Psalms - Chapter: 68

>
68:1To the chaunter, a Psalme and songe of Dauid. Let God aryse, and let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him, flye before him.
68:2Like as the smoke vanysheth, so shalt thou dryue them awaye: and lyke as waxe melteth at the fyre: so let the vngodly perysh at the presence of God.
68:3But let the ryghteous be glad & reioyse before God: let them also be mery and ioyfull.
68:4Oh synge vnto God, and synge prayses vnto his name: magnyfie him that rydeth vpon the heauens as it were vpon a horse: prayse ye him in his name Ia & reioyse before him.
68:5He is a father of the fatherlesse, and defendeth the cause of wyddowes: euen God in his holy habitacion.
68:6He is the God that maketh men to be of one mynde in a house, and bryngeth the presoners out of captiuyte, but letteth the rennagates contynue in scarcenesse.
68:7O God, when thou wentest forth before the people, when thou wentest thorow the wyldernesse. Sela.
68:8The earth shoke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of God, euen as Sinai also was moued at the presence of God, which is the God of Israel.
68:9Thou O God sendedst a gracyous rayne vpon thyne enheritaunce, and refresshedst it, when it was weerye
68:10Thy congregacyon shall dwell therin: For thou (O God) hast of thy goodnesse prepared for the poore.
68:11The Lorde gaue the worde: greate was the company of the preachers.
68:12Kynges with theyr armyes dyd flye, and were discomfited, and they of the houshold deuyded the spoyle.
68:13Though ye haue lyen amonge the pottes, yet shall ye be as the wynges of a doue that is couered with syluer wynges, and hir fethers lyke golde.
68:14When the Almyghty scatred kynges for their sake, then were they as white as snowe in Zalmon.
68:15As the hyll of Basan so is Gods hyll: euen a hye hill as the hyll of Basan.
68:16Why hoppe ye so ye hye hylles? Thys is Gods hill, in the which it pleaseth him to dwell: yee, the Lorde will abyde in it for euer.
68:17The charettes of God are twentie thousande, euen thousandes of angels, and the Lord is amonge them as in the holy place of Sinai.
68:18Thou art gone vp an hye, thou hast led captiuitye captiue, and receaued gyftes for men. Yee, euen for thyne enemies, that the Lorde God myght dwell amonge them.
68:19Praysed be the Lorde dayly, euen the God which helpeth vs, and poureth his benefytes vpon vs. Sela.
68:20He is oure God, euen the God of whom commeth saluacion: God is the Lorde by whom we escape death.
68:21God shall wounde the heade of his enemies, and the hearie scalpe of soch one as goeth on still in his wickednes.
68:22The Lord hath sayde: I will bringe my people agayne as I dyd from Basan: myne owne wyll I brynge agayne as I dyd somtyme from the depe of the see.
68:23That thy fote may be dipped in the bloude of thyne enemyes, and that the tong of thy dogges maye be redd thorow the same.
68:24It is well sene, O God, how thou goest, how thou my God and kynge goest in the Sanctuary.
68:25The syngers go before, the mynstrels folow after: in the myddes are the damosels playeng with the tymbrels.
68:26Geue thankes O Israell, vnto God the Lorde in the congregacions from the grounde of the hart.
68:27There is lytle BenIamin their ruler: and the Princes of Iuda, their councell: the Princes of Zabulon, and the Prynces of Nephthali.
68:28Thy God hath sent forth strength for the, stablysh the thing, O God, that thou hast wrought in vs.
68:29For thy temples sake at Ierusalem: so shall kynges brynge presentes vnto the.
68:30Whan the company of the speare men and multytude of the mightye are scatred abroade amonge the beastes of the people (so that they humbly bring peces of syluer) and whan he hath scatred the people that delyte in warre.
68:31Then shall the Prynces come out of Egypte, the Morians land shall soone stretch out her handes vnto God.
68:32Synge vnto God, O ye kyngdomes of the earth: O syng prayses vnto the Lord. Sela.
68:33Which sytteth in the heauens ouer all from the begynnynge: Lo, he doth sende out hys voyce, yee, and that a myghtie voyce.
68:34Ascrybe ye the power vnto God, ouer Israel: his worshypp & strength is in the cloudes.
68:35O God, wonderfull art thou in thy holy places: euen the God of Israell, he will geue strength and power vnto his people. Blessed be God.

