Job - Chapter: 36

>
36:1Elihu also proceeded, and said,
36:2Suffer mee a little, and I will shewe thee, that I haue yet to speake on Gods behalfe.
36:3I will fetch my knowledge from afarre, and will ascribe righteousnesse to my Maker.
36:4For truely my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge, is with thee.
36:5Behold, God is mightie, and despiseth not any: he is mightie in strength and wisedome.
36:6He preserueth not the life of the wicked: but giueth right to the poore.
36:7Hee withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne, yea he doth establish them for euer, and they are exalted.
36:8And if they bee bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction:
36:9Then hee sheweth them their worke, and their transgressions, that they haue exceeded.
36:10He openeth also their eare to discipline, and commandeth that they returne from iniquitie.
36:11If they obey and serue him, they shall spend their dayes in prosperitie, and their yeeres in pleasures.
36:12But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
36:13But the hypocrites in heart heape vp wrath: they crie not when he bindeth them.
36:14They die in youth, and their life is among the vncleane.
36:15He deliuereth the poore in his affliction, and openeth their eares in oppression.
36:16Euen so would he haue remooued thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitnesse, and that which should be set on thy table, should be full of fatnesse.
36:17But thou hast fulfilled the iudgement of the wicked: iudgement and iustice take hold on thee.
36:18Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransome cannot deliuer thee.
36:19Will he esteeme thy riches? no not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
36:20Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
36:21Take heed, regard not iniquitie: for this hast thou chosen rather then affliction.
36:22Beholde, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
36:23Who hath inioyned him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquitie?
36:24Remember that thou magnifie his worke, which men behold.
36:25Euery man may see it, man may behold it afarre off.
36:26Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his yeeres be searched out.
36:27For hee maketh small the drops of water: they powre downe raine according to the vapour thereof:
36:28Which the clouds doe drop, and distill vpon man aboundantly.
36:29Also can any vnderstand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
36:30Behold, he spreadeth his light vpon it, and couereth the bottome of the sea.
36:31For by them iudgeth he the people, he giueth meate in abundance.
36:32With clouds he couereth the light, and commaundeth it not to shine, by the cloud that commeth betwixt.
36:33The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattel also concerning the Uapour.

36:1Elihu also proceeded and sayde,
36:2Suffer me a litle, and I will instruct thee: for I haue yet to speake on Gods behalfe.
36:3I will fetche my knowledge afarre off, and will attribute righteousnes vnto my Maker.
36:4For truely my wordes shall not be false, and he that is perfect in knowledge, speaketh with thee.
36:5Behold, the mighty God casteth away none that is mighty and valiant of courage.
36:6He mainteineth not the wicked, but he giueth iudgement to the afflicted.
36:7He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but they are with Kings in ye throne, where he placeth them for euer: thus they are exalted.
36:8And if they bee bound in fetters and tyed with the cordes of affliction,
36:9Then will he shewe them their worke and their sinnes, because they haue bene proude.
36:10He openeth also their eare to discipline, and commandeth them that they returne from iniquity.
36:11If they obey and serue him, they shall end their dayes in prosperity, and their yeres in pleasures.
36:12But if they wil not obey, they shall passe by the sworde, and perish without knowledge.
36:13But the hypocrites of heart increase the wrath: for they call not when he bindeth them.
36:14Their soule dyeth in youth, and their life among the whoremongers.
36:15He deliuereth the poore in his affliction, and openeth their eare in trouble.
36:16Euen so woulde he haue taken thee out of the streight place into a broade place and not shut vp beneath: and that which resteth vpon thy table, had bene full of fat.
36:17But thou art ful of the iudgement of the wicked, though iudgement and equitie maintaine all things.
36:18For Gods wrath is, least hee should take that away in thine abundance: for no multitude of giftes can deliuer thee.
36:19Wil he regard thy riches? he regardeth not golde, nor all them that excel in strength.
36:20Be not carefull in the night, howe he destroyeth the people out of their place.
36:21Take thou heede: looke not to iniquitie: for thou hast chosen it rather then affliction.
36:22Beholde, God exalteth by his power: what teacher is like him?
36:23Who hath appointed to him his way? or who can say, Thou hast done wickedly?
36:24Remember that thou magnifie his worke, which men behold.
36:25All men see it, and men beholde it afarre off.
36:26Beholde, God is excellent, and we knowe him not, neither can the nomber of his yeres bee searched out.
36:27When he restraineth the droppes of water, the rayne powreth down by the vapour thereof,
36:28Which raine the cloudes do droppe and let fall abundantly vpon man.
36:29Who can know the diuisions of ye clouds and the thunders of his tabernacle?
36:30Beholde, he spreadeth his light vpon it, and couereth the bottome of the sea.
36:31For thereby hee iudgeth the people, and giueth meate abundantly.
36:32He couereth the light with the clouds, and commandeth them to go against it.
36:33His companion sheweth him thereof, and there is anger in rising vp.

