Isaiah - Chapter: 19

>
19:1The burden of Egypt: Behold, the Lord rideth vpon a swift cloude, and shall come into Egypt, and the idoles of Egypt shalbe moued at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
19:2And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight euery one against his brother, and euery one against his neighbour; citie against citie, and kingdome against kingdome.
19:3And the spirit of Egypt shall faile in the midst thereof, and I will destroy the counsell thereof: and they shall seeke to the idoles, and to the charmers, and to them that haue familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
19:4And the Egyptians will I giue ouer into the hand of a cruell Lord; and a fierce king shall rule ouer them, saith the Lorde, the Lord of hostes.
19:5And the waters shall faile from the sea, and the riuer shalbe wasted, and dried vp.
19:6And they shall turne the riuers farre away, and the brookes of defence shall be emptied and dried vp: the reeds and flagges shall wither.
19:7The paper reeds by the brookes, by the mouth of the brookes, and euery thing sowen by the brooks shal wither, be driuen away, and be no more.
19:8The fishers also shall mourne, and all they that cast angle into the brookes shall lament, and they that spread nets vpon the waters shall languish.
19:9Moreouer they that worke in fine flaxe, and they that weaue net-works shall be confounded.
19:10And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluces and ponds for fish.
19:11Surely the princes of Zoan are fooles, the counsell of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: How say ye vnto Pharaoh, I am the sonne of the wise, the sonne of ancient kings?
19:12Where are they? Where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know, what the Lord of hosts hath purposed vpon Egypt.
19:13The princes of Zoan are become fooles, the princes of Noph are deceiued, they haue also seduced Egypt, euen they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
19:14The Lord hath mingled a peruerse spirit in the midst thereof: and they haue caused Egypt to erre in euery worke thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
19:15Neither shall there be any worke for Egypt, which the head or taile, branch or rush may doe.
19:16In that day shall Egypt bee like vnto women: and it shall be afraid and feare, because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh ouer it.
19:17And the land of Iudah shall bee a terrour vnto Egypt, euery one that maketh mention thereof, shal be afraid in himselfe, because of the counsell of the Lord of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
19:18In that day shall fiue cities in the land of Egypt speake the language of Canaan, and sweare to the Lord of hostes: one shalbe called the citie of destruction.
19:19In that day shall there be an Altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.
19:20And it shall be for a signe, and for a witnesse vnto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall crie vnto the Lord, because of the oppressours, and he shal send them a Sauiour and a great One, and he shall deliuer them.
19:21And the Lord shalbe knowen to Egypt, and the Egyptians shal know the Lord in that day, and shal do sacrifice and oblation, yea they shall vow a vowe vnto the Lord, and performe it.
19:22And the Lord shall smite Egypt, he shall smite and heale it, and they shall returne euen to the Lord, and he shalbe intreated of them, and shall heale them.
19:23In that day shall there be a hie way out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serue with the Assyrians.
19:24In that day shall Israel bee the third with Egypt, and with Assyria, euen a blessing in the midst of the land:
19:25Whom the Lord of hosts shal blesse, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

19:1The burden of Egypt. Beholde, the Lord rideth vpon a swift cloude, and shall come into Egypt, and the idoles of Egypt shall be moued at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the middes of her.
19:2And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: so euery one shall fight against his brother, and euery one against his neighbour, citie against citie, and kingdome against kingdome.
19:3And the spirite of Egypt shall faile in the middes of her, and I will destroy their counsell, and they shall seeke at the idoles, and at the sorcerers, and at them that haue spirits of diuination, and at the southsayers.
19:4And I will deliuer the Egyptians into the hand of the cruell Lordes, and a mightie King shall rule ouer them, sayth the Lord God of hostes.
19:5Then the waters of the sea shall faile, and the riuers shall be dryed vp, and wasted.
19:6And the riuers shall goe farre away: the riuers of defence shalbe emptied and dryed vp: the reedes and flagges shall be cut downe.
19:7The grasse in the riuer, and at the head of the riuers, and all that groweth by the riuer, shall wither, and be driuen away, and be no more.
19:8The fishers also shall mourne, and all they that cast angle into the riuer, shall lament, and they that spread their nette vpon the waters, shall be weakened.
19:9Moreouer, they that worke in flaxe of diuers sortes, shall be confounded, and they that weaue nettes.
19:10For their nettes shalbe broken, and all they, that make pondes, shalbe heauie in heart.
19:11Surely the princes of Zoan are fooles: the counsell of the wise counselers of Pharaoh is become foolish: how say ye vnto Pharaoh, I am the sonne of the wise? I am the sonne of the ancient Kings?
19:12Where are nowe thy wise men, that they may tell thee, or may knowe what the Lord of hostes hath determined against Egypt?
19:13The princes of Zoan are become fooles: the princes of Noph are deceiued, they haue deceiued Egypt, euen the corners of the tribes thereof.
19:14The Lord hath mingled among them the spirite of errours: and they haue caused Egypt to erre in euery worke thereof, as a drunken man erreth in his vomite.
19:15Neither shall there be any worke in Egypt, which the head may doe, nor the tayle, ye branch nor the rush.
19:16In that day shall Egypt be like vnto women: for it shall be afraide and feare because of the moouing of the hand of the Lord of hostes, which he shaketh ouer it.
19:17And the land of Iudah shall be a feare vnto Egypt: euery one that maketh mention of it, shalbe afraid thereat, because of ye counsell of the Lord of hostes, which he hath determined vpon it.
19:18In that day shall fiue cities in the lande of Egypt speake the language of Canaan, and shall sweare by the Lord of hostes. one shall be called the citie of destruction.
19:19In that day shall the altar of the Lord be in the middes of the land of Egypt, and a pillar by the border thereof vnto the Lord.
19:20And it shall be for a signe and for a witnes vnto the Lord of hostes in the land of Egypt: for they shall crie vnto the Lord, because of the oppressers, and he shall send them a Sauiour and a great man, and shall deliuer them.
19:21And the Lord shall be knowen of the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall knowe the Lord in that day, and doe sacrifice and oblation, and shall vowe vowes vnto the Lord, and performe them.
19:22So ye Lord shall smite Egypt, he shall smite and heale it: for he shall returne vnto ye Lord, and he shall be intreated of them and shall heale them.
19:23In that day shall there be a path from Egypt to Asshur, and Asshur shall come into Egypt, and Egypt into Asshur: so the Egyptians shall worship with Asshur.
19:24In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and Asshur, euen a blessing in the middes of the land.
19:25For the Lord of hostes shall blesse it, saying, Blessed be my people Egypt and Asshur, the worke of mine hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

