Isaiah - Chapter: 2

>
2:1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2:2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
2:3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
2:4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
2:5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
2:6Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
2:7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
2:8Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
2:9And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.
2:10Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
2:11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
2:12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
2:13And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
2:14And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
2:15And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
2:16And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
2:17And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
2:18And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
2:19And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
2:20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
2:21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
2:22Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

2:1The worde that Isaiah the sonne of Amoz sawe vpon Iudah and Ierusalem.
2:2It shall be in the last dayes, that the mountaine of the house of the Lord shalbe prepared in the top of the mountaines, and shall be exalted aboue the hilles, and all nations shall flowe vnto it.
2:3And many people shall go, and say, Come, and let vs go vp to the mountaine of the Lord, to the house of the God of Iaakob, and hee will teach vs his wayes, and we will walke in his paths: for the Lawe shall go foorth of Zion, and the worde of the Lord from Ierusalem,
2:4And he shall iudge among the nations, and rebuke many people: they shall breake their swords also into mattocks, and their speares into siethes: nation shall not lift vp a sworde against nation, neither shall they learne to fight any more.
2:5O house of Iaakob, come ye, and let vs walke in the Lawe of the Lord.
2:6Surely thou hast forsaken thy people, the house of Iaakob, because they are full of the East maners, and are sorcerers as the Philistims, and abound with strange children.
2:7Their land also was full of siluer and golde, and there was none ende of their treasures: and their land was full of horses, and their charets were infinite.
2:8Their land also was full of idols: they worshipped the worke of their owne hands, which their owne fingers haue made.
2:9And a man bowed himselfe, and a man humbled himselfe: therefore spare them not.
2:10Enter into the rocke, and hide thee in the dust from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie.
2:11The hie looke of man shall be humbled, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord onely shall be exalted in that day.
2:12For the day of the Lord of hostes is vpon all the proude and hautie, and vpon all that is exalted: and it shalbe made lowe.
2:13Euen vpon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are hie and exalted, and vpon all the okes of Bashan,
2:14And vpon all the hie mountaines, and vpon all the hilles that are lifted vp,
2:15And vpon euery hie tower, and vpon euery strong wall,
2:16And vpon all the shippes of Tarshish, and vpon all pleasant pictures.
2:17And the hautinesse of men shalbe brought low, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord shall onely be exalted in that day.
2:18And the idoles will he vtterly destroy.
2:19Then they shall goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the caues of the earth, from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall arise to destroy the earth.
2:20At that day shall man cast away his siluer idoles, and his golden idoles (which they had made themselues to worship them) to the mowles and to the backes,
2:21To goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the toppes of the ragged rockes from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall rise to destroy the earth.
2:22Cease you from the man whose breath is in his nostrels: for wherein is he to be esteemed?

2:1Thys is the worde that was opened vnto Esay the sonne of Amos, vpon Iuda & Ierusalem.
2:2It wilbe also in the last dayes that the hyll where the house of the Lorde is builded, shall be the chefe amonge hylles, and exalted aboue all lytle hylles. And all nacyons shall preace vnto hym, and the multytude of people shal go
2:3speaking thus one to another: vp, let vs go to the hyll of the Lord, & to the house of the God of Iacob: that he maye shewe vs his waye, and that we maye walcke in his pathes. For the lawe shall come out of Sion, and the word of the Lorde from Ierusalem,
2:4and shall geue sentence amonge the Heathen, and shall reforme the multitude of people: They shall breake theyr swerdes also in to mattockes, and theyr speares to make sythes. And one people shall not lyft vp weapen against another, nether shal they learne to fyght from thens forth.
2:5Come ye (O house of Iacob) let vs walcke in the lyght of the Lorde.
2:6But thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Iacob, because they go farre beyonde the east contreys in Sorceryes (whom they haue as the Philistines had) and in straunge chyldren they thinke them selues to haue ynough.
2:7Theyr land is full of siluer and gold, nether is there any ende of theyr treasure: Theyr land is also full of horses, & no ende is there of theyr charets.
2:8Theyr lande is also full of vayne goddes, and before the worcke of theyr awne handes haue they bowed them selues, yee, euen before the thinge that theyr awne fyngers haue made.
2:9There kneleth the man, there falleth the man downe before them, but thou (o Lorde) wilt not leaue them vnpunished.
2:10And therfore get the in to some rock, and hyde the in the grounde for feare of the Lord, and for the glory of his magestye:
2:11Which casteth downe the high lookes of presumptuous personnes, and bringeth lowe the pryde of man, and the Lorde only shall be exalted in that daye.
2:12For the daye of the Lord of Hostes shall go ouer al pride and presumption, vpon all them that exalte them selues, and shall brynge them all downe:
2:13vpon all the hygh and stoute Cedre trees of Libanus, & vpon all the okes of Basan,
2:14vpon all hygh hylles, and vpon all stoute mountaynes,
2:15vpon all costly towres, & vpon all stronge walles,
2:16vpon all shyppes of Tharsis, and vpon euery thyng that is glorious and pleasaunt to loke vpon.
2:17And it shall brynge downe the pryde of man, and laye mans presumptuousnesse full lowe, and the Lorde shall only haue the vyctory in that daye.
2:18But the Idols shall vtterly be roted out.
2:19Men shall crepe in to holes of stone, and into caues of the earth, for feare of the Lorde, and for the glory of hys magesty: what tyme as he shall aryse vp to condemne the earth.
2:20Then shall man cast awaye hys goddes of syluer, and hys goddes of gold (which he neuertheles had made to honour them) vnto Molles & Backes:
2:21And they shall crepe in to the caues and rockes, & into the clyftes of hard stones, for feare of God, and for the glory of hys magestye, whan he ryseth to condemne the earth.
2:22Feare not ye then any man, whose breth is in hys nostrels. For what is he of reputacion?
