10:1	And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
10:2	And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
10:3	For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.


10:1	וישׂם המלך אחשׁרשׁ מס על הארץ ואיי הים׃
10:2	וכל מעשׂה תקפו וגבורתו ופרשׁת גדלת מרדכי אשׁר גדלו המלך הלוא הם כתובים על ספר דברי הימים למלכי מדי ופרס׃
10:3	כי מרדכי היהודי משׁנה למלך אחשׁורושׁ וגדול ליהודים ורצוי לרב אחיו דרשׁ טוב לעמו ודבר שׁלום לכל זרעו׃


10:1	And the king Ahasuerus setteth a tribute on the land and the isles of the sea;
10:2	and all the work of his strength, and his might, and the explanation of the greatness of Mordecai with which the king made him great, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of Media and Persia?
10:3	For Mordecai the Jew `is' second to king Ahasuerus, and a great man of the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking good for his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