19:1The heuye burthen of Egypte: Beholde, the Lorde rydeth vpon a swyfte clowde, and shall come into Egypte, & the ydols of Egypte shall tremble at the presence of hym, & the hert of Egypte shall quake in the myddes of her.
19:2And I wyll set the Egypcians one agaynst another, so that one brother shall fyght agaynst another, & one neyghboure agaynst another, citye agaynst citye, & realme agaynst realme.
19:3The mynde also of Egipte shalbe cleane without councell within it selfe, & the deuyce that they take, wyll I destroye, so that they shall seke councell at ydols & at sorcerers, at workers with spretes & at sothsayers.
19:4And the Egypcians will I geue ouer into the hande of a maruelous cruell Lorde, & a myghtie kynge shall haue dominion ouer them, sayeth the Lord God of hostes.
19:5The waters of the see shal fayle, & the ryuer shall decreace and be dryed vp.
19:6The waters shalbe drawen out: the ryuers of Egypte shalbe emptyed & dryed vp, the redes and flagges shalbe cut downe.
19:7The grasse in the ryuer & by the ryuers banck, & all that groweth by the ryuer shal wither awaye, and be brought to naught.
19:8The fysshers also shal mourne and all they that cast angle into the water, shal make lamentacion, and they that laye forth theyr nett besyde the waters, shalbe roted out.
19:9Morouer, they that worke in flaxe, and make fyne workes, shall be confounded, and so shall they that weaue open workes.
19:10For theyr open workes shalbe euen destroyed, and all they that make pondes and stewes for fish shall come to naught.
19:11But ye foolish prynces of Zoan, ye wyse councelours of Pharao, whose wit is turned to foolyshnes, how saye ye vnto Pharao: I am come of wyse men & of auncient kynges?
19:12Wher ar they? where are (I saye) thy wyse men? Let them tell the (yf they can) what the lord of hoostes hath deuysed vpon Egypte.
19:13The prynces of zoan are become fooles, the prynces of Noph are disceaued, they haue disceaued Egypte, euen they that were taken for the chefe kynred therof.
19:14In the myddes of it hath the lord powred the sprete of wyckednes, and they haue disceaued Egypt in euery worke therof, euen as a droncken man stackereth in his vomyte.
19:15Nether shall the heade or tayle, the braunch or rede be able to do anye worke in Egipte.
19:16In that daye shall Egypte be lyke vnto women: It shalbe afrayed and stonde in feare at the mocyon of the hand of the Lorde of hostes, which he shaketh ouer it.
19:17And Egipt shalbe afrayed of the land of Iuda: so that euery one which maketh mencyon of it, shalbe afrayed therat, because of the councell of the Lord of hoostes which he deuyseth for it.
19:18In that daye shall fyue cities in the land of Egypte speake the language of Canaan, & swere by the Lord of hoostes: the citye of desolacion shalbe called one of them.
19:19In that daye shall the altare of the Lord be in the myddes of the land of Egypt, & thys tytle besyde it: VNTO THE LORDE.
19:20And it shalbe a token and witnesse vnto the Lord of hoostes in the lande of Egypte. For they shall crye vnto the Lorde because of such as trouble them, & he shall send them a Sauiour & a great man to delyuer them.
19:21And the Lord shalbe knowne in Egipte, and the Egypcians shall knowe the Lord in that daye, and do sacrifice and oblation: yee they shall vowe a vowe vnto the Lord, and perfourme it.
19:22The lord also that smyte Egypte sore, & heale them agayne, & they shalbe conuerted vnto the Lord, and he shalbe intreated of them, & shall heale them.
19:23In that daye shall there be a comen waye out of Egypte into Assyria, and Assyria shall come into Egypte, & Egypte in to Assyria, so that the Egypcians and the Assyrians shall serue the Lorde together.
19:24In that daye shal the nacion of Israel be the thyrde wyth Egypte & Assyria,
19:25and they shalbe blessed in the myddes of the lande, which lande the Lord of hoostes hath blessed, sayeng: blessed is my people of Egypte, Assur also is the worke of myne handes, and Israel is myne inheritaunce.
