Nehemiah - Chapter: 3


3:1	Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
3:2	And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
3:3	But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
3:4	And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
3:5	And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
3:6	Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
3:7	And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
3:8	Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
3:9	And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
3:10	And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.
3:11	Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.
3:12	And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
3:13	The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
3:14	But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
3:15	But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king's garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.
3:16	After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
3:17	After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
3:18	After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
3:19	And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.
3:20	After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
3:21	After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.
3:22	And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.
3:23	After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.
3:24	After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.
3:25	Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king's high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
3:26	Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.
3:27	After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.
3:28	From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.
3:29	After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.
3:30	After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.
3:31	After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith's son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.
3:32	And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.


3:1	ויקם אלישׁיב הכהן הגדול ואחיו הכהנים ויבנו את שׁער הצאן המה קדשׁוהו ויעמידו דלתתיו ועד מגדל המאה קדשׁוהו עד מגדל חננאל׃
3:2	ועל ידו בנו אנשׁי ירחו ועל ידו בנה זכור בן אמרי׃
3:3	ואת שׁער הדגים בנו בני הסנאה המה קרוהו ויעמידו דלתתיו מנעוליו ובריחיו׃
3:4	ועל ידם החזיק מרמות בן אוריה בן הקוץ ועל ידם החזיק משׁלם בן ברכיה בן משׁיזבאל ועל ידם החזיק צדוק בן בענא׃
3:5	ועל ידם החזיקו התקועים ואדיריהם לא הביאו צורם בעבדת אדניהם׃
3:6	ואת שׁער הישׁנה החזיקו יוידע בן פסח ומשׁלם בן בסודיה המה קרוהו ויעמידו דלתתיו ומנעליו ובריחיו׃
3:7	ועל ידם החזיק מלטיה הגבעני וידון המרנתי אנשׁי גבעון והמצפה לכסא פחת עבר הנהר׃
3:8	על ידו החזיק עזיאל בן חרהיה צורפים ועל ידו החזיק חנניה בן הרקחים ויעזבו ירושׁלם עד החומה הרחבה׃
3:9	ועל ידם החזיק רפיה בן חור שׂר חצי פלך ירושׁלם׃
3:10	ועל ידם החזיק ידיה בן חרומף ונגד ביתו ועל ידו החזיק חטושׁ בן חשׁבניה׃
3:11	מדה שׁנית החזיק מלכיה בן חרם וחשׁוב בן פחת מואב ואת מגדל התנורים׃
3:12	ועל ידו החזיק שׁלום בן הלוחשׁ שׂר חצי פלך ירושׁלם הוא ובנותיו׃
3:13	את שׁער הגיא החזיק חנון וישׁבי זנוח המה בנוהו ויעמידו דלתתיו מנעליו ובריחיו ואלף אמה בחומה עד שׁער השׁפות׃
3:14	ואת שׁער האשׁפות החזיק מלכיה בן רכב שׂר פלך בית הכרם הוא יבננו ויעמיד דלתתיו מנעליו ובריחיו׃
3:15	ואת שׁער העין החזיק שׁלון בן כל חזה שׂר פלך המצפה הוא יבננו ויטללנו ויעמידו דלתתיו מנעליו ובריחיו ואת חומת ברכת השׁלח לגן המלך ועד המעלות היורדות מעיר דויד׃
3:16	אחריו החזיק נחמיה בן עזבוק שׂר חצי פלך בית צור עד נגד קברי דויד ועד הברכה העשׂויה ועד בית הגברים׃
3:17	אחריו החזיקו הלוים רחום בן בני על ידו החזיק חשׁביה שׂר חצי פלך קעילה לפלכו׃
3:18	אחריו החזיקו אחיהם בוי בן חנדד שׂר חצי פלך קעילה׃
3:19	ויחזק על ידו עזר בן ישׁוע שׂר המצפה מדה שׁנית מנגד עלת הנשׁק המקצע׃
3:20	אחריו החרה החזיק ברוך בן זבי מדה שׁנית מן המקצוע עד פתח בית אלישׁיב הכהן הגדול׃
3:21	אחריו החזיק מרמות בן אוריה בן הקוץ מדה שׁנית מפתח בית אלישׁיב ועד תכלית בית אלישׁיב׃
3:22	ואחריו החזיקו הכהנים אנשׁי הככר׃
3:23	אחריו החזיק בנימן וחשׁוב נגד ביתם אחריו החזיק עזריה בן מעשׂיה בן ענניה אצל ביתו׃
3:24	אחריו החזיק בנוי בן חנדד מדה שׁנית מבית עזריה עד המקצוע ועד הפנה׃
3:25	פלל בן אוזי מנגד המקצוע והמגדל היוצא מבית המלך העליון אשׁר לחצר המטרה אחריו פדיה בן פרעשׁ׃
3:26	והנתינים היו ישׁבים בעפל עד נגד שׁער המים למזרח והמגדל היוצא׃
3:27	אחריו החזיקו התקעים מדה שׁנית מנגד המגדל הגדול היוצא ועד חומת העפל׃
3:28	מעל שׁער הסוסים החזיקו הכהנים אישׁ לנגד ביתו׃
3:29	אחריו החזיק צדוק בן אמר נגד ביתו ואחריו החזיק שׁמעיה בן שׁכניה שׁמר שׁער המזרח׃
3:30	אחרי החזיק חנניה בן שׁלמיה וחנון בן צלף השׁשׁי מדה שׁני אחריו החזיק משׁלם בן ברכיה נגד נשׁכתו׃
3:31	אחרי החזיק מלכיה בן הצרפי עד בית הנתינים והרכלים נגד שׁער המפקד ועד עלית הפנה׃
3:32	ובין עלית הפנה לשׁער הצאן החזיקו הצרפים והרכלים׃


