Psalms - Chapter: 137

>
137:1By the riuers of Babylon, there wee sate downe, yea we wept: when we remembred Zion.
137:2Wee hanged our harpes vpon the willowes, in the midst thereof.
137:3For there they that carried vs away captiue, required of vs a song, and they that wasted vs, required of vs mirth: saying, Sing vs one of the songs of Zion.
137:4How shall we sing the Lords song: in a strange land?
137:5If I forget thee, O Ierusalem: let my right hand forget her cunning.
137:6If I doe not remember thee, let my tongue cleaue to the roofe of my mouth; if I preferre not Ierusalem aboue my chiefe ioy.
137:7Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom, in the day of Ierusalem; who sayd, rase it, rase it: euen to the foundation thereof.
137:8O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed: happy shall he be that rewardeth thee, as thou hast serued vs.
137:9Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

137:1By the riuers of Babel we sate, and there wee wept, when we remembred Zion.
137:2Wee hanged our harpes vpon the willowes in the middes thereof.
137:3Then they that ledde vs captiues, required of vs songs and mirth, when wee had hanged vp our harpes, saying, Sing vs one of the songs of Zion.
137:4Howe shall we sing, said we, a song of the Lord in a strange land?
137:5If I forget thee, O Ierusalem, let my right hand forget to play.
137:6If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleaue to the roofe of my mouth: yea, if I preferre not Ierusalem to my chiefe ioy.
137:7Remember the children of Edom, O Lord, in the day of Ierusalem, which saide, Rase it, rase it to the foundation thereof.
137:8O daughter of Babel, worthy to be destroyed, blessed shall he be that rewardeth thee, as thou hast serued vs.
137:9Blessed shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy children against the stones.

137:1By the waters of Babilon we sat downe and weapte, when we remembred Syon.
137:2As for oure harpes, we hanged them vp vpon the trees, that are therin.
137:3For they that led vs awaye captyue, requyred of vs then a songe & melody in our heuynes: synge vs one of the songes of Sion.
137:4Howe shall we synge the Lordes songe in a straunge lande.
137:5If I forget the, O Ierusalem, let my ryght hande forget her connynge.
137:6If I do not remembre the, let my tong cleue to the rofe of my mouth: yee, yf I preferre not Ierusalem in my myrth.
137:7Remembre the chyldren of Edom, O Lorde, in the daye of Ierusalem, how they sayde: downe wt it, downe with it: euen to the grounde.
137:8O daughter of Babylon, wasted with miserye: yee, happye shall he be, that rewardeth the, as thou hast serued vs.
137:9Blessed shall he be, that taketh thy chyldren, and throweth them agaynst the stones.
