Proverbs - Chapter: 21


21:1	The kynges herte is in the hande of the Lorde, lyke as are the ryuers of water: he maye turne it whithersoeuer he wyll.
21:2	Euery man thynketh hys awne waye to be ryght: but the Lorde iudgeth the hertes.
21:3	To do ryghteousnesse and iudgement is more acceptable to the Lord then sacrifyce.
21:4	A presumpteous loke, a proude stomacke: and the plowynge of the vngodly is synne.
21:5	The deuyces of one that is diligent brynge plenteousnes: but he that is vnaduised commeth vnto pouertye.
21:6	Whoso hoordeth vp rychesse with the dysceatfulnesse of hys tonge, he is vayne and a foole, and lyke vnto them that seke theyr awne deeth.
21:7	The robberyes of the vngodly shalbe theyr awne destruccyon: for they wyll nott do the thynge that is ryght.
21:8	The wayes of the frowarde are straunge: but the worckes of hym that is cleane are ryght.
21:9	It is better to dwell in a corner vnder the house toppe, then with a braulynge woman in a wyde house.
21:10	The soule of the vngodly wysheth euell: and hath no pitye vpon hys neyghboure.
21:11	When the scornefull is punyshed, the ignoraunt take the better heade: and when he seyth the wyse men prospere, he wyll receaue the more vnderstandynge.
21:12	The ryghteous man wysely consydereth the house of the wicked: and for theyr wickednes God ouerthroweth the vngodly.
21:13	Whoso stoppeth hys eares at the cryenge of the poore: he shall crye hym selfe, and not be hearde.
21:14	A preuy rewarde pacyfyeth displeasure, and a gyfte in the bosome, stylleth furiousnesse.
21:15	The iuste delyteth in doynge the thyng that is ryght: but ouer the worckers of wyckednesse hangeth destruccyon.
21:16	The man that wandreth out of the waye of wysdome, shall remayne in the congregacyon of the deed.
21:17	He that hath pleasure in banckettes, shalbe a poore man. Whoso delyteth in wyne and delycates, shall nott be ryche.
21:18	The vngodly shalbe geuen for the ryghtewes: and the wycked for the iust.
21:19	It is better to dwell in a wildernes then with a chydynge & an angrye woman.
21:20	In a wyse mannes house, there is greate treasure and oyle: but a foolysh body spendeth vp all.
21:21	Whoso foloweth ryghteousnesse and mercy, fyndeth bothe lyfe, ryghteousnesse, and honoure.
21:22	A wyse man wynneth the citye of the myghtye: and as for the strength that they trust in, he bryngeth it downe.
21:23	Whoso kepeth his mouth and hys tonge: the same kepeth hys soule from troubles.
21:24	He that is proude and presumptuous, is called a scornefull man, which in wrath darre worcke malicyouslye.
21:25	The volupteousnesse of the slouthfull is hys awne death: for his handes wyll not laboure.
21:26	He coueteth and desyreth all the daye longe: but the ryghteous is allwaye geuynge, and kepeth nothynge backe.
21:27	The sacrifyce of the vngodly is abhominacyon: howe moche more when they offre the thynge that is gotten with wyckednesse?
21:28	A false wytnes shall peryshe: but he that is a true man boldely speaketh that he hathe heard.
21:29	An vngodly man goeth forth rashly: but the iust reformeth hys awne waye.
21:30	There is no wisdome, there is no vnderstandynge, there is no councell agaynst the Lorde.
21:31	The horsse is prepared agaynst the daye of battayll: but the Lorde geueth the victorye.


21:1	As departyngis of watris, so the herte of the kyng is in the power of the Lord; whidur euer he wole, he schal bowe it.
21:2	Ech weye of a man semeth riytful to hym silf; but the Lord peisith the hertis.
21:3	To do merci and doom plesith more the Lord, than sacrifices doen.
21:4	Enhaunsyng of iyen is alargyng of the herte; the lanterne of wickid men is synne.
21:5	The thouytis of a stronge man ben euere in abundaunce; but ech slow man is euere in nedynesse.
21:6	He that gaderith tresours bi the tunge of a leesing, is veyne, and with outen herte; and he schal be hurtlid to the snaris of deth.
21:7	The raueyns of vnpitouse men schulen drawe hem doun; for thei nolden do doom.
21:8	The weiward weie of a man is alien fro God; but the werk of hym that is cleene, is riytful.
21:9	It is betere to sitte in the corner of an hous with oute roof, than with a womman ful of chydyng, and in a comyn hous.
21:10	The soule of an vnpitouse man desirith yuel; he schal not haue merci on his neiybore.
21:11	Whanne a man ful of pestilence is punyschid, a litil man of wit schal be the wisere; and if he sueth a wijs man, he schal take kunnyng.
21:12	A iust man of the hous of a wickid man thenkith, to withdrawe wickid men fro yuel.
21:13	He that stoppith his eere at the cry of a pore man, schal crye also, and schal not be herd.
21:14	A yift hid quenchith chidyngis; and a yift in bosum quenchith the moost indignacioun.
21:15	It is ioye to a iust man to make doom; and it is drede to hem that worchen wickidnesse.
21:16	A man that errith fro the weie of doctryn, schal dwelle in the cumpany of giauntis.
21:17	He that loueth metis, schal be in nedynesse; he that loueth wiyn and fatte thingis, schal not be maad riche.
21:18	An vnpitouse man schal be youun for a iust man; and a wickid man schal be youun for a riytful man.
21:19	It is betere to dwelle in a desert lond, than with a womman ful of chidyng, and wrathful.
21:20	Desirable tresoure and oile is in the dwelling places of a iust man; and an vnprudent man schal distrie it.
21:21	He that sueth riytfulnesse and mercy, schal fynde lijf and glorie.
21:22	A wijs man stiede `in to the citee of stronge men, and distriede the strengthe of trist therof.
21:23	He that kepith his mouth and his tunge, kepith his soule from angwischis.
21:24	A proude man and boosteere is clepid a fool, that worchith pride in ire.
21:25	Desiris sleen a slow man; for hise hondis nolden worche ony thing.
21:26	Al dai he coueitith and desirith; but he that is a iust man, schal yyue, and schal not ceesse.
21:27	The offringis of wickid men, that ben offrid of greet trespas, ben abhomynable.
21:28	A fals witnesse schal perische; a man obedient schal speke victorie.
21:29	A wickid man makith sad his cheer vnschamefastli; but he that is riytful, amendith his weie.
21:30	No wisdom is, no prudence is, no counsel is ayens the Lord.
21:31	An hors is maad redi to the dai of batel; but the Lord schal yyue helthe.

21:26	He coueteth and desyreth all the daye longe, but the rightuous is allwaye geuynge & kepeth nothinge backe.
21:27	The sacrifice of the vngodly is abhominacion, for they offre the thinge yt is gotten wt wickednes.
21:28	A false wytnesse shal perishe, but he yt wilbe content to heare, shal allwaye haue power to speake himself.
21:29	An vngodly man goeth forth rashly, but the iust refourmeth his owne waye.
21:30	There is no wy?dome, there is no vnderstondinge, there is no councell agaynst the LORDE.
21:31	The horse is prepared agaynst ye daye of battayll, but the LORDE geueth the victory.
