Job - Chapter: 22


22:1	Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and said,
22:2	Can a man be profitable vnto God? as hee that is wise may be profitable vnto himselfe.
22:3	Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gaine to him, that thou makest thy waies perfite?
22:4	Will hee reproue thee for feare of thee? will he enter with thee into iudgment?
22:5	Is not thy wickednesse great? and thine iniquities infinite?
22:6	For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
22:7	Thou hast not giuen water to the wearie to drinke, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
22:8	But as for the mightie man, hee had the earth, and the honourable man dwelt in it.
22:9	Thou hast sent widowes away emptie, and the armes of the fatherlesse haue bene broken.
22:10	Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden feare troubleth thee,
22:11	Or darkenes that thou canst not see, and abundance of waters couer thee.
22:12	Is not God in the height of heauen? and behold the height of the starres how high they are.
22:13	And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he iudge through the darke cloude?
22:14	Thicke cloudes are a couering to him that he seeth not, and hee walketh in the circuit of heauen.
22:15	Hast thou marked the olde way which wicked men haue troden?
22:16	Which were cut downe out of time, whose foundation was ouerflowen with a flood.
22:17	Which said vnto God, Depart from vs, and what can the Almightie doe for them?
22:18	Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsell of the wicked is farre from me.
22:19	The righteous see it, and are glad, and the innocent laugh them to scorne.
22:20	Whereas our substance is not cut downe, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
22:21	Acquaint now thy selfe with him, and be at peace: thereby good shal come vnto thee.
22:22	Receiue, I pray thee, the Lawe from his mouth, and lay vp his words in thine heart.
22:23	If thou returne to the Almightie, thou shalt be built vp, thou shalt put away iniquitie farre from thy tabernacles.
22:24	Then shalt thou lay vp golde as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brookes.
22:25	Yea the Almightie shall bee thy defence, and thou shalt haue plenty of siluer.
22:26	For then shalt thou haue thy delight in the Almightie, and shalt lift vp thy face vnto God.
22:27	Thou shalt make thy prayer vnto him, and he shall heare thee, and thou shalt pay thy vowes.
22:28	Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shal be established vnto thee: and the light shall shine vpon thy wayes.
22:29	When men are cast downe, then thou shalt say, There is lifting vp: and he shall saue the humble person.
22:30	He shall deliuer the Iland of the innocent: and it is deliuered by the purenesse of thine hands.


22:1	Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and sayde,
22:2	May a man be profitable vnto God, as he that is wise, may be profitable to himselfe?
22:3	Is it any thing vnto the Almightie, that thou art righteous? or is it profitable to him, that thou makest thy wayes vpright?
22:4	Is it for feare of thee that he will accuse thee? or go with thee into iudgement?
22:5	Is not thy wickednes great, and thine iniquities innumerable?
22:6	For thou hast taken the pledge from thy brother for nought, and spoyled the clothes of the naked.
22:7	To such as were wearie, thou hast not giuen water to drinke, and hast withdrawen bread from the hungrie.
22:8	But the mightie man had the earth, and he that was in autoritie, dwelt in it.
22:9	Thou hast cast out widowes emptie, and the armes of the fatherles were broken.
22:10	Therefore snares are round about thee, and feare shall suddenly trouble thee:
22:11	Or darkenes that thou shouldest not see, and abundance of waters shall couer thee.
22:12	Is not God on hie in the heauen? and behold the height of the starres how hie they are.
22:13	But thou sayest, How should God know? can he iudge through the darke cloude?
22:14	The cloudes hide him that he can not see, and he walketh in the circle of heauen.
22:15	Hast thou marked the way of the worlde, wherein wicked men haue walked?
22:16	Which were cut downe before the time, whose foundation was as a riuer that ouerflowed:
22:17	Which sayd vnto God, Depart from vs, and asked what the Almightie could do for them.
22:18	Yet hee filled their houses with good things: but let the counsell of the wicked be farre from me.
22:19	The righteous shall see them, and shall reioyce, and the innocent shall laugh them to scorne.
22:20	Surely our substance is hid: but the fire hath deuoured the remnant of them.
22:21	Therefore acquaint thy selfe, I pray thee, with him, and make peace: thereby thou shalt haue prosperitie.
22:22	Receiue, I pray thee, the law of his mouth, and lay vp his words in thine heart.
22:23	If thou returne to the Almightie, thou shalt be buylt vp, and thou shalt put iniquitie farre from thy tabernacle.
22:24	Thou shalt lay vp golde for dust, and the gold of Ophir, as the flintes of the riuers.
22:25	Yea, the Almightie shalbe thy defence, and thou shalt haue plentie of siluer.
22:26	And thou shalt then delite in the Almightie, and lift vp thy face vnto God.
22:27	Thou shalt make thy praier vnto him, and he shall heare thee, and thou shalt render thy vowes.
22:28	Thou shalt also decree a thing, and he shall establish it vnto thee, and the light shall shine vpon thy wayes.
22:29	When others are cast downe, then shalt thou say, I am lifted vp: and God shall saue the humble person.
22:30	The innocent shall deliuer the yland, and it shalbe preserued by the purenes of thine hands.


