Psalms - Chapter: 3

3:1A psalme of Dauid when he fledd from the face of Absalon hys sonne. Lord, howe are they increased, that trouble me? many are they, that ryse against me.
3:2Many one there be, that saye of my soule: there is no helpe for hym in God. Sela.
3:3But thou O Lorde, arte my defender: thou arte my worshyppe, and the lyfter vp of my heed.
3:4I did call vpon the Lorde with my voyce, and he hearde me out of hys holy hyll. Sela.
3:5I layed me downe and slepte, and rose vp agayne, for the Lorde susteyned me.
3:6I will not be afrayde for ten thousandes of the people, that haue set them selues agaynst me rounde about.
3:7Up Lorde, & helpe me, O my God, for thou smyttest all myne enemyes vpon the cheke bone: thou hast broken the teeth of the vngodly.
3:8Saluacyon belongeth vnto the Lorde, and thy blessynge is vpon thy people. Selah.

 

3:1The title of the thridde salm. `The salm of Dauid, whanne he fledde fro the face of Absolon, his sone.
3:2Lord, whi ben thei multiplied that disturblen me?
3:3many men rysen ayens me. Many men seien of my soule, Noon helthe is to hym in his God.
3:4But thou, Lord, art myn vptakere; my glorye, and enhaunsyng myn heed.
3:5With my vois Y criede to the Lord; and he herde me fro his hooli hil.
3:6I slepte, and `was quenchid, and Y roos vp; for the Lord resseyuede me.
3:7I schal not drede thousyndis of puple cumpassynge me; Lord, rise thou vp; my God, make thou me saaf.
3:8For thou hast smyte alle men beynge aduersaries to me with out cause; thou hast al to-broke the teeth of synneris.

 

3:1Why are they so many (o LORDE) yt trouble me? a greate multitude are they, that ryse agaynst me.
3:2Yee many one there be that saye off my soule: there is no helpe for him in God.
3:3Sela But thou (o LORDE) art my defender, my worshipe, ad the lifter vp of my heade.
3:4I call vpon the LORDE with my voyce, and he heareth me out of his holy hill.
3:5Sela I layed me downe and slepte, but I rose vp agayne, for the LORDE susteyned me.
3:6I am not afrayed for thousandes of the people, that copasse me rounde aboute.
3:7Vp LORDE, and helpe me, o my God: for thou smytest all myne enemies vpon the cheke bones, and breakest the teth of the vngodly.
3:8Helpe belongeth vnto the LORDE, therfore let thy blessynge be vpon thy people.
