Nehemiah - Chapter: 3


3:1	Then Eliashib the hie priest, rose vp with his brethren the Priests, and they built the sheepe-gate, they sanctified it, & set vp the doores of it, euen vnto the towre of Meah they sanctified it, vnto the towre of Hananeel.
3:2	And next vnto him builded the men of Iericho: and next to them builded Zaccur the sonne of Imri.
3:3	But the fish-gate did the sonnes of Hassenaah build, who also laide the beames thereof, and set vp the doores thereof, the locks thereof, and the barres thereof.
3:4	And next vnto them repaired Merimoth the son of Uriah, the sonne of Koz: and next vnto them repaired Meshullam the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Meshezabeel: and next vnto them repaired Zadok the sonne of Baana.
3:5	And uext vnto them, the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their neckes to the worke of their Lord.
3:6	Moreouer the olde gate repaired Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Meshullam the sonne of Besodaiah; they laid the beames thereof, and set vp the doores thereof, and the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
3:7	And next vnto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Iadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, vnto the throne of the gouernour on this side the Riuer.
3:8	Next vnto him repaired Uzziel the sonne of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths: next vnto him also repaired Hananiah, the sonne of one of the Apothecaries, and they fortified Ierusalem vnto the broad wall.
3:9	And next vnto them repaired Rephaiah the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem.
3:10	And next vnto them repaired Iedaiah the sonne of Harumaph, euen ouer against his house: and next vnto him repaired Hattush the sonne of Hashabniah.
3:11	Malchiiah the sonne of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahath Moab, repaired the other piece, & the towre of the furnaces.
3:12	And next vnto him repaired Shallum the sonne of Halloesh the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem, hee, and his daughters.
3:13	The valley-gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set vp the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall, vnto the doung-gate.
3:14	But the doung-gate repaired Malchiah the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of part of Beth-haccerem: hee built it, and set vp the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
3:15	But the gate of the fountaine repaired Shallum the sonne of Col-hozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah: hee built it, and couered it, and set vp the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, and the wall of the poole of Siloah by the kings garden, and vnto the staires that goe downe from the citie of Dauid.
3:16	After him repaired Nehemiah the sonne of Azbuk, the ruler of the halfe part of Beth-zur, vnto the place ouer against the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the poole that was made, and vnto the house of the mightie.
3:17	After him repaired the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani: next vnto him repaired Hashabiah the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah in his part.
3:18	After him repaired their brethren, Bauai, the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah.
3:19	And next to him repaired Ezer the sonne of Ieshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece, ouer against the going vp to the armorie, at the turning of the wall.
3:20	After him Baruch the sonne of Zabbai, earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall vnto the doore of the house of Eliashib the high Priest.
3:21	After him repaired Merimoth the sonne of Uriiah, the sonne of Koz, another piece, from the doore of the house of Eliashib, euen to the end of the house of Eliashib.
3:22	And after him repaired the Priests, the men of the plaine.
3:23	After him repaired Beniamin, and Hashub, ouer against their house: after him repaired Azariah the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ananiah, by his house.
3:24	After him repaired Binnui the sonne of Henadad, another piece from the house of Azariah, vnto the turning of the wall, euen vnto the corner.
3:25	Palal the sonne of Uzai, ouer against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lyeth out, from the kings hie house, that was by the court of the prison: after him, Pedaiah the sonne of Parosh.
3:26	Moreouer the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, vnto the place ouer against the water gate, toward the East, and the tower that lieth out.
3:27	After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, ouer against the great tower that lieth out, euen vnto the wall of Ophel.
3:28	From aboue the horsegate repaired the Priests, euery one ouer against his house.
3:29	After them repaired Zadok the sonne of Immer, ouer against his house: after him repaired also Shemaiah, the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the East-gate.
3:30	After him repaired Hananiah the sonne of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth sonne of Zalaph, another piece: after him repaired Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah ouer against his chamber.
3:31	After him repaired Malchiah, the goldsmiths sonne, vnto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, ouer against the gate Miphkad, and to the going vp of the corner.
3:32	And betweene the going vp of the corner vnto the sheepe-gate, repaired the gold-smithes and the merchants.

3:4	And next vnto them fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vrijah, the sonne of Hakkoz: and next vnto them fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Meshezabeel: and next vnto them fortified Zadok, the sonne of Baana:
3:5	And next vnto them fortified the Tekoites: but the great men of them put not their neckes to the worke of their lordes.