68:2God, make thou me saaf; for watris `entriden til to my soule.
68:3I am set in the sliym of the depthe; and `substaunce is not. I cam in to the depthe of the see; and the tempest drenchide me.
68:4I traueilide criynge, my cheekis weren maad hoose; myn iyen failiden, the while Y hope in to my God.
68:5Thei that hatiden me with out cause; weren multiplied aboue the heeris of myn heed. Myn enemyes that pursueden me vniustli weren coumfortid; Y paiede thanne tho thingis, whiche Y rauischide not.
68:6God, thou knowist myn vnkunnyng; and my trespassis ben not hid fro thee.
68:7Lord, Lord of vertues; thei, that abiden thee, be not aschamed in me. God of Israel; thei, that seken thee, be not schent on me.
68:8For Y suffride schenschipe for thee; schame hilide my face.
68:9I am maad a straunger to my britheren; and a pilgryme to the sones of my modir.
68:10For the feruent loue of thin hous eet me; and the schenschipis of men seiynge schenschipis to thee fellen on me.
68:11And Y hilide my soule with fastyng; and it was maad in to schenschip to me.
68:12And Y puttide my cloth an heire; and Y am maad to hem in to a parable.
68:13Thei, that saten in the yate, spaken ayens me; and thei, that drunken wien, sungen of me.
68:14But Lord, Y dresse my preier to thee; God, Y abide the tyme of good plesaunce. Here thou me in the multitude of thi mercy; in the treuthe of thin heelthe.
68:15Delyuer thou me fro the cley, that Y be not faste set in; delyuere thou me fro hem that haten me, and fro depthe of watris.
68:16The tempest of watir drenche not me, nethir the depthe swolowe me; nethir the pit make streit his mouth on me.
68:17Lord, here thou me, for thi merci is benygne; vp the multitude of thi merciful doyngis biholde thou in to me.
68:18And turne not awei thi face fro thi child; for Y am in tribulacioun, here thou me swiftli.
68:19Yyue thou tente to my soule, and delyuer thou it; for myn enemyes delyuere thou me.
68:20Thou knowist my schenschip, and my dispysyng; and my schame.
68:21Alle that troblen me ben in thi siyt; myn herte abood schendschipe, and wretchidnesse. And Y abood hym, that was sory togidere, and noon was; and that schulde coumforte, and Y foond not.
68:22And thei yauen galle in to my meete; and in my thirst thei yauen `to me drinke with vynegre.
68:23The boord of hem be maad bifore hem in to a snare; and in to yeldyngis, and in to sclaundir.
68:24Her iyen be maad derk, that thei se not; and euere bouwe doun the bak of hem.
68:25Schede out thin ire on hem; and the strong veniaunce of thin ire take hem.
68:26The habitacioun of hem be maad forsakun; and `noon be that dwelle in the tabernaclis of hem.
68:27For thei pursueden hym, whom thou hast smyte; and thei addiden on the sorewe of my woundis.
68:28Adde thou wickidnesse on the wickidnesse of hem; and entre thei not in to thi riytwisnesse.
68:29Be thei don awei fro the book of lyuynge men; and be thei not writun with iust men.
68:30I am pore and sorewful; God, thin heelthe took me vp.
68:31I schal herye the name of God with song; and Y schal magnefye hym in heriyng.
68:32And it schal plese God more than a newe calf; bryngynge forth hornes and clees.
68:33Pore men se, and be glad; seke ye God, and youre soule schal lyue.
68:34For the Lord herde pore men; and dispiside not hise boundun men.
68:35Heuenes and erthe, herye hym; the se, and alle crepynge bestis in tho, herye hym.

