| 34:1 | Furthermore Elihu answered, and said, |
| 34:2 | Heare my wordes, O yee wise men, and giue eare vnto me, ye that haue knowledge. |
| 34:3 | For the eare trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meate. |
| 34:4 | Let vs chuse to vs iudgement: let vs know among our selues what is good. |
| 34:5 | For Iob hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my iudgement. |
| 34:6 | Should I lye against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression. |
| 34:7 | What man is like Iob, who drinketh vp scorning like water? |
| 34:8 | Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men. |
| 34:9 | For hee hath said, It profiteth a man nothing, that he should delight himselfe with God. |
| 34:10 | Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of vnderstanding: farre bee it from God, that he should doe wickednes, and from the Almighty, that hee should commit iniquitie. |
| 34:11 | For the worke of a man shall he render vnto him, and cause euery man to finde according to his wayes. |
| 34:12 | Yea surely God will not doe wickedly, neither will the Almighty peruert iudgement. |
| 34:13 | Who hath giuen him a charge ouer the earth? Or who hath disposed the whole world? |
| 34:14 | If he set his heart vpon man, if he gather vnto himselfe his spirit and his breath; |
| 34:15 | All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turne againe vnto dust. |
| 34:16 | If now thou hast vnderstanding, heare this: hearken to the voyce of my words. |
| 34:17 | Shall euen he that hateth right, gouerne? and wilt thou condemne him that is most iust? |
| 34:18 | Is it fit to say to a King, Thou art wicked? and to Princes, Ye are vngodly? |
| 34:19 | How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of Princes, nor regardeth the rich more then the poore? for they all are the woorke of his hands. |
| 34:20 | In a moment shall they die, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and passe away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand. |
| 34:21 | For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings. |
| 34:22 | There is no darkenes, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquitie may hide themselues. |
| 34:23 | For hee will not lay vpon man more then right; that he should enter into iudgement with God. |
| 34:24 | He shall breake in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead. |
| 34:25 | Therefore hee knoweth their workes, and he ouerturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed. |
| 34:26 | He striketh them as wicked men, in the open sight of others: |
| 34:27 | Because they turned backe from him, and would not consider any of his wayes. |
| 34:28 | So that they cause the cry of the poore to come vnto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted. |
| 34:29 | When he giueth quietnesse, who then can make trouble? and when hee hideth his face, who then can beholde him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man onely: |
| 34:30 | That the hypocrite raigne not, lest the people be ensnared. |
| 34:31 | Surely it is meete to be said vnto God, I haue borne chastisement, I will not offend any more. |
| 34:32 | That which I see not, teach thou me; If I haue done iniquitie, I will doe no more. |
| 34:33 | Should it bee according to thy minde? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou chuse, and not I: therefore speake what thou knowest. |
| 34:34 | Let men of vnderstanding tell mee, and let a wise man hearken vnto mee. |
| 34:35 | Iob hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdome. |
| 34:36 | My desire is that Iob may bee tried vnto the ende, because of his answeres for wicked men. |
| 34:37 | For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne, hee clappeth his handes amongst vs, and multiplieth his words against God. |
| 34:1 | Moreouer Elihu answered, and saide, |
| 34:2 | Heare my wordes, ye wise men, and hearken vnto me, ye that haue knowledge. |
| 34:3 | For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate. |
| 34:4 | Let vs seeke iudgement among vs, and let vs knowe among our selues what is good. |
| 34:5 | For Iob hath saide, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my iudgement. |
| 34:6 | Should I lye in my right? my wound of the arrowe is grieuous without my sinne. |
| 34:7 | What man is like Iob, that drinketh scornfulnesse like water? |
| 34:8 | Which goeth in the companie of them that worke iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men? |
| 34:9 | For he hath saide, It profiteth a man nothing that he should walke with God. |
| 34:10 | Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of wisedome, God forbid that wickednesse should be in God, and iniquitie in the Almightie. |
| 34:11 | For he will render vnto man according to his worke, and cause euery one to finde according to his way. |
| 34:12 | And certainely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almightie peruert iudgement. |
| 34:13 | Whome hath he appointed ouer the earth beside him selfe? or who hath placed the whole worlde? |
| 34:14 | If he set his heart vpon man, and gather vnto him selfe his spirit and his breath, |
| 34:15 | All flesh shall perish together, and man shall returne vnto dust. |
| 34:16 | And if thou hast vnderstanding, heare this and hearken to the voyce of my wordes. |
| 34:17 | Shal he that hateth iudgement, gouerne? and wilt thou iudge him wicked that is most iust? |
| 34:18 | Wilt thou say vnto a King, Thou art wicked? or to princes, Ye are vngodly? |
| 34:19 | How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, and regardeth not the rich, more then the poore? for they be all the worke of his handes. |