3:6	And the gate of the olde fishpoole fortified Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Meshullam the sonne of Besodaiah: they laid the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, and the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
3:7	Next vnto them also fortified Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Iadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, vnto the throne of the Duke, which was beyond the Riuer.
3:8	Next vnto him fortified Vzziel the sonne of Harhohiah of the golde smithes: next vnto him also fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Harakkahim, and they repayred Ierusalem vnto the broad wall.
3:9	Also next vnto them fortified Rephaiah, the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem.
3:10	And next vnto him fortified Iedaiah the sonne of Harumaph, euen ouer against his house: and next vnto him fortified Hattush, the sonne of Hashabniah.
3:11	Malchiiah the sonne of Harim, and Hashub the sonne of Pahath Moab fortified the seconde porcion, and the tower of the fornaces.
3:12	Next vnto him also fortified Shallum, the sonne of Halloesh, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem, he, and his daughters.
3:13	The valley gate fortified Hanum, and the inhabitants of Zanuah: they buylt it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, euen a thousand cubites on the wall vnto the dung porte.
3:14	But the dung port fortified Malchiah, the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of the fourth part of Beth-haccarem: he built it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
3:15	But the gate of the fountaine fortified Shallun, the sonne of Col-hozeh, the ruler of the fourth part of Mizpah: he builded it, and couered it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, and the wall vnto the fishpoole of Shelah by the Kings garden, and vnto the steppes that goe downe from the citie of Dauid.
3:16	After him fortified Nehemiah the sonne of Azbuk, the ruler of ye halfe part of Beth-zur, vntill the otherside ouer against the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the fishpoole that was repaired, and vnto the house of the mightie.
3:17	After him fortified the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani, and next vnto him fortified Hashabiah the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah in his quarter.
3:18	After him fortified their brethren: Bauai, the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah:
3:19	And next vnto him fortified Ezer, the sonne of Ieshua the ruler of Mizpah, the other portion ouer against the going vp to the corner of the armour.
3:20	After him was earnest Baruch the sonne of Zacchai, and fortified another portion from the corner vnto the doore of the house of Eliashib the hie Priest.
3:21	After him fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vriiah, the sonne of Hakkoz, another portion from the doore of the house of Eliashib, euen as long as the house of Eliashib extended.
3:22	After him also fortified the Priests, the men of the playne.
3:23	After them fortified Beniamin, and Hasshub ouer against their house: after him fortified Azariah, the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ananiah, by his house.
3:24	After him fortified Binnui, the sonne of Henadad another portion, from the house of Azariah vnto the turning and vnto the corner.
3:25	Palal, the sonne of Vzai, from ouer against the corner, and the high tower, that lieth out from the Kings house, which is beside the court of the prison. After him, Pedaiah, the sonne of Parosh.
3:26	And the Nethinims they dwelt in ye fortresse vnto the place ouer against the water gate, Eastwarde, and to the tower that lyeth out.
3:27	After him fortified the Tekoites another portion ouer against the great tower, that lyeth out, euen vnto the wall of the fortresse.
3:28	From aboue the horsegate forth fortified the Priests, euery one ouer against his house.
3:29	After them fortified Zadok the sonne of Immer ouer against his house: and after him fortified Shemaiah, the sonne of Shechadiah the keeper of the East gate.
3:30	After him fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sonne of Zalaph, the sixt, another portion after him fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, ouer against his chamber.
3:31	After him fortified Malchiah the goldesmiths sonne, vntil the house of the Nethinims, and of ye marchants ouer against the gate Miphkad, and to the chamber in the corner.
3:32	And betweene the chamber of the corner vnto the sheepegate fortified the goldesmithes and the marchantes.


3:1	And Eliasib the hie preast gat him vp with hys brethren the preastes, & they buylded the Shepegate. They repayred it, & set vp that dores of it: euen vnto the tower Mea repayred they it, and vnto the tower of Hananeel.
3:2	Nexte vnto him also buylded the men of Iericho. And besyde him buylded Sachur the sonne of Amri.
3:3	But the fyshe porte dyd the chyldren of Sanaa buyld, which also layed the beames therof, an set on the dores, lockes and barres of it.
3:4	And nexte vnto him builded Meremoth the sonne of Uria, the sonne of Hakoz: and nexte vnto them buylded Zadoc the sonne of Baana.