 

68:1Let God aryse, so shal his enemies be scatered, and they that hate him, shal fle before him.

68:3But the rightuous shal be glad & reioyse before God, they shalbe mery & ioyful.
68:4Oh synge vnto God, synge prayses vnto his name: magnifie him yt rydeth aboue the heaues (whose name is ye LORDE) & reioyse before hi.
68:5He is a father of ye fatherlesse, he is a defender of widdowes: eue God in his holy habitacio.
68:6He is the God yt maketh me to be of one mynde in a house, & bryngeth ye presoners out of captiuite in due season, but letteth ye rennagates cotinue in scarcenesse.
68:7O God, when thou wetest forth before yi people, whe thou wetest thorow ye wildernes.
68:8Sela. The earth shoke, & ye heauens dropped at the presence of God in Sinai, at ye presence of God which is ye God of Israel.
68:9Thou o God sendest a gracious rayne vpon thyne enheritauce, & refreshest it, when it is drye.
68:10That thy beastes maye dwell therin, which thou of thy goodnes hast prepared for the poore.
68:11The LORDE shal geue the worde, wt greate hoostes of Euagelistes.
68:12Kinges wt their armies shal fle, & they of ye housholde shal deuyde ye spoyle.
68:13Yf so be yt ye lye amoge the pales, the doues fethers shalbe couered with syluer, & hir winges of the color of golde.
68:14When the Allmightie setteth kynges vpo the earth, it shalbe cleare euen in the darcknesse.
68:15The hill of Basan is Gods hill, the hill of Basan is a pleteous hill.
68:16Why hoppe ye so, ye greate hilles? It pleaseth God to dwell vpo this hill, yee the LORDE wil abyde in it for euer.
68:17The charettes of God are many M. tymes a thousande, the LORDE is amoge them in the holy Sinai.
68:18Thou art gone vp an hye, thou hast led captyuite captyue, & receaued giftes for me: Yee euen for thy enemies, that they might dwell with the LORDE God.
68:19Praysed be the LORDE daylie, eue ye God which helpeth vs, & poureth his benefites vpo vs.
68:20Sela. The God yt is or Sauior, eue God the LORDE by who we escape death.
68:21The God that smyteth his enemies vpo the heades & vpon the hayrie scalpes: soch as go on still in their wikednes.
68:22The LORDE hath sayde: some wil I bringe agayne from Basan, some wil I bringe agayne fro the depe of the see.
68:23That thy fote maye be dipped in the bloude of thine enemies, & that thy dogges maye licke it vp.
68:24It is well sene (o God how thou goest, how thou my God and kynge goest in the Sanctuary.
68:25The syngers go before, and then the mynstrells amonge the maydens with the tymbrels.
68:26O geue thankes vnto God the LORDE in the congregacion, for the welles of Israel.
68:27There litle Beniamin, the prynces of Iuda, the prynces of Zabulo, and the prynces of Nephthali beare rule amoge them.
68:28Thy God hath comitted stregth vnto the, stablish the thinge (o God) that thou hast wrought in vs.
68:29For thy teples sake at Ierusalem shal kynges brynge presentes vnto the.
68:30Reproue the beestes amonge the redes, the heape of bulles with the calues: those that dryue for money. Oh scatre the people that delyte in batayle.
68:31The prynces shal come out of Egipte, the Morians lode shal stretch out hir hondes vnto God.
68:32Synge vnto God, o ye kyngdomes of the earth: o synge prayses vnto the LORDE.
68:33Sela. Which sytteth in the heauens ouer all fro the begynnge: Lo, he shal sende out his voyce, yee and that a mightie voyce.
68:34Ascrybe ye the power vnto God, his glory is in Israel, and his might in the cloudes.
68:35God is wonderfull in his Sanctuary, he is the God of Israel, he will geue strength and power vnto his people. Blessed be God.
