Psalms - Chapter: 49

>
49:1[To the chiefe Musician, a Psalme for the sonnes of Korah.] Heare this, all yee people, giue eare all yee inhabitants of the world:
49:2Both low, and high, rich and poore together.
49:3My mouth shall speake of wisedome: and the meditation of my heart shalbe of vnderstanding.
49:4I will incline mine eare to a parable; I will open my darke saying vpon the harpe.
49:5Wherefore should I feare in the daies of euill, when the iniquitie of my heeles shall compasse me about?
49:6They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselues in the multitude of their riches:
49:7None of them can by any meanes redeeme his brother, nor giue to God a ransome for him:
49:8(For the redemption of their soule is precious, and it ceaseth for euer.)
49:9That he should still liue for euer, and not see corruption.
49:10For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the foole, and the brutish person perish, and leaue their wealth to others.
49:11Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for euer, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their owne names.
49:12Neuerthelesse man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beastes that perish.
49:13This their way is their follie; yet their posteritie approue their sayings. Selah.
49:14Like sheepe they are layd in the graue, death shall feede on them; and the vpright shall haue dominion ouer them in the morning, and their beauty shall consume in the graue, from their dwelling.
49:15But God will redeeme my soule from the power of the graue; for he shall receiue me. Selah.
49:16Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.
49:17For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
49:18Though whiles he liued, he blessed his soule: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thy selfe.
49:19Hee shall goe to the generation of his fathers, they shall neuer see light.
49:20Man that is in honour and vnderstandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

49:1To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Heare this, all ye people: giue eare, all ye that dwell in the world,
49:2As well lowe as hie, both rich and poore.
49:3My mouth shall speake of wisdome, and the meditation of mine heart is of knowledge.
49:4I will incline mine eare to a parable, and vtter my graue matter vpon the harpe.
49:5Wherefore should I feare in the euil dayes, when iniquitie shall compasse me about, as at mine heeles?
49:6They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches.
49:7Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God,
49:8(So precious is the redemption of their soules, and the continuance for euer)
49:9That he may liue still for euer, and not see the graue.
49:10For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others.
49:11Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names.
49:12But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.
49:13This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. Selah.
49:14Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue.
49:15But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. Selah.
49:16Be not thou afrayd when one is made rich, and when the glory of his house is increased.
49:17For he shall take nothing away when he dieth, neither shall his pompe descende after him.
49:18For while he liued, he reioyced himselfe: and men will prayse thee, when thou makest much of thy selfe.
49:19He shall enter into the generation of his fathers, and they shall not liue for euer.
49:20Man is in honour, and vnderstandeth not: he is like to beasts that perish.

49:1To the chaunter, a Psalme for the chyldren of Corah. O heare this, all ye people: pondre it with your eares, all ye that dwell in the worlde.
49:2Hye and lowe, ryche and poore, one wyth another:
49:3My mouth shall speake of wysdome, and my hert shall muse of vnderstandyng.
49:4I wyll enclyne myne eare to the parable, and shew my darcke speach vpon the harpe.
49:5Wherfore shulde I feare in the dayes of wyckednesse, and when the wyckednesse of my heles compaseth me round about?
49:6There be some that put theyr in trust their goodes, & boast them selues in the multitude of theyr ryches.
49:7But no man maye delyuer hys brother, ner make agrement vnto God for hym.
49:8For it costeth more to redeme theyr soules, so that he must let that alone for euer.
49:9Yee, though he lyue longe, and se nat the graue.
49:10For he seeth, that wyse men also dye, and peryshe together, as well as the ignoraunt & folysh, and leaue theyr ryches for other:
49:11And yet they thynke, that theyr houses shall continue for euer, and that theyr dwelling places shall endure from one generacyon to another, & call the landes after theyr awne names.
49:12Neuerthelesse, man wyll not abyde in honour, seyng he maye be compared vnto the beastes that peryshe: this is the waye of them.
49:13Thys is their folyshnesse, and their posterite prayse their sayeng. Sela.
49:14They lye in the hell lyke shepe, death gnaweth vpon them, and the ryghteous shall haue dominacyon of them in the mornynge: theyr bewtye shall consume in the sepulchre out of theyr dwellynge.
49:15But God shall delyuer my soule from the place of hell, for he shall receaue me. Sela.
49:16Be not thou afrayed though one be made ryche, or yf the glory of hys house be increased.
49:17For he shall cary nothyng awaye with hym when he dyeth, nether shall hys pompe folowe hym:
49:18For whyle he lyued, he counted hymselfe an happye man: and so longe as thou doest well vnto thy selfe, men wyll speake good of the.
49:19He shall folowe the generacyons of hys fathers, and shall neuer se lyght.
49:20Man beynge in honoure hath no vnderstandyng, but is compared vnto the beastes, that peryshe.
