Psalms - Chapter: 124

124:1A songe of the steares of Dauid. If the Lorde hym selfe had not bene of our syde (nowe maye Israel saye) If the Lord him selfe had not bene of our syde when men rose vp agaynst vs.
124:2They had swalowed vs vp quycke, when they were so wrathfully displeased at vs.
124:3Yee, the waters had drowned vs, and the streame had gone ouer oure soule.
124:4The depe waters of the proude had gone euen ouer our soule.
124:5But praysed be the Lorde, whych hath not geuen vs ouer for a praye vnto their teeth.
124:6Our soule is escaped, euen as a byrde out of the snare of the fouler:
124:7the snare is broken, and we are delyuered.
124:8Our helpe standeth in the name of the Lorde, whych hath made heauen and earth.

 

124:1The `title of the hundrid and foure and twentithe salm. `The song of greces. Thei that tristen in the Lord ben as the hil of Syon; he schal not be moued with outen ende,
124:2that dwellith in Jerusalem. Hillis ben in the cumpas of it, and the Lord is in the cumpas of his puple; fro this tyme now and in to the world.
124:3For the Lord schal not leeue the yerde of synneris on the part of iust men; that iust men holde not forth her hondis to wickidnesse.
124:4Lord, do thou wel; to good men, and of riytful herte.
124:5But the Lord schal lede them that bowen in to obligaciouns, with hem that worchen wickidnesse; pees be on Israel.

124:6Oure soule is escaped, euen as a byrde out of the snare of ye fouler:
124:7ye snare is broke, and we are delyuered.
124:8Oure helpe stodeth in the name of the LORDE, which hath made heauen and earth.
