122:1The `title of the hundrid and two and twentithe salm. `The song of grecis. To thee Y haue reisid myn iyen; that dwellist in heuenes.
122:2Lo! as the iyen of seruauntis; ben in the hondis of her lordis. As the iyen of the handmaide ben in the hondis of her ladi; so oure iyen ben to oure Lord God, til he haue mercy on vs.
122:3Lord, haue thou merci on vs, haue thou merci on vs; for we ben myche fillid with dispisyng.
122:4For oure soule is myche fillid; we ben schenschipe to hem that ben abundaunte with richessis, and dispising to proude men.

122:1A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. I rejoiced, when they sayd to me, We wil go into the house of the Lord.
122:2Our feete shall stand in thy gates, O Ierusalem.
122:3Ierusalem is builded as a citie, that is compact together in it selfe:
122:4Whereunto the Tribes, euen the Tribes of the Lord go vp according to the testimonie to Israel, to prayse the Name of the Lord.
122:5For there are thrones set for iudgement, euen the thrones of the house of Dauid.
122:6Pray for the peace of Ierusalem: let them prosper that loue thee.
122:7Peace be within thy walles, and prosperitie within thy palaces.
122:8For my brethren and neighbours sakes I will wish thee now prosperitie.
122:9Because of the House of the Lord our God, I will procure thy wealth.
