Job - Chapter: 12


12:1	And Iob answered, and sayd,
12:2	No doubt but ye are the people, and wisedome shall die with you.
12:3	But I haue vnderstanding as well as you, I am not inferiour to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
12:4	I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth vpon God, and he answereth him: the iust vpright man is laughed to scorne.
12:5	He that is ready to slippe with his feet, is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
12:6	The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that prouoke God are secure, into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
12:7	But aske now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the foules of the aire, and they shall tell thee.
12:8	Or speake to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare vnto thee.
12:9	Who knoweth not in all these, that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?
12:10	In whose hand is the soule of euery liuing thing, and the breath of all mankinde.
12:11	Doeth not the eare trie wordes? And the mouth taste his meate?
12:12	With the ancient is wisedome, and in length of dayes, vnderstanding.
12:13	With him is wisedome & strength, he hath counsell and vnderstanding.
12:14	Behold, he breaketh downe, and it cannot be built againe: hee shutteth vp a man, and there can be no opening.
12:15	Behold, hee withholdeth the waters, and they drie vp: also hee sendeth them out, and they ouerturne the earth.
12:16	With him is strength & wisedome: the deceiued, and the deceiuer, are his.
12:17	He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, and maketh the Iudges fooles.
12:18	He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loines with a girdle.
12:19	He leadeth Princes away spoiled, and ouerthroweth the mightie.
12:20	He remooueth away the speech of the trustie, and taketh away the vnderstanding of the aged.
12:21	He powreth contempt vpon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mightie.
12:22	Hee discouereth deepe things out of darkenesse, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
12:23	He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: hee inlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them againe.
12:24	He taketh away the heart of the chiefe of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wildernes where there is no way.
12:25	They grope in the darke without light, and hee maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.


12:1	Then Iob answered, and sayde,
12:2	In deede because that ye are the people onely, wisedome must dye with you.
12:3	But I haue vnderstanding aswel as you, and am not inferior vnto you: yea, who knoweth not such things?
12:4	I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth vpon God, and he heareth him: the iust and the vpright is laughed to scorne.
12:5	Hee that is readie to fall, is as a lampe despised in the opinion of the riche.
12:6	The tabernacles of robbers doe prosper, and they are in safetie, that prouoke God, whome God hath enriched with his hand.
12:7	Aske now the beasts, and they shall teach thee, and the foules of the heauen, and they shall tell thee:
12:8	Or speake to the earth, and it shall shewe thee: or the fishes of the sea, and they shall declare vnto thee.
12:9	Who is ignorant of all these, but that the hande of the Lord hath made these?
12:10	In whose hande is the soule of euery liuing thing, and the breath of all mankinde.
12:11	Doeth not the eares discerne the words? and the mouth taste meate for it selfe?
12:12	Among the ancient is wisedome, and in the length of dayes is vnderstanding.
12:13	With him is wisedome and strength: he hath counsell and vnderstanding.
12:14	Beholde, he will breake downe, and it can not be built: he shutteth a man vp, and he can not be loosed.
12:15	Beholde, he withholdeth the waters, and they drie vp: but when he sendeth them out, they destroy the earth.
12:16	With him is strength and wisedome: hee that is deceiued, and that deceiueth, are his.
12:17	He causeth the counsellers to goe as spoyled, and maketh the iudges fooles.
12:18	He looseth the collar of Kings, and girdeth their loynes with a girdle.
12:19	He leadeth away the princes as a pray, and ouerthroweth the mightie.
12:20	He taketh away the speach from the faithfull counsellers, and taketh away the iudgement of the ancient.
12:21	He powreth contempt vpon princes, and maketh the strength of the mightie weake.
12:22	He discouereth the deepe places from their darkenesse, and bringeth foorth the shadowe of death to light.
12:23	He increaseth the people, and destroyeth them: he inlargeth the nations, and bringeth them in againe.
12:24	He taketh away the heartes of the that are the chiefe ouer the people of the earth, and maketh them to wander in the wildernes out of the way.
12:25	They grope in the darke without light: and he maketh the to stagger like a drunken man.


12:1	So Iob answered, and sayd:
12:2	Then (no doute) ye are the men alone, & wysdome shall perysh with you.
12:3	But I haue vnderstandyng as wel as ye, and am no lesse then ye. Yee, who knoweth not these thynges?
12:4	Thus he that calleth vpon God, and whom God heareth, is mocked of hys neyghboure: the godly and innocent man is laughed to scorne.
12:5	Godlynes is a lyght despysed in the hertes of the ryche, and is set for them to stomble vpon.
12:6	The houses of robers are in wealth & prosperite: and they that malyciously medle agaynst God, dwell without care, in those thynges that God hath geuen rychely with hys hande.
12:7	Aske the catell, and they shall infourme the: the foules of the ayre, and they shall tell the.
12:8	Or the increace of the earth, and it shall shewe the. Or the fysshers of the see, and they shall certifye the.
12:9	What is he, but he knoweth that the hande of the Lorde made all these?
12:10	In whose hande is the soule of euery liuyng thynge, and the breth of the flesh of all men.
12:11	Haue not the eares pleasure in hering, and and the mouth in tastynge the thynge that it eateth?
12:12	Amonge olde personnes there is wisdome, and in age is vnderstandyng.
12:13	Yee, with God is wysdome and strength, it is he that hath councell and forknowledge.
12:14	Beholde, If he breake downe a thyng, who can set it vp agayne? If he shut a thynge, who will open it?
12:15	Behold, yf he witholde the waters, they drye vp. If he let them go, they destroye the erth.
12:16	With him is strength & wysdome: he knoweth both the disceauer & hym that is disceaued.
12:17	He carieth awaye the wyse men, as it were a spoyle, and bryngeth the iudges oute of theyr wittes.
12:18	He taketh awaye the subieccion of the people from their kinges, and gyrdeth theyr loynes with a bonde.
12:19	He ledeth awaye the greate men into captiuyte, and turneth the mightye vpsyde downe.
12:20	He taketh the veryte from out of the mouth, and disapointeth the aged of theyr reason.
12:21	He poureth the confusion vpon prynces, and comforteth them that haue bene oppressed.
12:22	Loke what lyeth hyd in darcknes, he declareth it openly: and the very shadowe of death bryngeth he to lyght.
12:23	He both increaseth the people, and destroyeth them. He maketh them to multyplye, and dryueth them awaye.
12:24	He chaungeth the herte of them that rule the people of the earthe, and disapoynteth them: so that they go wandrynge out of the waye,
12:25	and grope in the darcke without lyght: he maketh them also to stacker to and fro lyke droncken men.
