Job - Chapter: 10


10:1	My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
10:2	I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.
10:3	Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
10:4	Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?
10:5	Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days,
10:6	That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?
10:7	Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.
10:8	Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.
10:9	Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?
10:10	Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?
10:11	Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.
10:12	Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.
10:13	And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.
10:14	If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.
10:15	If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
10:16	For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.
10:17	Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.
10:18	Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!
10:19	I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.
10:20	Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,
10:21	Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;
10:22	A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.


10:1	נקטה נפשׁי בחיי אעזבה עלי שׂיחי אדברה במר נפשׁי׃
10:2	אמר אל אלוה אל תרשׁיעני הודיעני על מה תריבני׃
10:3	הטוב לך כי תעשׁק כי תמאס יגיע כפיך ועל עצת רשׁעים הופעת׃
10:4	העיני בשׂר לך אם כראות אנושׁ תראה׃
10:5	הכימי אנושׁ ימיך אם שׁנותיך כימי גבר׃
10:6	כי תבקשׁ לעוני ולחטאתי תדרושׁ׃
10:7	על דעתך כי לא ארשׁע ואין מידך מציל׃
10:8	ידיך עצבוני ויעשׂוני יחד סביב ותבלעני׃
10:9	זכר נא כי כחמר עשׂיתני ואל עפר תשׁיבני׃
10:10	הלא כחלב תתיכני וכגבנה תקפיאני׃
10:11	עור ובשׂר תלבישׁני ובעצמות וגידים תסככני׃
10:12	חיים וחסד עשׂית עמדי ופקדתך שׁמרה רוחי׃
10:13	ואלה צפנת בלבבך ידעתי כי זאת עמך׃
10:14	אם חטאתי ושׁמרתני ומעוני לא תנקני׃
10:15	אם רשׁעתי אללי לי וצדקתי לא אשׂא ראשׁי שׂבע קלון וראה עניי׃
10:16	ויגאה כשׁחל תצודני ותשׁב תתפלא׃
10:17	תחדשׁ עדיך נגדי ותרב כעשׂך עמדי חליפות וצבא עמי׃
10:18	ולמה מרחם הצאתני אגוע ועין לא תראני׃
10:19	כאשׁר לא הייתי אהיה מבטן לקבר אובל׃
10:20	הלא מעט ימי יחדל ישׁית ממני ואבליגה מעט׃
10:21	בטרם אלך ולא אשׁוב אל ארץ חשׁך וצלמות׃
10:22	ארץ עיפתה כמו אפל צלמות ולא סדרים ותפע כמו אפל׃


10:1	My soul hath been weary of my life, I leave off my talking to myself, I speak in the bitterness of my soul.
10:2	I say unto God, `Do not condemn me, Let me know why Thou dost strive `with' me.
10:3	Is it good for Thee that Thou dost oppress? That Thou despisest the labour of Thy hands, And on the counsel of the wicked hast shone?
10:4	Eyes of flesh hast Thou? As man seeth -- seest Thou?
10:5	As the days of man `are' Thy days? Thy years as the days of a man?
10:6	That Thou inquirest for mine iniquity, And for my sin seekest?
10:7	For Thou knowest that I am not wicked, And there is no deliverer from Thy hand.
10:8	Thy hands have taken pains about me, And they make me together round about, And Thou swallowest me up!
10:9	Remember, I pray Thee, That as clay Thou hast made me, And unto dust Thou dost bring me back.
10:10	Dost Thou not as milk pour me out? And as cheese curdle me?
10:11	Skin and flesh Thou dost put on me, And with bones and sinews dost fence me.
10:12	Life and kindness Thou hast done with me. And Thy inspection hath preserved my spirit.
10:13	And these Thou hast laid up in Thy heart, I have known that this `is' with Thee.
10:14	If I sinned, then Thou hast observed me, And from mine iniquity dost not acquit me,
10:15	If I have done wickedly -- wo to me, And righteously -- I lift not up my head, Full of shame -- then see my affliction,
10:16	And it riseth -- as a lion Thou huntest me. And Thou turnest back -- Thou shewest Thyself wonderful in me.
10:17	Thou renewest Thy witnesses against me, And dost multiply Thine anger with me, Changes and warfare `are' with me.
10:18	And why from the womb Hast Thou brought me forth? I expire, and the eye doth not see me.
10:19	As I had not been, I am, From the belly to the grave I am brought,
10:20	Are not my days few? Cease then, and put from me, And I brighten up a little,
10:21	Before I go, and return not, Unto a land of darkness and death-shade,
10:22	A land of obscurity as thick darkness, Death-shade -- and no order, And the shining `is' as thick darkness.'
