| 38:1 | [A Psalme of Dauid, to bring to remembrance.] O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. |
| 38:2 | For thine arrowes sticke fast in me; and thy hand presseth me sore. |
| 38:3 | There is no soundnesse in my flesh, because of thine anger: neither is there any rest in my bones, because of my sinne. |
| 38:4 | For mine iniquities are gone ouer mine head: as an heauy burden, they are too heauie for me. |
| 38:5 | My wounds stinke, and are corrupt: because of my foolishnesse. |
| 38:6 | I am troubled, I am bowed downe greatly; I goe mourning all the day long. |
| 38:7 | For my loynes are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundnesse in my flesh. |
| 38:8 | I am feeble and sore broken; I haue roared by reason of the disquietnesse of my heart. |
| 38:9 | Lord, all my desire is before thee: and my groning is not hid from thee. |
| 38:10 | My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eies, it also is gone from me. |
| 38:11 | My louers and my friends stand a loofe from my sore: and my kinsmen stand a farre off. |
| 38:12 | They also that seeke after my life, lay snares for me: and they that seeke my hurt, speake mischieuous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. |
| 38:13 | But I, as a deafe man, heard not; and I was as a dumbe man that openeth not his mouth. |
| 38:14 | Thus I was as a man that heareth not; and in whose mouth are no reproofes. |
| 38:15 | For in thee, O Lord, doe I hope: thou wilt heare, O Lord my God. |
| 38:16 | For I said, heare me, least otherwise they should reioyce ouer me: when my foot slippeth, they magnifie themselues against me. |
| 38:17 | For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. |
| 38:18 | For I will declare mine iniquitie; I will be sory for my sinne. |
| 38:19 | But mine enemies are liuely, and they are strong: and they that hate mee wrongfully, are multiplied. |
| 38:20 | They also that render euill for good, are mine aduersaries: because I follow the thing that good is. |
| 38:21 | Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not farre from me. |
| 38:22 | Make haste to helpe mee, O Lord my saluation. |

| 38:10 | Mine heart panteth: my strength faileth me, and the light of mine eyes, euen they are not mine owne. |
| 38:11 | My louers and my friends stand aside from my plague, and my kinsmen stand a farre off. |
| 38:12 | They also, that seeke after my life, laye snares, and they that go about to do me euil, talke wicked things and imagine deceite continually. |
| 38:13 | But I as a deafe man heard not, and am as a dumme man, which openeth not his mouth. |
| 38:14 | Thus am I as a man, that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofes. |
| 38:15 | For on thee, O Lord, do I waite: thou wilt heare me, my Lord, my God. |
| 38:16 | For I said, Heare me, least they reioyce ouer me: for when my foote slippeth, they extol themselues against me. |
| 38:17 | Surely I am ready to halte, and my sorow is euer before me. |
| 38:18 | When I declare my paine, and am sory for my sinne, |
| 38:19 | Then mine enemies are aliue and are mightie, and they that hate me wrongfully are many. |
| 38:20 | They also, that rewarde euill for good, are mine aduersaries, because I follow goodnesse. |
| 38:21 | Forsake me not, O Lord: be not thou farre from me, my God. |
| 38:22 | Haste thee to helpe mee, O my Lord, my saluation. |

| 38:6 | I ambrought in to so greate trouble & misery, that I go mournynge all the daye longe. |
| 38:7 | For my loynes are fylled with a sore disease, & there is no whole parte in my body. |
| 38:8 | I am feble & sore smytten, I haue roared for the very disquyetnes of my hert. |
| 38:9 | Lorde, thou knowest all my desyre, and my gronynge is not hyd from the. |
| 38:10 | My hert panteth, my strength hath fayled me, & the lyght of myne eyes is gone fro me. |
| 38:11 | My louers & my neyghbours dyd stande lokynge vpon my trouble, & my kynsmen stode a farre of. |
| 38:12 | They also that sought after my life, layed snares for me: & they that went aboute to do me euell, talked of wickednesse, & ymagined disceate all the daye longe. |
| 38:13 | As for me, I was lyke a deafe man & herde not: & as one that is domme, which doth not open his mouth. |
| 38:14 | I became euen as a man that heareth not: and in whose mouth are no reprofes. |
| 38:15 | For in the, O Lorde, haue I put my trust, thou shalt answere for me, O Lord my God. |
| 38:16 | I haue required, that they shuld not triumphe ouer me: for whan my fote slypte, they reioysed greatly against me. |
| 38:17 | And I truly am set in the plage, & my heuinesse is euer in my syght. |
| 38:18 | For I wyll confesse my wickednesse, and be sory for my synne. |
| 38:19 | But myne enemyes lyue, & are myghtie: & they that hate me wrongfully, are many in nombre. |
| 38:20 | They also that rewarde euell for good are agaynst me, because I folowe the thynge that good is. |