3:1	And Eliashib the high priest riseth, and his brethren the priests, and they build the sheep-gate; they have sanctified it, and set up its doors, even unto the tower of Meah they have sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel;
3:2	and by his hand have men of Jericho built; and by their hand hath Zaccur son of Imri built;
3:3	and the fish-gate have sons of Hassenaah built, they have walled it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.
3:4	And by their hand hath Merimoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, strengthened; and by his hand hath Meshullam son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabeel, strengthened; and by his hand hath Zadok son of Baana strengthened;
3:5	and by his hand have the Tekoites strengthened, and their honourable ones have not brought in their neck to the service of their Lord.
3:6	And the old gate have Jehoiada son of Paseah, and Meshullam son of Besodeiah, strengthened; they have walled it, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars.
3:7	And by their hand hath Melatiah the Gibeonite strengthened, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, to the throne of the governor beyond the River.
3:8	By his hand hath Uzziel son of Harhaiah of the refiners strengthened; and by his hand hath Hananiah son of `one of' the compounders strengthened; and they leave Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
3:9	And by their hand hath Rephaiah son of Hur, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, strengthened.
3:10	And by their hand hath Jedaiah son of Harumaph strengthened, and over-against his own house; and by his hand hath Hattush son of Hashabniah strengthened.
3:11	A second measure hath Malchijah son of Harim strengthened, and Hashub son of Pahath-Moab, even the tower of the furnaces.
3:12	And by his hand hath Shallum son of Halohesh, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, strengthened, he and his daughters.
3:13	The gate of the valley hath Hanun strengthened, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they have built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits in the wall unto the dung-gate.
3:14	And the dung-gate hath Malchijah son of Rechab, head of the district of Beth-Haccerem, strengthened; he doth built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.
3:15	And the gate of the fountain hath Shallum son of Col-Hozeh, head of the district of Mizpah, strengthened: he doth build it, and cover it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Siloah, to the garden of the king, and unto the steps that are going down from the city of David.
3:16	After him hath Nehemiah son of Azbuk, head of the half of the district of Beth-Zur, strengthened, unto over-against the graves of David, and unto the pool that is made, and unto the house of the mighty ones.
3:17	After him have the Levites strengthened, `and' Rehum son of Bani: by his hand hath Hashabiah, head of the half of the district of Keilah, strengthened, for his district.
3:18	After him have their brethren strengthened, `and' Bavvai son of Henadad, head of the half of the district of Keilah.
3:19	And Ezer son of Jeshua, head of Mizpah, doth strengthen, by his hand, a second measure, from over-against the ascent of the armoury at the angle.
3:20	After him hath Baruch son of Zabbai hastened to strengthen a second measure from the angle unto the opening of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
3:21	After him hath Meremoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, strengthened, a second measure, from the opening of the house of Eliashib even unto the completion of the house of Eliashib.
3:22	And after him have the priests, men of the circuit, strengthened.
3:23	After them hath Benjamin strengthened, and Hashub, over-against their house; after him hath Azariah son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, strengthened, near his house.
3:24	After him hath Binnui son of Henadad strengthened, a second measure, from the house of Azariah unto the angle, and unto the corner.
3:25	Palal son of Uzai, from over-against the angle, and the tower that is going out from the upper house of the king that `is' at the court of the prison; after him Pedaiah son of Parosh.
3:26	And the Nethinim have been dwelling in Ophel, unto over-against the water-gate at the east, and the tower that goeth out.
3:27	After him have the Tekoites strengthened, a second measure, from over-against the great tower that goeth out, and unto the wall of Ophel.
3:28	From above the horse-gate have the priests strengthened, each over-against his house.
3:29	After them hath Zadok son of Immer strengthened, over against his house; and after him hath Shemaiah son of Shechaniah, keeper of the east gate, strengthened.
3:30	After him hath Hananiah son of Shelemiah strengthened, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, a second measure; after him hath Meshullam son of Berechiah strengthened, over-against his chamber.
3:31	After him hath Malchijah son of the refiner strengthened, unto the house of the Nethinim, and of the merchants, over-against the gate of the Miphkad, and unto the ascent of the corner.
3:32	And between the ascent of the corner and the sheep-gate, have the refiners and the merchants strengthened.
