I then that I shulde buylde hym an house? nay, but euen to burne sacrifice before him, shall this buyldinge be:
2:7sende me nowe therfore a connynge man, that can worcke in golde and syluer, in brasse and yron, in purple, cremosin and yelowe sylke, and that can skylle to graue, with the connynge men that are with me in Iuda and Ierusalem, whom Dauid my father dyd prepare.
2:8Send me also Cedar trees, pyne trees & Algume trees out of Libanon. For I wote that thy seruauntes can skylle to hewe tymbre in Libanon. And beholde, my men shalbe wt thyne,
2:9that they maye prepare me tymbre ynough. For the house which I am determyned to builde, shalbe wonderfull greate.
2:10And beholde, for the vse of thy seruauntes the cutters and hewers of tymbre: I haue geuen .xx. thousande quarters of beaten wheate, and .xx. thousande quarters of barleye, and .xx. thousande bates of wyne, and .xx. thousande bates of oyle.
2:11And Hiram kynge of Tire answered in wrytinge, which he sent to Salomon. Because the Lorde hath loued his people, therfore hath he made the kynge ouer them.
2:12And Hiram sayde moreouer: blessed be the Lorde God of Israel which made heauen and erth, and that hath geuen Dauid the kynge a wyse sonne, and one that hath discrecion, prudence, and vnderstandynge, to buylde an house for the Lorde, & a palace for him selfe.
2:13And nowe I haue sent a wyse man, and a man of vnderstandynge (whom my father Huram dyd vse)
2:14the sonne of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tire, and he can skylle to worke in gold and syluer, in brasse and yron, in stone and tymbre, in purple and yelowe sylke, in fyne whyte and cremosin: and can graue sondrie maner of grauinges, and to fynde out dyuerse maner of sotle worke that shalbe sett before him, with thy connynge men, & with the connynge men of my Lorde Dauid thy father.
2:15Nowe therfore, the wheate, and barleye, oyle and wyne which my Lorde hath spoken of, let him sende vnto his seruauntes.
2:16And we will cut wood in Libano, as moch as thou shalt nede, and will bring it to the, in shippes by see to Iapho, from whence thou mayst carye them to Ierusalem.
2:17And Salomon nombred all the straungers that were in the lande of Israel, after the nombre of them whom his father Dauid had nombred. And they were founde an hundred and .liij. thousande and syxe hundred.
2:18And he set .lxx. thousande of them to beare burthens, and .lxxx. thousande to hewe stones in the mountayne, and thre thousande and syxe hundred officers, to set the people a worke.
