Proverbs - Chapter: 18

>
18:1Through desire a man hauing separated himselfe, seeketh and intermedleth with all wisedome.
18:2A foole hath no delight in vnderstanding, but that his heart may discouer it selfe.
18:3When the wicked commeth, then commeth also contempt, and with ignominie, reproch.
18:4The words of a mans mouth, are as deepe waters, and the well-spring of wisedome as a flowing brooke.
18:5It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to ouerthrowe the righteous in iudgement.
18:6A fooles lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
18:7A fooles mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soule.
18:8The words of a tale bearer are as wounds, and they goe downe into the innermost parts of the belly.
18:9Hee also that is slouthful in his worke, is brother to him that is a great waster.
18:10The name of the Lord is a a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
18:11The rich mans wealth is his strong citie: and as an high wall in his owne conceit.
18:12Before destruction the heart of man is haughtie, and before honour is humilitie.
18:13He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame vnto him.
18:14The spirit of a man will sustaine his infirmitie: but a wounded spirit who can beare?
18:15The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the eare of the wise seeketh knowledge.
18:16A mans gift maketh roome for him, & bringeth him before great men.
18:17He that is first in his owne cause, seemeth iust; but his neighbour commeth and searcheth him.
18:18The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth betweene the mighty.
18:19A brother offended is harder to be wonne then a strong citie: and their contentions are like the barres of a castle.
18:20A mans belly shall be satisfied with the fruite of his mouth; and with the increase of his lippes shall he be filled.
18:21Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that loue it shall eate the fruite thereof.
18:22Who so findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and obtaineth fauour of the Lord.
18:23The poore vseth intreaties, but the rich answereth roughly.
18:24A man that hath friends must shewe himselfe friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer then a brother.

 

18:1Who so hath an earnest desire to wysdome he will sequester him selfe to seeke it, and occupie him selfe in all stedfastnesse & sounde doctrine
18:2A foole hath no delight in vnderstanding: but onlye to vtter the fansies of his owne heart
18:3When the vngodly commeth, then commeth also disdayne: and with the dishonest person commeth shame and dishonour
18:4The wordes of a wyse mans mouth are lyke deepe waters: and the well of wisdome is like a full streame
18:5It is not good to regarde the person of the vngodly, to ouerthrowe the righteous in iudgement
18:6A fooles lippes come with brawling, and his mouth prouoketh vnto stripes
18:7A fooles mouth is his owne destruction, and his lippes are the snare for his owne soule
18:8The wordes of a slaunderer are very woundes, and go through vnto the innermost partes of the body
18:9Who so is slouthfull in his labour, is the brother of hym that is a waster
18:10The name of the Lorde is a strong castell, the righteous runneth vnto it and is in safegarde
18:11The rich mans goodes are his strong citie, and as an high wall in his owne conceipt
18:12Before destruction the heart of a man is proude: and before honour goeth humilitie
18:13He that geueth sentence in a matter before he heare it, the same to hym is folly and shame
18:14A good stomacke beareth out sickenesse: but the minde beyng sicke, who shall heale it
18:15A wise heart possesseth knowledge, & a prudent eare seeketh vnderstanding
18:16A mans gyft maketh an open way, to bryng hym before great men
18:17The righteous declareth his owne cause first him selfe, and his neighbour commeth and tryeth hym
18:18The lot causeth variaunce to ceasse: and parteth the mightie a sunder
18:19Brethren beyng at variaunce are harder to be wonne then a strong citie, and their contentions are like the barre of a castell
18:20A mans belly shalbe satisfied with the fruite of his owne mouth, and with the encrease of his lippes shall he be filled
18:21Death and life are in the instrument of the tongue, and they that loue it, shall eate the fruite thereof
18:22Who so findeth a wyfe, findeth a good thing, and receaueth fauour of the Lorde
18:23The poore prayeth meekely: but the riche geueth a rough aunswere
18:24A man that wyll haue frendes, must shewe hym selfe frendly: and there is a frende whiche is nearer then a brother

18:9He also that is slouthfull in his worke, is euen the brother of him that is a great waster.
18:10The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth vnto it, and is exalted.
18:11The rich mans riches are his strong citie: and as an hie wall in his imagination.
18:12Before destruction the heart of a man is hautie, and before glory goeth lowlines.
18:13He that answereth a matter before hee heare it, it is folly and shame vnto him.
18:14The spirit of a man will susteine his infirmitie: but a wounded spirit who can beare it?
18:15A wise heart getteth knowledge, and the eare of the wise seeketh learning.
18:16A mans gift enlargeth him, and leadeth him before great men.
18:17He that is first in his owne cause, is iust: then commeth his neighbour, and maketh inquirie of him.
18:18The lot causeth contentions to cease, and maketh a partition among the mightie.
18:19A brother offended is harder to winne then a strong citie, and their contentions are like the barre of a palace.
18:20With the fruite of a mans mouth shall his belly be satisfied, and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
18:21Death and life are in the power of ye tongue, and they that loue it, shall eate the fruite thereof.
18:22He that findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and receiueth fauour of the Lord.
18:23The poore speaketh with prayers: but the rich answereth roughly.
18:24A man that hath friends, ought to shew him selfe friendly: for a friend is neerer then a brother.
