Psalms - Chapter: 72

>
72:1Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
72:2He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
72:3The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
72:4He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
72:5They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
72:6He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
72:7In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
72:8He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
72:9They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
72:10The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
72:11Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
72:12For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
72:13He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
72:14He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
72:15And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
72:16There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
72:17His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
72:18Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
72:19And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
72:20The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

 

72:1For Salomon. Geue the kynge thy iudgementes (O God) and thy righteousnesse vnto the kynges sonne.
72:2Then shall he iudge thy people accordinge vnto right, and defende the poore.
72:3The mountaynes also shall brynge peace, and the lytle hilles righteousnesse vnto the people.
72:4He shall kepe the symple folke by their ryght, defende the chyldren of the poore, and punish the wronge doer.
72:5They shall feare the as long as the sonne and mone endureth, from one generacion to another.
72:6He shall come downe like the rayne into a flese of wolle, euen as the droppes that water the earth.
72:7In his tyme shall the ryghteous florish, yee, and aboundaunce of peace, so longe as the mone endureth,
72:8His dominion shalbe also from the one see to the other, and from the floud vnto the worldes ende.
72:9They that dwell in the wildernes shall knele before him, his enemies shall licke the dust.
72:10The kynges of Tharsis and of the Iles shall geue presentes, the kynges of Araby and Saba shall bring gyftes.
72:11All kinges shal fall downe before him: all nacions shall do him seruice.
72:12For he shall delyuer the poore when he cryeth: the neady also and him that hath no helper.
72:13He shalbe fauorable to the simple and neady: and shall preserue the soules of the poore.
72:14He shall delyuer their soules from falshede and wronge, and deare shall theyr bloud be in his syght.
72:15He shall lyue, & vnto him shalbe geuen of the golde of Arabia: Prayer shalbe made euer vnto him, and daylie shall he be praysed.
72:16There shalbe an heape of corne in the earth hye vpon the hylles, his frute shall shake lyke Libanus, and shalbe grene in the cite, like grasse vpon the earth.
72:17His name shall endure for euer, his name shall remayne vnder the sunne amonge the posterites, which shalbe blessed thorow him, and all the Heathen shall prayse him
72:18Blessed be the Lorde God, euen the God of Israell which onely doth wonderous thinges.
72:19And blessed be the name of hys maiesty for euer, and all the erth shalbe filled with his maiestye. Amen, Amen.
72:20Here ende the prayers of Dauid the sonne of Isai.
