Psalms - Chapter: 37

>
37:1[A Psalme of Dauid.] Fret not thy selfe because of euill doers, neither bee thou enuious against the workers of iniquitie.
37:2For they shall soone be cut downe like the grasse; and wither as the greene herbe.
37:3Trust in the Lord, and do good, so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verely thou shalt be fed.
37:4Delight thy selfe also in the Lord; and he shall giue thee the desires of thine heart.
37:5Commit thy way vnto the Lord: trust also in him, and he shall bring it to passe.
37:6And he shall bring forth thy righteousnes as the light, and thy iudgement as the noone day.
37:7Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thy selfe because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked deuices to passe.
37:8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thy selfe in any wise to doe euill.
37:9For euil doers shall be cut off: but those that waite vpon the Lord, they shall inherite the earth.
37:10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not bee: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
37:11But the meeke shall inherite the earth: and shall delight themselues in the abundance of peace.
37:12The wicked plotteth against the iust, and gnasheth vpon him with his teeth.
37:13The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is comming.
37:14The wicked haue drawen out the sword, and haue bent their bow to cast downe the poore and needy, and to slay such as be of vpright conuersation.
37:15Their sword shall enter into their owne heart, and their bowes shall be broken.
37:16A little that a righteous man hath, is better then the riches of many wicked.
37:17For the armes of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord vpholdeth the righteous.
37:18The Lord knoweth the dayes of the vpright: and their inheritance shall be for euer.
37:19They shall not be ashamed in the euill time: and in the dayes of famine they shalbe satisfied.
37:20But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambes: they shall consume: into smoke shall they consume away.
37:21The wicked borroweth, and payeth not againe: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giueth.
37:22For such as be blessed of him, shall inherite the earth: and they that be cursed of him, shalbe cut off.
37:23The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
37:24Though hee fall, he shall not be vtterly cast downe: for the Lord vpholdeth him with his hand.
37:25I haue bene yong, and now am old; yet haue I not seene the righteous forsaken, nor his seede begging bread.
37:26He is euer mercifull, and lendeth: and his seede is blessed.
37:27Depart from euill, and doe good; and dwell for euermore.
37:28For the Lord loueth iudgement, and forsaketh not his Saints, they are preserued for euer: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
37:29The righteous shall inherite the land, and dwell therein for euer.
37:30The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisedome; and his tongue talketh of iudgement.
37:31The Law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slide.
37:32The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
37:33The Lord will not leaue him in his hand, nor condemne him when he is iudged.
37:34Wait on the Lord, and keepe his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
37:35I haue seene the wicked in great power: and spreading himselfe like a greene bay tree.
37:36Yet he passed away, and loe he was not: yea, I sought him, but hee could not be found.
37:37Marke the perfect man, and behold the vpright: for the end of that man is peace.
37:38But the transgressours shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shalbe cut off.
37:39But the saluation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
37:40And the Lord shall helpe them and deliuer them: he shall deliuer them from the wicked, and saue them because they trust in him.

37:3Trust thou in the Lord and do good: dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed assuredly.
37:4And delite thy selfe in the Lord, and hee shall giue thee thine hearts desire.
37:5Commit thy way vnto the Lord, and trust in him, and he shall bring it to passe.
37:6And he shall bring foorth thy righteousnes as the light, and thy iudgement as the noone day.
37:7Waite patiently vpon the Lord and hope in him: fret not thy selfe for him which prospereth in his way: nor for the man that bringeth his enterprises to passe.
37:8Cease from anger, and leaue off wrath: fret not thy selfe also to doe euill.
37:9For euill doers shalbe cut off, and they that wait vpon the Lord, they shall inherite the land.
37:10Therefore yet a litle while, and the wicked shall not appeare, and thou shalt looke after his place, and he shall not be found.

37:12The wicked practiseth against the iust, and gnasheth his teeth against him.

37:14The wicked haue drawen their sworde, and haue bent their bowe, to cast downe the poore and needie, and to slay such as be of vpright conuersation.
37:15But their sword shall enter into their owne heart, and their bowes shalbe broken.
37:16A small thing vnto the iust man is better, then great riches to the wicked and mightie.
37:17For the armes of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord vpholdeth the iust men.
37:18The Lord knoweth the dayes of vpright men, and their inheritance shall bee perpetuall.
37:19They shall not be confounded in the perilous time, and in the daies of famine they shall haue ynough.
37:20But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be consumed as the fatte of lambes: euen with the smoke shall they consume away.
37:21The wicked boroweth and payeth not againe. but the righteous is mercifull, and giueth.

37:24Though he fall, hee shall not be cast off: for the Lord putteth vnder his hand.
37:25I haue beene yong, and am olde: yet I sawe neuer the righteous forsaken, nor his seede begging bread.

