Psalms - Chapter: 38

>
38:1[A Psalme of Dauid, to bring to remembrance.] O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
38:2For thine arrowes sticke fast in me; and thy hand presseth me sore.
38:3There is no soundnesse in my flesh, because of thine anger: neither is there any rest in my bones, because of my sinne.
38:4For mine iniquities are gone ouer mine head: as an heauy burden, they are too heauie for me.
38:5My wounds stinke, and are corrupt: because of my foolishnesse.
38:6I am troubled, I am bowed downe greatly; I goe mourning all the day long.
38:7For my loynes are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundnesse in my flesh.
38:8I am feeble and sore broken; I haue roared by reason of the disquietnesse of my heart.
38:9Lord, all my desire is before thee: and my groning is not hid from thee.
38:10My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eies, it also is gone from me.
38:11My louers and my friends stand a loofe from my sore: and my kinsmen stand a farre off.
38:12They also that seeke after my life, lay snares for me: and they that seeke my hurt, speake mischieuous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
38:13But I, as a deafe man, heard not; and I was as a dumbe man that openeth not his mouth.
38:14Thus I was as a man that heareth not; and in whose mouth are no reproofes.
38:15For in thee, O Lord, doe I hope: thou wilt heare, O Lord my God.
38:16For I said, heare me, least otherwise they should reioyce ouer me: when my foot slippeth, they magnifie themselues against me.
38:17For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
38:18For I will declare mine iniquitie; I will be sory for my sinne.
38:19But mine enemies are liuely, and they are strong: and they that hate mee wrongfully, are multiplied.
38:20They also that render euill for good, are mine aduersaries: because I follow the thing that good is.
38:21Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not farre from me.
38:22Make haste to helpe mee, O Lord my saluation.

38:1Rebuke me not O God in thyne anger: neither chasten me in thy heauie displeasure
38:2For thyne arrowes sticke fast in me: and thy hande presseth me sore
38:3There is no helath in my flesh through thy displeasure: neither is there any rest in my bones by reason of my sinne
38:4For my manyfolde wickednes is gone ouer my head: and like a sore burthen is to heauie for me to beare
38:5My woundes stinke and are corrupt: through my foolishnes
38:6I am become crooked, and am exceedingly pulled downe: I go a mourning all the day long
38:7For my loynes are filled with heate: and there is no whole part in my body
38:8I am feeble and sore smitten: I haue rored for the very disquietnesse of my heart
38:9Lorde thou knowest all my desire: and my gronyng is not hyd from thee
38:10My heart panteth, my strength hath fayled me: and the lyght of myne eyes is gone from me
38:11My louers and my neygbours dyd stande on the other syde lokyng vpon my plague: and my kinsmen stoode a farre of
38:12They also that sought after my lyfe layde snares for me: and they that went about to do me euyll, talked of wickednesse, and imagined deceipt all the day long
38:13As for me, as one deafe I woulde not heare: and I was as one that is dumbe who coulde not open his mouth
38:14I became euen as a man that heareth not: and who hath no replies in his mouth
38:15For on thee O God I haue wayted: thou shalt aunswere for me O Lorde my God
38:16For I sayde heare me lest that they shoulde triumph on me: who auaunce them selues greatly agaynst me when my foote doth slyp
38:17Because I am disposed to a haltyng: and my sorowe is euer in my syght
38:18Because I confesse my wickednesse: and am sory for my sinne
38:19But myne enemies lyuyng without payne are mightie: & they that hate me wrongfully are increased in number
38:20They also that rewarde euyl for good are agaynst me: because I folowe the thyng that is good
38:21Forsake me not O God: O my Lorde be not thou farre fro me
38:22Haste thee to helpe me: O Lorde my saluation

38:1A Psalme of Dauid for remembrance. O Lord, rebuke mee not in thine anger, neither chastise me in thy wrath.
38:2For thine arrowes haue light vpon me, and thine hand lyeth vpon me.
38:3There is nothing sound in my flesh, because of thine anger: neither is there rest in my bones because of my sinne.
38:4For mine iniquities are gone ouer mine head, and as a weightie burden they are too heauie for me.
38:5My woundes are putrified, and corrupt because of my foolishnes.
38:6I am bowed, and crooked very sore: I goe mourning all the day.
38:7For my reines are full of burning, and there is nothing sound in my flesh.
38:8I am weakened and sore broken: I roare for the very griefe of mine heart.
38:9Lord, I powre my whole desire before thee, and my sighing is not hid from thee.
38:10Mine heart panteth: my strength faileth me, and the light of mine eyes, euen they are not mine owne.
38:11My louers and my friends stand aside from my plague, and my kinsmen stand a farre off.
38:12They also, that seeke after my life, laye snares, and they that go about to do me euil, talke wicked things and imagine deceite continually.
38:13But I as a deafe man heard not, and am as a dumme man, which openeth not his mouth.
38:14Thus am I as a man, that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofes.
38:15For on thee, O Lord, do I waite: thou wilt heare me, my Lord, my God.
38:16For I said, Heare me, least they reioyce ouer me: for when my foote slippeth, they extol themselues against me.
38:17Surely I am ready to halte, and my sorow is euer before me.
38:18When I declare my paine, and am sory for my sinne,
38:19Then mine enemies are aliue and are mightie, and they that hate me wrongfully are many.
38:20They also, that rewarde euill for good, are mine aduersaries, because I follow goodnesse.
38:21Forsake me not, O Lord: be not thou farre from me, my God.
38:22Haste thee to helpe mee, O my Lord, my saluation.
