>
48:1[A song, and Psalme for the sonnes of Korah.] Great is the Lord, and greatly to bee praised in the citie of our God, in the mountaine of his holinesse.
48:2Beautifull for situation, the ioy of the whole earth is mout Sion, on the sides of the North, the citie of the great King.
48:3God is knowen in her palaces for a refuge.
48:4For loe, the kings were assembled: they passed by together.
48:5They sawe it, and so they marueiled, they were troubled and hasted away.
48:6Feare tooke holde vpon them there, and paine, as of a woman in trauaile.
48:7Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an East wind.
48:8As we haue heard, so haue wee seene in the citie of the Lord of hosts, in the citie of our God, God will establish it for euer. Selah,
48:9Wee haue thought of thy louing kindnesse, O God, in the middest of thy Temple.
48:10According to thy Name, O God, so is thy praise vnto the endes of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousnesse.
48:11Let mount Sion reioyce, let the daughters of Iudah be glad, because of thy iudgements.
48:12Walke about Sion, and goe round about her: tell the towres thereof.
48:13Marke yee well her bulwarkes, consider her palaces; that yee may tell it to the generation following.
48:14For this God is our God for euer, and euer; he will be our guide euen vnto death.

 

48:1A song or Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praysed, in the Citie of our God, euen vpon his holy Mountaine.
48:2Mount Zion, lying Northwarde, is faire in situation: it is the ioy of the whole earth, and the Citie of the great King.
48:3In the palaces thereof God is knowen for a refuge.
48:4For lo, the Kings were gathered, and went together.
48:5When they sawe it, they marueiled: they were astonied, and suddenly driuen backe.
48:6Feare came there vpon them, and sorowe, as vpon a woman in trauaile.
48:7As with an East winde thou breakest the shippes of Tarshish, so were they destroyed.
48:8As we haue heard, so haue we seene in the citie of the Lord of hostes, in the Citie of our God: God will stablish it for euer. Selah.
48:9We waite for thy louing kindnes, O God, in the middes of thy Temple.
48:10O God, according vnto thy Name, so is thy prayse vnto the worlds end: thy right hand is full of righteousnes.
48:11Let mount Zion reioyce, and the daughters of Iudah be glad, because of thy iudgements.
48:12Compasse about Zion, and goe round about it, and tell the towres thereof.
48:13Marke well the wall thereof: beholde her towres, that ye may tell your posteritie.
48:14For this God is our God for euer and euer: he shall be our guide vnto the death.

 

48:1A songe of a Psalme of the children of Corah Greate is the Lorde, & hyelye to be praysed, in the cytie of oure God, euen vpon his holy hyll.
48:2The hyll of Sion is a fayre place, & the ioye of the whole earth: vpon the north syde lyeth the cytie of the great kyng.
48:3God is well knowne in her palaces, as a sure refuge.
48:4For lo, the kynges are gathered, & gone by together.
48:5They marueled, to se soch thinges: they were astonied, and sodenly cast downe.
48:6Feare came there vpon them, & sorowe, as vpon a woman in her trauayle.
48:7Thou shalt breake the shyppes of the see, thorow the east wynde.
48:8Lyke as we haue herd, so haue we sene in the cytie of the Lord of Hostes, in the cytie of oure God. God vpholdeth the same for euer. Sela.
48:9We wayte for thy louyng kyndnesse (O God) in the myddest of thy temple.
48:10(O God) accordyng vnto thy name, so is thy prayse vnto the worldes ende: thy ryght hand is full of ryghteousnes.
48:11Let the mount Sion reioyse, and the daughters of Iuda be glad because of thy iudgementes.
48:12Walke about Sion, and go round about her, and tell the towres therof.
48:13Marcke well her bulworkes, set vp her houses, that ye maye tell them that come after.
48:14For thys God is oure God for euer & euer, he shall be ouer gyde vnto death.