| 34:20 | They shall die suddenly, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and they shall passe foorth and take away the mightie without hand. |
| 34:21 | For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings. |
| 34:22 | There is no darkenesse nor shadowe of death, that the workers of iniquitie might be hid therein. |
| 34:23 | For he will not lay on man so much, that he should enter into iudgement with God. |
| 34:24 | He shall breake the mightie without seeking, and shall set vp other in their stead. |
| 34:25 | Therefore shall he declare their works: he shall turne the night, and they shalbe destroyed. |
| 34:26 | He striketh them as wicked men in the places of the seers, |
| 34:27 | Because they haue turned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes: |
| 34:28 | So that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto him, and he hath heard the cry of the afflicted. |
| 34:29 | And when he giueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who can beholde him, whether it be vpon nations, or vpon a man onely? |
| 34:30 | Because the hypocrite doeth reigne, and because the people are snared. |
| 34:31 | Surely it appertaineth vnto God to say, I haue pardoned, I will not destroy. |
| 34:32 | But if I see not, teach thou me: if I haue done wickedly, I will doe no more. |
| 34:33 | Wil he performe the thing through thee? for thou hast reproued it, because that thou hast chosen, and not I. now speake what thou knowest. |
| 34:34 | Let men of vnderstanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken vnto me. |
| 34:35 | Iob hath not spoken of knowledge, neyther were his wordes according to wisedome. |
| 34:36 | I desire that Iob may be tryed, vnto the ende touching the answeres for wicked men. |
| 34:37 | For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne: he clappeth his handes among vs, and multiplieth his wordes against God. |
| 34:1 | Elihu proceadynge forth in hys answere, sayd: |
| 34:2 | Heare my wordes (O ye wyse men) herken vnto me, ye that haue vnderstandynge. |
| 34:3 | For the eare proueth and discerneth the wordes, and the mouth tasteth the meates: |
| 34:4 | As for iudgement, let vs seke it out amonge oure selues, that we may knowe what is good. |
| 34:5 | And why? Iob hath sayde: I am ryghteous, but God doth me wronge. |
| 34:6 | I must neades be a lyer, though my cause me ryght, and violently I am plaged where as I made no faut: |
| 34:7 | where is there soch a one as Iob, that drincketh vp scornefulnes lyke water? |
| 34:8 | whych goeth in the company of wycked doers, and walketh wyth vngodly men? |
| 34:9 | For he hath sayed: Though a man be good, yet is he naught before God. |
| 34:10 | Therfore herken vnto me, ye that haue vnderstandynge. Farre be it from God, that he shuld medle wyth wickednesse: and farre be it from the Almyghtye, that he shulde medle wyth vnryghteous dealynge: |
| 34:11 | For he shall reward the worckes of man, and cause euery man to fynde accordynge to his wayes. |
| 34:12 | For sure it is, that God condemneth no man wrongefully, and the iudgement of the Almyghtye is not vnryghteous. |
| 34:13 | Who ruleth the earth in his steade? Or, whom hath he sett to gouerne the whole worlde? |
| 34:14 | To whom hath he geuen hys herte, for to drawe hys sprete and breth vnto hym? |
| 34:15 | All flesh shall come together vnto naught, and all men shall turne agayne vnto dust. |
| 34:16 | If thou now haue vnderstandyng, heare what I saye, and herken to the voyce of my wordes? |
| 34:17 | Maye he be a ruler, that loueth no ryght? Or maye he that is a very innocent man, do vngodly? |
| 34:18 | Is it reason, that thou shuldest saye to the kynge: Thou art wicked, or, thou art vngodly, and that before the prynces? |
| 34:19 | He hath no respecte vnto the personnes, of the lordly, and regardeth not the rych more then the poore. For they be all the worcke of hys handes. |
| 34:20 | In the twyncklinge of an eye shall they dye: and at mydnight, when the people and the tyrauntes rage, then shall they perish, and be taken awaye without handes. |
| 34:21 | And why? his eyes loke vpon the wayes of man, and he seyth all hys goynges. |
| 34:22 | There is no darcknes nor shadowe of death, that can hyde the wycked doers from hym. |
| 34:23 | For no man shalbe suffred to go into iudgement wt God. |
| 34:24 | Many one: yee innumerable doth he punyshe, & setteth other in their steades. |
| 34:25 | Therfore shall he declare their worckes, he shall turne the nyght, and they shall be destroyed. |
| 34:26 | They that were in the steade of Sears, dealt lyke vngodly men: |
| 34:27 | and therfore he punyshed them, because they turned back from hym, and wolde not consyder all hys wayes. |
| 34:28 | In so moch that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto hym, and now he heareth the complaynte of soche as are in trouble. |
| 34:29 | If he graunte pardon, who wyll condemne? And yf he hyde awaye hys countenaunce, who shalbe able to se it? whether it be to the people or to any man, thus wyll he do. |
| 34:30 | For the vngodlynesse of the people, doth God make an ypocrite to reygne, ouer them. |
| 34:31 | For so moch then as I haue begonne to talke of God, I will not hyndre the. |
| 34:32 | If I haue gone a mysse, enfourme thou me: yf I haue done wronge, I will leaue of. |
| 34:33 | Can he do nothinge without the? For thou hast reproued hys iudgement. Thou also hast thyne awne mynde and not I. |
| 34:34 | But speake on what thou knowest. Let men of vnderstonding tell me, and let a wyse man herken vnto me. |
| 34:35 | As for Iob, he hath nether spoken to the purpose nor wisely. |
| 34:36 | O father, let Iob be well tryed, because he hath answered for wycked men: |
| 34:37 | yee, aboue his synne he doth wyckedly: triumpheth amonge vs, and multiplieth hys wordes agaynst God. |