37:27Flee from euill and doe good, and dwell for euer.
37:28For the Lord loueth iudgement, and forsaketh not his Saintes: they shall be preserued for euermore: but the seede of the wicked shall be cut off.
37:29The righteous men shall inherit the lande, and dwell therein for euer.
37:30The mouth of the righteous will speake of wisedome, and his tongue will talke of iudgement.
37:31For the Lawe of his God is in his heart, and his steppes shall not slide.
37:32The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
37:33But the Lord wil not leaue him in his hand, nor condemne him, when he is iudged.
37:34Waite thou on the Lord, and keepe his way, and he shall exalt thee, that thou shalt inherite the lande: when the wicked men shall perish, thou shalt see.
37:35I haue seene the wicked strong, and spreading himselfe like a greene bay tree.
37:36Yet he passed away, and loe, he was gone, and I sought him, but he could not be founde.
37:37Marke the vpright man, and beholde the iust: for the end of that man is peace.
37:38But the transgressours shall be destroyed together, and the ende of the wicked shall bee cut off.
37:39But the saluation of the righteous men shalbe of the Lord: he shalbe their strength in the time of trouble.
37:40For the Lord shall helpe them, and deliuer them: he shall deliuer them from the wicked, and shall saue them, because they trust in him.

37:1A Psalme of Dauid. Fret not thy self because of the vngodly: nether be thou enuyous agaynst the euell doers.
37:2For they shall soone be cut downe lyke the grasse, & be wythered euen as the grene herbe.
37:3Put thou thy trust in the Lorde, & be doinge good: dwell in the lande, and verely thou shalt be fedd.
37:4Delyte thou in the Lorde, & he shall geue the thy hertes desyre.
37:5Commytte thy waye vnto the Lorde, & put thy trust in hym, & he shall brynge it to passe.
37:6He shall make thy rightuousnesse as cleare as the light, & thy iust dealing as the noone daye.
37:7Holde the styll in the Lorde, & abyde pacyently vpon him: but greue not thy selfe at hym, whose waye doth prospere agenst the man that doth after euell councels.
37:8Leaue of from wrath, & let go displeasure, frett not thy self, els shalt thou be moued to do euell.
37:9Wycked doers shalbe roted out: & they that paciently abyde the Lorde, those shall enheret the lande.
37:10Yet a lytle whyle, & the vngodly shalbe clene gone: thou shalt loke after hys place, & he shalbe awaye.
37:11But the meke spreted shall possesse the earth, & shalbe refresshed in the multitude of peace.
37:12The vngodly seketh councell agaynst the iust, & gnassheth vpon hym with his tethe.
37:13The Lord shall laughe hym to scorne, for he hath sene, that his daye is commynge.
37:14The vngodly haue drawen out the swerde, and haue bended their bowe, to cast downe the poore and nedye, and to slaye soch as be of a ryght conuersacion.
37:15Their swerde shall go thorow their awne herte, & their bowe shalbe broken.
37:16Asinall thinge that the ryghtuous hath, is better then greate ryches of the vngodly.
37:17For the armes of the vngodly shalbe broken, and the Lorde vpholdeth the ryghtuous.
37:18The Lord knoweth the dayes of the godly, & their inheritaunce shall endure for euer.
37:19They shall not be confounded in the perelous tyme, and in the dayes of derth they shall haue ynough.
37:20As for the vngodly, they shall peryshe: & the enemyes of the Lorde shall consume, as the fatt of lambes: yee, euen as the smoke shall they consume awaye.
37:21The vngodly boroweth and payeth not agayne, but the rightuous is mercyfull & lyberall.
37:22Soch as be blessed of God, shall possesse the lande, & they that be curssed of hym, shalbe roted out.
37:23The Lord ordreth a good mans goinge, & maketh his waye acceptable to him self.
37:24Though he fall, he shal not be cast awaye, for the Lord vpholdeth him with his hande.
37:25I haue bene yonge, and nowe am olde: & yet sawe I neuer the rightuous forsaken, ner his sede begginge theyr bread.
37:26The ryghtuous is euer mercyfull, and lendeth, and his sede is blessed.
37:27Fle from euell, and do the thynge that is good, and dwel for euer.
37:28For the Lorde loueth the thynge that is ryght, he forsaketh not hys that be godly, but they are preserued for euermore:
37:29as for the sede of the vngodly, it shalbe roted out.
37:30The ryghtuous shall inherett the lande, and dwell therin for euer.
37:31The mouth of the ryghtuous is exercised in wysdome and his tonge wilbe talkyng of iudgement,
37:32The lawe of his God is in his hert, and his goynges shall not slyde.
37:33The vngodly seeth the ryghtuous, & seketh occasyon to slaye hym.
37:34The Lorde wyll not leaue hym in hys hande, ner condempne him when he is iudged.
37:35Hope thou in the Lord, and kepe his waye, & he shal promote the, that thou shalt possesse the lande: when the vngodly shal perishe, thou shalt se it.
37:36I my selfe haue sene the vngodly in great power, & florishinge lyke a grene baye tree:
37:37& he vanished awaye, & lo, he was gone: I sought him, but coulde no where be found.
37:38Kepe innocency, and take hede vnto the thynge that is ryght, for that shall brynge a man peace at the last.
37:39As for the transgressours, they shall peryshe together, and the ende of the vngodly is, they shall be roted out at the last. But the saluacion of the ryghtuous commeth of the Lorde, which is also their strength in the tyme of trouble.
37:40And the Lorde shall stande by them, and saue them: he shall delyuer them from the vngodly, and shall saue them, because they put theyr trust in hym.
