| 3:1 | For behold, the Lord, the Lord of hostes doeth take away from Ierusalem, and from Iudah, the stay and the staffe, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water, |
| 3:2 | The mighty man, and the man of warre; the Iudge and the Prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, |
| 3:3 | The captaine of fiftie, and the honourable man, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent oratour. |
| 3:4 | And I will giue children to bee their Princes, and babes shall rule ouer them. |
| 3:5 | And the people shall be oppressed, euery one by another, and euery one by his neighbour: the childe shall behaue himselfe proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable. |
| 3:6 | When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruine bee vnder thy hand: |
| 3:7 | In that day shall he sweare, saying, I will not be an healer: for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people. |
| 3:8 | For Ierusalem is ruined, & Iudah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glorie. |
| 3:9 | The shew of their countenance doeth witnesse against them, and they declare their sinne as Sodom, they hide it not: woe vnto their soule, for they haue rewarded euill vnto themselues. |
| 3:10 | Say yee to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eate the fruit of their doings. |
| 3:11 | Woe vnto the wicked, it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him. |
| 3:12 | As for my people, children are their oppressours, and women rule ouer them: O my people, they which lead thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths. |
| 3:13 | The Lord standeth vp to plead, and standeth to iudge the people. |
| 3:14 | The Lord will enter into iudgement with the ancients of his people, and the Princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the Uineyard; the spoile of the poore is in your houses. |
| 3:15 | What meane yee that yee beat my people to pieces, and grinde the faces of the poore, saith the Lord God of hosts? |
| 3:16 | Moreouer the Lord saith; Because the daughters of Zion are hautie, and walke with stretched forth necks, and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they goe, and making a tinkeling with their feet: |
| 3:17 | Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crowne of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discouer their secret parts. |
| 3:18 | In that day the Lord will take away the brauery of their tinckling ornaments about their feete, and their caules, and their round tyres like the Moone. |
| 3:19 | The chaines, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, |
| 3:20 | The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legges, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earerings, |
| 3:21 | The rings, and nose-iewels, |
| 3:22 | The changeable sutes of apparell, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes, |
| 3:23 | The glasses, and the fine linnen, and the hoods, and the vailes. |
| 3:24 | And it shall come to passe, that in steade of sweete smell, there shall bee stinke; and in stead of a girdle, a rent; and in stead of well set haire, baldnesse; and in stead of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth; and burning, in stead of beautie. |
| 3:25 | Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mightie in the warre. |
| 3:26 | And her gates shall lament and mourne; and she being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground. |

| 3:4 | And I shall geue children to be their princes, and babes shall rule ouer them |
| 3:5 | And the people shall eche one of them violently oppresse another, and euery one agaynst his neyghbour: The boy shall presume agaynst the elder, and the person of lowe degree agaynst the honorable |
| 3:6 | Yea one shall take a friende of his owne kinrede by the bosome, and say: thou hast clothyng, thou shalt be our head, and stay this ruine with thy hande |
| 3:7 | Then shall he sweare and say, I can not helpe you: there is neither meate nor clothyng in my house, make me no ruler of the people |
| 3:8 | For Hierusalem and Iuda must decay: because that both their wordes and counsayles are agaynst the Lorde to prouoke the presence of his maiestie to anger |
| 3:9 | Their very countenaunce bewrayeth the, yea they declare their owne sinnes themselues as Sodome, they hide it not: Wo be to their owne soules, for they haue rewarded euyll vnto them selues |
| 3:10 | Say to the ryghteous that it shall go well with them: for they shall eate the fruite of their owne studies |
| 3:11 | But wo be vnto the wicked, for it shalbe euyll with hym: for he shalbe rewarded after his owne workes |
| 3:12 | Children are extortioners of my people, and women rule ouer them: O my people, thy leaders deceaue thee, and corrupt the way of thy footsteppes |
| 3:13 | The Lorde is here to commune of the matter, & standeth to iudge the people |
| 3:14 | The Lorde shall enter into iudgement with the elders and princes of his people, and shall say to them: It is ye that haue burnt vp my vineyarde, the spoyle of the poore is in your houses |
| 3:15 | What meane ye that ye bray as in a morter my people, and grinde the faces of the poore? saith the Lorde God of hoastes |
| 3:16 | Moreouer the Lord hath said, seing the daughters of Sion are waxen proude, & walke with stretched foorth neckes, and wanton lokes, goyng and trippyng nicely, and tinckelyng with their feete |
| 3:17 | Therfore shall the Lorde shaue the heades of the daughters of Sion, and shall discouer their filthinesse |
| 3:18 | In that day shall the Lord take away the gorgiousnesse of the attire about their feete, & the caules, and the rounde tires [after the fashion of the moone. |
| 3:19 | The sweete perfumes, and the bracelettes, and the mufflers |
| 3:20 | The bonnettes, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablettes, and the earynges |
| 3:21 | And rynges, and nose iewels |
| 3:22 | The costly apparell, and the vayles, and the wimples, & the crispyng pinnes |
| 3:23 | And the glasses, and the fine linnen, and the hoodes, and the lawnes |
| 3:24 | And in steade of good smell there shalbe stincke, and in steade of their girdle a rent, and for well set heere there shalbe baldnesse, in steade of a stomacher a sacke cloth, & sunne burnyng for beautie |
| 3:25 | Thy men shal perishe with the sword, and thy valiaunt souldiours in the battayle [O Hierusalem. |
| 3:26 | And her gates shall mourne and bewayle: and she deyng desolate, shall syt vpon the grounde |

| 3:8 | Doubtlesse Ierusalem is fallen, and Iudah is fallen downe, because their tongue and workes are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glory. |
| 3:9 | The triall of their countenance testifieth against them, yea, they declare their sinnes as Sodom, they hide them not. Wo be vnto their soules: for they haue rewarded euil vnto themselues. |
| 3:10 | Say ye, Surely it shalbe well with the iust: for they shall eate the fruite of their workes. |
| 3:11 | Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him. |

| 3:18 | In that day shall the Lord take away the ornament of the slippers, and the calles, and the round tyres, |
| 3:19 | The sweete balles, and the brasselets, and the bonnets, |
| 3:20 | The tyres of the head, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablets, and the earings, |
| 3:21 | The rings and the mufflers, |
| 3:22 | The costly apparell and the vailes, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes, |
| 3:23 | And the glasses and the fine linen, and the hoodes, and the launes. |
| 3:24 | And in steade of sweete sauour, there shall be stinke, and in steade of a girdle, a rent, and in steade of dressing of the heare, baldnesse, and in steade of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth, and burning in steade of beautie. |
| 3:25 | Thy men shall fall by the sworde, and thy strength in the battell. |
| 3:26 | Then shall her gates mourne and lament, and she, being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground. |