36:1Elihu proceaded forth in hys talkyng, and sayd:
36:2Holde the styll a lytle, & I shall shewe the, what I haue yet to speake on Goddes behalfe.
36:3I wyll open vnto the yet more of myne vnderstandynge, & proue my mater ryghteous.
36:4And truly, my wordes shall not be vayne, seynge he is with the that is perfect in knowlege:
36:5behold, the greate God casteth awaye no man, for he him selfe is myghty in power and wysdome.
36:6As for the vngodly, he shall not preserue hym, but shall helpe the poore to their ryght.
36:7He shall turne hys eyes awaye from the ryghteous, but as kynges shall they be in theyr trone, he shall stablysh them for euer, & they shalbe exalted.
36:8But yf they be layed in preson and cheynes, or bounde with the bondes of trouble,
36:9then wyll he shewe them theyr worcke, and the synnes wher with they haue vsed cruell vyolence.
36:10He wyth punysshynge and nurtringe of them, roundeth them in the eares, warneth them to leaue of from theyr wyckednesse, & to amende.
36:11If they now wyll take hede and serue him, they shall were out theyr dayes in prosperite, and theyr yeares in pleasure and ioye.
36:12But yf they wyll not herken, they shall go thorow the swearde, and perysh or euer they be aware.
36:13As for soch as be fayned ypocrites, they shall heape vp wrath for them selues: for they call not vpon hym, though they be hys presoners.
36:14Thus shall theyr soule perysshe in folyshnesse, & theyr lyfe shalbe condemned among the fornicatours.
36:15The poore shall he delyuer out of his affliction, & rounde them in the eare whan they be in trouble.
36:16Euen so shall he kepe the (yf thou wylt be content) from the bottomlesse pytte that is beneth: & yf thou wylt holde the quyete, he shall fyll thy table wyth plenteousnesse.
36:17Neuerthelesse, thou hast condemned the iudgement of the vngodly, yee, euen soche a iudgement and sentence shalt thou suffre.
36:18For then shall not thy cause be stylled wyth crueltye, nor pacyfyed wyth many gyftes.
36:19Thynkest thou, that he wyll regarde thy riches? he shall not care for golde, ner for all them that excell in strength.
36:20Prolonge not thou the tyme, tyll ther come a nyght for the, to set other people in thy steade.
36:21But bewarre that thou turne not asyde to wyckednesse and synne, which hither to thou hast chosen more then mekenesse.
36:22Behold, God is of a mighttye hye power: Where is there soche a gyde & lawe geuer as he?
36:23Who wyll reproue hym of hys waye? who wyll saye vnto him: thou hast done wrong?
36:24O consydre how greate and excellent hys worckes be, whom all men loue and prayse:
36:25yee, wondre at hym, and yet they se hym but afarre of.
36:26Beholde, so greate is God, that he passeth oure knowledge, nether are we able to come to the experience of hys yeares.
36:27He turneth the water to small droppes, he dryueth hys cloudes together for to rayne,
36:28so that they poure downe and droppe vpon men.
36:29He can sprede out the cloudes (a couerynge of hys tabernacle)
36:30and cause hys lyght to shyne vpon them, and to couer the botome of the see.
36:31By these thinges gouerneth he hys people, and geueth them aboundaunce of meate.
36:32Wyth the cloudes he hydeth the lyght, and at hys commaundement it commeth agayne.
36:33The rysyng vp therof sheweth he to hys frendes & to the catell.
