Exodus - Chapter: 40

>
40:1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
40:2On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.
40:3And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.
40:4And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.
40:5And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.
40:6And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.
40:7And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein.
40:8And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.
40:9And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.
40:10And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.
40:11And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.
40:12And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.
40:13And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
40:14And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:
40:15And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
40:16Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.
40:17And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
40:18And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.
40:19And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses.
40:20And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:
40:21And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.
40:22And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.
40:23And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.
40:24And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.
40:25And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
40:26And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail:
40:27And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses.
40:28And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.
40:29And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.
40:30And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal.
40:31And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:
40:32When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses.
40:33And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
40:34Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
40:35And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
40:36And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:
40:37But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
40:38For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

40:1Then the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
40:2In the first day of the first moneth in the very first of the same moneth shalt thou set vp the Tabernacle, called ye Tabernacle of the Congregation:
40:3And thou shalt put therein the Arke of the Testimonie, and couer the Arke with the vaile.
40:4Also thou shalt bring in the Table, and set it in order as it doth require: thou shalt also bring in the Candlesticke, and light his lampes,
40:5And thou shalt set ye incense Altar of gold before the Arke of the Testimonie, and put the hanging at the doore of the Tabernacle.
40:6Moreouer, thou shalt set the burnt offering Altar before the doore of the Tabernacle, called the Tabernacle of the Congregation.
40:7And thou shalt set the Lauer betweene the Tabernacle of the Congregation and the Altar, and put water therein.
40:8Then thou shalt appoynt the courte round about, and hang vp the hanging at the courte gate.
40:9After, thou shalt take the anoynting oyle, and anoynt the Tabernacle, and all that is therein, and halowe it with all the instruments thereof, that it may be holy.
40:10And thou shalt anoynt the Altar of the burnt offring, and all his instruments, and shalt sanctifie the Altar, that it may bee an altar most holie.
40:11Also thou shalt anoynt the Lauer, and his foote, and shalt sanctifie it.
40:12Then thou shalt bring Aaron and his sonnes vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and wash them with water.
40:13And thou shalt put vpon Aaron the holy garmentes, and shalt anoynt him, and sanctifie him, that he may minister vnto me in the Priestes office.
40:14Thou shalt also bring his sonnes, and clothe them with garments,
40:15And shalt anoynt them as thou diddest anoynt their father, that they may minister vnto mee in the Priestes office: for their anoynting shall be a signe, that the Priesthood shall be euerlasting vnto them throughout their generations.
40:16So Moses did according to all that ye Lord had commanded him: so did he.
40:17Thus was the Tabernacle reared vp the first day of the first moneth in the seconde yeere.
40:18Then Moses reared vp the Tabernacle and fastened his sockets, and set vp the boardes thereof, and put in the barres of it, and reared vp his pillars.
40:19And he spred the couering ouer the Tabernacle, and put the couering of that couering on hie aboue it, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:20And he tooke and put the Testimonie in the Arke, and put the barres in the ringes of the Arke, and set the Merciseate on hie vpon the Arke.
40:21He brought also the Arke into the Tabernacle, and hanged vp the couering vaile, and couered the Arke of the Testimonie, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:22Furthermore he put the Table in the Tabernacle of the Congregation in the Northside of the Tabernacle, without the vaile,
40:23And set the bread in order before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:24Also he put the Candlesticke in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, ouer against the Table toward ye Southside of the Tabernacle.
40:25And he lighted the lampes before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:26Moreouer he set the golden Altar in the Tabernacle of the Congregation before the vayle,
40:27And burnt sweete incense thereon, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:28Also he hanged vp the vayle at the doore of the Tabernacle.
40:29After, he set the burnt offring Altar without the doore of the Tabernacle, called the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and offered the burnt offering and the sacrifice thereon, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:30Likewise he set the Lauer betweene the Tabernacle of the Congregation and the Altar, and powred water therein to wash with.
40:31So Moses and Aaron, and his sonnes washed their handes and their feete thereat.
40:32When they went into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and when they approched to the Altar, they washed, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
40:33Finally, he reared vp the court rounde about the Tabernacle and the Altar, and hanged vp the vaile at the court gate: so Moses finished the worke.
40:34Then the cloud couered the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the glorie of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.
40:35So Moses could not enter into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, because the cloude abode thereon, and the glorie of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.
40:36Nowe when the cloude ascended vp from the Tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward in all their iourneyes.
40:37But if the cloude ascended not, then they iourneyed not till the day that it ascended.
40:38For the cloude of the Lord was vpon the Tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their iourneyes.