22:1	So Eliphas the Themanite gaue answere, and sayde:
22:2	Maye a man be profitable vnto God, as he that is wyse maye be profytable to hym selfe?
22:3	Is it any vauntage to the Allmyghtye that thou art ryghteous? Or shall it profyte hym, that thou makest thy wayes perfect?
22:4	Is he afrayed to reproue the, and to steppe forth with the into iudgment?
22:5	Is not thy wickednesse greate, and thyne vngracious dedes innumerable?
22:6	For thou hast taken the pledge from thy brother for naught, and robbed the naked of their clothinge:
22:7	To soche as were weery hast thou geuen no water to drincke, & hast withdrawen bred from the hungrye:
22:8	Shulde soch one then as vseth violence, wrong & oppression (doing all thinge of parcialite, and hauinge respecte of personnes) dwell in the lande?
22:9	Thou hast sent wyddowes awaye emptie and oppressed the poore fatherlesse.
22:10	Therfore art thou compassed aboute with snares on euery syde, and sodenly vexed with feare.
22:11	Shuldest thou then se no darckenesse? Shulde not the water floude runne ouer the?
22:12	Now because that God is hyer then the heauens, and because thou seyst that the starres are so hye,
22:13	wilt thou therfore saye: Tushe, how shulde God knowe? Doth his dominyon reache beyonde the cloudes?
22:14	Tush, the cloudes couer him that he maye not se, & he dwelleth aboue heauen.
22:15	Dost not thou kepe the olde waye, that vayne men haue gone?
22:16	Which were cut downe out of tyme, and whose foundacyon was as a runnynge water,
22:17	which sayed vnto God: go from vs, and what dyd the Allmyghtye with them?
22:18	He fylled theyr houses with good thinges. But the councell of the vngodly is farre fro me.
22:19	The ryghteous sawe it and were glad, and the innocent laughed them to scorne.
22:20	Is oure increase hewen downe? As for the remnaunt of them, the fyre hath consumed it.
22:21	Therfore reconcile the vnto God, and be content, so shall all thinges prospere with the ryght well.
22:22	Receaue the lawe at his mouth, and laye vp his wordes in thyne herte.
22:23	For yf thou wilt turne to the Almightye, thou shall stande fast, and put all vnrighteousnesse from thy dwellynge:
22:24	Thou shall make golde as plentifull as the dust, and the golde of Ophir as the flyntes of the ryuers.
22:25	Yee, Almightye God hys awne selfe shalbe thy defence, and thou shalt haue plentye of syluer.
22:26	Then shalt thou haue thy delite in the Almightie, & lyft vp thy face vnto God.
22:27	Then shalt thou make thy prayer vnto him, and he shall heare the, and thou shalt kepe thy promyses.
22:28	Then, loke what thou takest in hand, he shall make it to prospere with the, and the lyght shall shyne in the wayes.
22:29	For who so humbleth hym selfe, him shall be set vp: and who so loketh mekely, shalbe healed.
22:30	If thou be innocent thou shalt deliuer the countre because of the vngyltynesse of thyne handes.
