Isaiah - Chapter: 2


2:1	The word that Isaiah, the sonne of Amoz, sawe concerning Iudah and Ierusalem.
2:2	And it shall come to passe in the last dayes, that the mountaine of the Lords house shall be established in the top of the mountaines, and shall be exalted aboue the hilles; and all nations shall flow vnto it.
2:3	And many people shall goe & say; Come yee and let vs go vp to the mountaine of the Lord, to the house of the God of Iacob, and he will teach vs of his wayes, and we will walke in his pathes: for out of Zion shall goe forth the lawe, and the word of the Lord from Ierusalem.
2:4	And hee shall iudge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beate their swords into plow-shares, and their speares into pruning hookes: nation shall not lift vp sword against nation, neither shall they learne warre any more.
2:5	O house of Iacob, come yee, and let vs walke in the light of the Lord.
2:6	Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Iacob; because they be replenished from the East, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselues in the children of strangers.
2:7	Their land also is full of siluer and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures: their land is also full of horses; neither is there any end of their charets.
2:8	Their land also is full of idoles: they worship the worke of their owne hands, that which their owne fingers haue made.
2:9	And the meane man boweth downe, and the great man humbleth himselfe; therefore forgiue them not.
2:10	Enter into the rocke, and hide thee in the dust, for feare of the Lord, and for the glory of his Maiestie.
2:11	The loftie lookes of man shalbe humbled, and the hautines of men shalbe bowed downe: and the Lord alone shalbe exalted in that day.
2:12	For the day of the Lord of hostes shall bee vpon euery one that is proud and loftie, and vpon euery one that is lifted vp, and he shalbe brought low;
2:13	And vpon all the Cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted vp; and vpon all the okes of Bashan,
2:14	And vpon all the high mountaines, and vpon all the hilles that are lifted vp,
2:15	And vpon euery high tower, and vpon euery fenced wall,
2:16	And vpon all the ships of Tarshish, and vpon all pleasant pictures.
2:17	And the loftinesse of man shall be bowed downe, and the hautinesse of men shalbe made low: and the Lord alone shalbe exalted in that day.
2:18	And the idoles hee shall vtterly abolish.
2:19	And they shall goe into the holes of the rocks, and into the caues of the earth for feare of the Lord, and for the glory of his Maiestie; when hee ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
2:20	In that day a man shall cast his idoles of siluer, and his idoles of golde which they made each one for himselfe to worship, to the moules and to the battes:
2:21	To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rockes, for feare of the Lord, and for the glorie of his Maiestie; when hee ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
2:22	Cease ye from man whose breath is in his nostrels: for wherein is hee to be accounted of?


2:1	The selfe same worde that Esai the sonne of Amos sawe vpon Iuda and Hierusalem
2:2	And this shall come to passe in the latter dayes: the hyll of the Lordes house shalbe prepared in the heyght of the mountaynes, and shalbe hygher then the hylles, and all nations shall preasse vnto hym
2:3	And a multitude of people shall go, speakyng thus one to another come, let vs ascende to the hyll of the Lorde, to the house of the God of Iacob, and he wyll instruct vs of his wayes, and we wyll walke in his pathes: for out of Sion shall come a lawe, and the worde of the Lorde from Hierusalem
2:4	And shall geue sentence among the heathen, and shall refourme the multitude of people: they shall breake their swordes also into mattockes, and their speares to make sithes: And one people shall not lyft vp a weapon agaynst another, neither shall they learne to fyght from thencefoorth
2:5	Come ye O house of Iacob, and let vs walke in the lyght of the Lorde
2:6	For thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Iacob, because they be replenished with euils from the east, and with sorcerers lyke the Philistines, and in straunge children they thynke them selues to haue enough
2:7	Their lande is full of siluer and golde, neither is there any ende of their treasure: their lande is also full of horses, and no ende is there of their charrettes
2:8	Their lande also is full of vayne gods, and before the worke of their owne handes they haue bowed them selues, yea euen before the thyng that their owne fingers haue made
2:9	There kneeleth the man, there falleth the man downe before them: therfore forgeue them not
2:10	Get thee into the rocke, and hyde thee in the grounde for feare of the Lorde, and for the glorie of his maiestie
2:11	The high lookes of man shalbe brought lowe, and the hautinesse of men shalbe bowed downe: and the Lorde alone shalbe exalted in that day
2:12	For the day of the Lorde of hoastes shalbe vpon all the proude, loftie, and vpon all that is exalted, and he shalbe brought lowe
2:13	And vpon all high and stout Cedar trees of Libanus, and vpon all the okes of Basan
2:14	And vpon all the high mountaynes, and vpon all the high hilles
2:15	And vpon euery high towre, and vpon euery fenced wall
2:16	And vpon all the shippes of Tharsis, and vpon all pictures of pleasure
2:17	And the pride of man shalbe brought downe, and the loftinesse of men shalbe made lowe, and the Lorde alone shalbe exalted in that day
2:18	As for the idols he shall vtterly abolishe
2:19	And they shall creepe into holes of stone, and into caues of the earth for feare of the Lorde, and for the glorie of his maiestie, when he ariseth to destroy the wicked ones of the earth
2:20	In the selfe same day shall man cast away his gods of siluer, and his gods of golde, into the holes of Mowles and Backes, which he neuerthelesse had made to hym selfe to honour them
2:21	And they shall creepe into the cliftes of the rockes, and into the toppes of the harde stones for feare of the Lorde, and for the glorie of his maiestie, when he ariseth to destroy the wicked ones of the earth
2:22	Ceasse therfore from man in whose nosethrilles there is breath: for wherin is he to be accompted of

2:4	And he shall iudge among the nations, and rebuke many people: they shall breake their swords also into mattocks, and their speares into siethes: nation shall not lift vp a sworde against nation, neither shall they learne to fight any more.
2:5	O house of Iaakob, come ye, and let vs walke in the Lawe of the Lord.
2:6	Surely thou hast forsaken thy people, the house of Iaakob, because they are full of the East maners, and are sorcerers as the Philistims, and abound with strange children.
2:7	Their land also was full of siluer and golde, and there was none ende of their treasures: and their land was full of horses, and their charets were infinite.
2:8	Their land also was full of idols: they worshipped the worke of their owne hands, which their owne fingers haue made.
2:9	And a man bowed himselfe, and a man humbled himselfe: therefore spare them not.
2:10	Enter into the rocke, and hide thee in the dust from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie.
2:11	The hie looke of man shall be humbled, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord onely shall be exalted in that day.
2:12	For the day of the Lord of hostes is vpon all the proude and hautie, and vpon all that is exalted: and it shalbe made lowe.
2:13	Euen vpon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are hie and exalted, and vpon all the okes of Bashan,
2:14	And vpon all the hie mountaines, and vpon all the hilles that are lifted vp,
2:15	And vpon euery hie tower, and vpon euery strong wall,
2:16	And vpon all the shippes of Tarshish, and vpon all pleasant pictures.
2:17	And the hautinesse of men shalbe brought low, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord shall onely be exalted in that day.
2:18	And the idoles will he vtterly destroy.
2:19	Then they shall goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the caues of the earth, from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall arise to destroy the earth.
2:20	At that day shall man cast away his siluer idoles, and his golden idoles (which they had made themselues to worship them) to the mowles and to the backes,
2:21	To goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the toppes of the ragged rockes from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall rise to destroy the earth.
2:22	Cease you from the man whose breath is in his nostrels: for wherein is he to be esteemed?