3:5	And nexte vnto him buylded they of Thekoa. But the great men that were amonge them, put not theyr neckes to the worcke of their Lorde.
3:6	The Oldegate buylded Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Mesulam the sonne of Besodia, they layde the beames therof, and set on the dores, lockes and barres of it.
3:7	Nexte vnto them, buylded Malatiah of Gibeon, and Iadon of Merano, men of Gibeon, and of Mispa, where he that was captayne of this syde the water had a mansion.
3:8	Nexte vnto him buylded Usiel the sonne of Harhaiah the goldsmyth. Nexte vnto him also builded Hananiah the sonne of Harakahim, and they repayred Ierusalem vnto the brode wall.
3:9	Nexte vnto them buylded Raphaiah the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe parte of Ierusalem.
3:10	Nexte vnto hym buylded Iedata the sonne of Harumaph ouer agaynst his house: and nexte vnto him buylded Hatus the sonne of Hasabnia.
3:11	But Melchia the sonne of Harim and Hasub the sonne of the captayne of Moab buylded the other pece, and the tower besyde the fornaces.
3:12	Nexte vnto him buylded Sallum a syngers sonne, the ruler of the halfe parte of Ierusalem, he and his daughters.
3:13	The valley gate buylded Hanum, & the cytesyns of Zanoa. They buylded it, and set on the dores, lockes and barres therof, and a thousande cubites on the wall, vnto the Donge porte.
3:14	But the Donge porte buylded Melchiah the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of the fourth parte of Bethcharem: he repayred it, and set on the dores, lockes and barres therof.
3:15	But the wellgate repayred Sallum the sonne of Cholhosah, the ruler of the fourth parte of Mispa. He buylded it, and layed the beames, and set on the dores, lockes, and barres therof, and the wall vnto the pole of Siloah by the kynges garden, and vnto the steppes that go downe from the cytie of Dauid.
3:16	After him buylded Nehemiah the sonne of Afbok, the ruler of the halfe parte of Bethzur, vntyll the other syde ouer agaynst the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the pole that was repayred, and vnto the house of the myghtie.
3:17	After him buylded the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani: and nexte vnto him buylded Hasabia the ruler of the halfe parte of Keilah in hys quarter.
3:18	After hym buylded theyr brethren. Bauai the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe parte of Keilah:
3:19	and after hym buylded Ezer the sonne of Iesua the ruler of Mispa the other pece, harde ouer agaynst the goynge vp to the house of ordinaunce that was in the corner.
3:20	Agayne, after hym brake forth Baruch the sonne of Zachai of indignacyon, and repayred the other pece from the turnyng corner vnto the dore of the house of Eliasib the hye prest.
3:21	After hym also buylded Merimoth the sonne of Uria the sonne of Hacos the other pece, from the dore of the house of Eliasib, euen as longe as the house of Eliasib extended.
3:22	After hym buylded the preastes, the men of the playne.
3:23	After hym buylded BenIamin and Hasub ouer agaynst theyr house: and after hym wrought Asaria the sonne of Maasia the sonne of Anania nexte vnto hys house.
3:24	After hym also buylded Benui the sonne of Hanadad the other pece, from the house of Asaria vnto the turnynge of the wall, and vnto the corner.
3:25	After hym buylded Pala the sonne of Usai ouer agaynst the corner and the hye tower, which lyeth out ouer from the kynges house, that was besyde the courte of the preson. After hym Phedaia the sonne of Pharhos
3:26	(as for the Nethinims they dwelt in the strong holde vnto the watergate, towarde the east, and to the tower that lyeth out.)
3:27	After hym buylded they of Thekua the other pece ouer agaynst the greate tower, that lyeth outwarde, vnto the wall of the stronge holde.
3:28	But from aboue the Horsgate forth, buylded the preastes, euery one ouer agaynst his house.
3:29	And after them buylded Zadok the sonne of Immer ouer agaynst his house. After hym buylded also Semeia the sonne of Sechania the keper of the Eastgate.
3:30	After him buylded Hanania the sonne of Selemia, and Hanun the sonne of Zalaph the syxte, the other peace. And after him buylded Mesulam the sonne of Barachia ouer agaynst his store house.
3:31	After him buylded Malachia the goldsmythes sonne, vntyll the house of Nithinims, and of the merchauntes ouer agaynst the gate of Mephkad, and to the parler in the corner.
3:32	And betwene the parlour of the corner vnto the Shepegate buylded the goldsmytes and the merchauntes.
