Psalms - Chapter: 60

60:1[To the chiefe Musician vpon Shushan-Eduth Michtam of Dauid, to teach. When hee stroue with Aram Naharaim, and with Aram Zobah, when Ioab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt, twelue thousand.] O God, thou hast cast vs off; thou hast scattered vs, thou hast bene displeased, O turne thy selfe to vs againe.
60:2Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heale the breaches thereof, for it shaketh.
60:3Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made vs to drinke the wine of astonishment.
60:4Thou hast giuen a banner to them that feare thee: that it may be displayed because of the trueth. Selah.
60:5That thy beloued may be deliuered; saue with thy right hand, and heare mee.
60:6God hath spoken in his holinesse, I wil reioyce: I will diuide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
60:7Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Iudah is my Lawgiuer.
60:8Moab is my wash-pot, ouer Edom wil I cast out my shooe: Philistia, by an ironie.triumph thou because of me.
60:9Who wil bring me into the strong citie? who will lead me into Edom?
60:10Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast vs off? and thou, O God, which didst not goe out with our armies.
60:11Giue vs helpe from trouble: for vaine is the helpe of man.
60:12Through God wee shall doe valiantly: for he it is that shall tread downe our enemies.

 

60:1O Lorde thou hast cast vs out, thou hast dispearsed vs, thou art displeased: O turne thee vnto vs agayne
60:2Thou hast made the land to tremble, thou hast cleft it asunder: heale the breaches therof, for it is redy to fall downe
60:3Thou hast made thy people see heauie thinges: thou hast geuen vs wyne to drinke, that maketh vs tremble
60:4But to suche as feare thee: thou hast geuen a banner to be lyfted vp on high for the trueth sake. Selah
60:5Therfore that thy beloued may be deliuered: helpe me with thy right hand, and heare me
60:6The Lorde hath spoken in his holynes (whereof I wyll reioyce) this: I wyll deuide Sichem, and measure the valley of Sucoth
60:7Gilead shalbe myne, and Manasses shalbe myne: Ephraim also shalbe the strength of my head, and Iuda my law geuer
60:8Moab shalbe my washpot: ouer Edom I wyll cast my shoe, Philistea be thou glad of me
60:9Who wyll leade me into the stong citie? who wyll bring me into Edom
60:10Hast not thou remoued vs from thence O Lorde? and wylt not thou O Lorde go out with our hoastes
60:11Geue vs ayde against trouble: for the sauing helpe of man is but vayne
60:12Thorowe the Lorde we wyll do valiaunt actes: for he him selfe wyll treade downe our enemies

When he fought against Aram Naharaim, and against Aram Zobah, when Joab returned and slew twelve thousand Edomites in the salt valley. O God, thou hast cast vs out, thou hast scattered vs, thou hast bene angry, turne againe vnto vs.
60:2Thou hast made the land to tremble, and hast made it to gape: heale the breaches thereof, for it is shaken.
60:3Thou hast shewed thy people heauy things: thou hast made vs to drinke the wine of giddines.
60:4But now thou hast giuen a banner to them that feare thee, that it may be displayed because of thy trueth. Selah.
60:5That thy beloued may be deliuered, helpe with thy right hand and heare me.
60:6God hath spoken in his holines: therefore I will reioyce: I shall deuide Shechem, and measure the valley of Succoth.
60:7Gilead shalbe mine, and Manasseh shalbe mine: Ephraim also shalbe the strength of mine head: Iudah is my lawgiuer.
60:8Moab shalbe my wash pot: ouer Edom will I cast out my shoe: Palestina shew thy selfe ioyfull for me.
60:9Who will leade me into the strong citie? who will bring me vnto Edom?
60:10Wilt not thou, O God, which hadest cast vs off, and didest not go forth, O God, with our armies?
60:11Giue vs helpe against trouble: for vaine is the helpe of man.
60:12Through God we shall doe valiantly: for he shall tread downe our enemies.
