123:1A songe of the steares. Vnto the lyft I vp myne eyes, thou that dwellest in the heauens.
123:2Beholde, euen as the eyes of seruauntes loke vnto the hande of their masters: and as the eyes of a mayden vnto the hande of her mastresse, euen so our eyes wayte vpon the Lorde oure God, vntyll he haue mercy vpon vs.
123:3Haue mercy vpon vs, O Lorde, haue mercy vpon vs, for we are vtterly despysed.
123:4Oure soule is fylled wyth the scornefull reprofe of the welthy, and wyth the despitefulnesse of the proude.

 

123:1The `title of the hundrid and thre and twentithe `salm. The song of grecis `of Dauith. Israel seie now, No but for the Lord was in vs;
123:2no but for `the Lord was in vs. Whanne men risiden vp ayens vs;
123:3in hap thei hadden swalewid vs quike. Whanne the woodnesse of hem was wrooth ayens vs;
123:4in hap watir hadde sope vs vp.

123:4Oure soule is fylled wt the scornefull reprofe of the welthy, & with ye despitefulnesse of the proude.
