Psalms - Chapter: 77

>
77:1To the Chaunter, for Ieduthun a Psalme of Asaph. I Wyll crye vnto God wt my voyce, euen vnto God wyll I crye wyth my voyce, and he shall herken vnto me.
77:2In the tyme of my trouble I sought the Lorde: my sore ranne and ceassed not in the nyght ceason: my soule refused comforte.
77:3When I am in heuynesse, I wyll thynke vpon God: when my hert is vexed, I wyll complayne. Sela.
77:4Thou holdest myne eyes wakynge, I am so feble, that I cannot speake.
77:5I haue consydred the dayes of olde, and the yeares that are past.
77:6I call to remembraunce my songe: and in the nyght I commune with myne awne hert, and search out my spretes.
77:7Wyll the Lord absent him selfe for euer? And will he be no more intreated?
77:8Is hys mercy clene gone for euer? And is hys promyse come vtterly to an ende for euermore?
77:9Hath God forgotten to be gracyous? And wyll he shutt vp hys louynge kyndnesse in dyspleasure? Sela.
77:10And I sayde: It is myne awne infirmyte: But I wyll remembre the yeares of the ryght hande of the moost hyest.
77:11I wyll remembre the worckes of the Lorde, and call to mynde thy wonders of olde tyme.
77:12I will thynke also of all thy worckes, and my talkynge shalbe of thy doynges.
77:13Thy waye, O God, is holy: who is so greate a God as God?
77:14Thou art the God that doth wonders, and hast declared thy power among people.
77:15Thou hast myghtely delyuered thy people, euen the sonnes of Iacob and Ioseph. Sela.
77:16The waters sawe the, O God, the waters sawe the, & were afrayed: the deapthes also were troubled.
77:17The cloudes poured out water, the ayer thondered, & thyne arowes went abroade.
77:18The voyce of thy thonder was hearde rounde aboute, the lyghtenynges shone vpon the grounde, the earth was moued and shoke wythall
77:19Thy waye is in the see, and thy pathes in the greate waters, and thy fotesteppes are not knowne.
77:20Thou leddest thy people lyke shepe, by the hande of Moses and Aaron.

 

77:1The `title of the seuene and seuentithe salm. The lernyng of Asaph. Mi puple, perseyue ye my lawe; bowe youre eere in to the wordis of my mouth.
77:2I schal opene my mouth in parablis; Y schal speke perfite resouns fro the bigynnyng.
77:3Hou grete thingis han we herd, aud we han knowe tho; and oure fadris. telden to vs.
77:4Tho ben not hid fro the sones of hem; in anothir generacioun. And thei telden the heriyngis of the Lord, and the vertues of hym; and hise merueilis, whyche he dide.
77:5And he reiside witnessyng in Jacob; and he settide lawe in Israel. Hou grete thingis comaundide he to oure fadris, to make tho knowun to her sones;
77:6that another generacioun knowe. Sones, that schulen be born, and schulen rise vp; schulen telle out to her sones.
77:7That thei sette her hope in God, and foryete not the werkis of God; and that thei seke hise comaundementis.
77:8Lest thei be maad a schrewid generacioun; and terrynge to wraththe, as the fadris of hem. A generacioun that dresside not his herte; and his spirit was not bileued with God.
77:9The sones of Effraym, bendinge a bouwe and sendynge arowis; weren turned in the dai of batel.
77:10Thei kepten not the testament of God; and thei nolden go in his lawe.
77:11And thei foryaten hise benefices; and hise merueils, whiche he schewide to hem.
77:12He dide merueils bifore the fadris of hem in the loond of Egipt; in the feeld of Taphneos.
77:13He brak the see, and ledde hem thorou; and he ordeynede the watris as in a bouge.
77:14And he ledde hem forth in a cloude of the dai; and al niyt in the liytnyng of fier.
77:15He brak a stoon in deseert; and he yaf watir to hem as in a myche depthe.
77:16And he ledde watir out of the stoon; and he ledde forth watris as floodis.
77:17And thei `leiden to yit to do synne ayens hym; thei excitiden hiye God in to ire, in a place with out water.
77:18And thei temptiden God in her hertis; that thei axiden meetis to her lyues.
77:19And thei spaken yuel of God; thei seiden, Whether God may make redi a bord in desert?
77:20For he smoot a stoon, and watris flowiden; and streemys yeden out in aboundaunce. Whether also he may yyue breed; ether make redi a bord to his puple?

 

77:1I cried vnto God with my voyce, yee euen vnto God cried I with my voyce, & he herde me.
77:2In the tyme of my trouble I sought the LORDE, I helde vp my hondes vnto him in the night season, for my soule refused all other comforte.
77:3When I was in heuynesse, I thought vpo God: whe my hert was vexed, then dyd I speake.
77:4Sela. Thou heldest myne eyes wakynge, I was so feble, that I coude not speake,
77:5Then remembred I the tymes of olde, & the yeares that were past.
77:6I called to remembraunce my songe in the night, I commoned with myne owne herte, and sought out my sprete.
77:7Wil the LORDE cast out for euer? Wil he be nomore intreated?
77:8Is his mercy cleane gone? Is his promyse come vtterly to an ende for euermore?
77:9Hath the LORDE forgotten to be gracious? Or, hath he shut vp his louynge kyndnesse in displeasure?
77:10Sela. At the last I came to this poynte, that I thought: O why art thou so foolish? the right honde of the most hyest can chaunge all.
77:11Therfore wil I remembre the workes of the LORDE, and call to mynde thy wonders of olde tyme.
77:12I wil speake of all thy workes, and my talkynge shalbe of thy doinges.
77:13Thy waye (o God) is holy, who is so greate & mightie as God?
77:14Thou art the God, that doth wonders, thou hast declared thy power amonge the people.
77:15Thou with thine arme hast delyuered thy people, euen the sonnes of Iacob and Ioseph.
77:16Sela. The waters sawe ye (o God) ye waters sawe ye, & were afrayed: ye depthes were moued.
77:17The thicke cloudes poured out water, ye cloudes thodered, and thy arowes wente abrode.
77:18Thy thonder was herde rounde aboute, the lighteninges shone vpon the grounde, the earth was moued and shoke withall.
77:19Thy waye was in the see, and thy pathes in the greate waters, yet coude no man knowe thy fotesteppes.
77:20Thou leddest thy people like a flocke of shepe, by the honde of Moses and Aaron.
