Isaiah - Chapter: 26

>
26:1In that daye shall thys songe be songe in the lande of Iuda. We haue a stronge citye. Saluacion shall God appoynte in steade of walles and bulworke.
26:2Open ye the gates that the righteous people which kepeth the trueth maye entre in.
26:3Their minde is set vpon the, because thou preseruest them in peace yee, euen in peace: because they put their trust in the.
26:4Put ye your trust allwaye in the Lorde: for in the Lorde God there is strength for euermore.
26:5For he hath brought downe hye mynded citesens. As for the proude citye, he hath brought it lowe: euen vnto the grounde shall he cast it downe, & bring it vnto dust.
26:6The fote euen the fote of the poore: and the steppes of such as be in necessitie shall treade it downe.
26:7The path of equitye wilt thou graunt vnto the iuste, o thou moost ryghteous, thou shalt order the path of him that is ryghteous.
26:8Yee, in the waye of thy iudgmentes, O Lord, haue we put our trust in the. Thy name also: & the remembraunce of the, is the thyng that oure soule longeth for.
26:9My soule hath longed for the all the night, and wt my sprete (which is within me) wyll I seke the earlye in the morning. For when thy iudgementes are in the erth, the inhabitatours of the worlde shall learne righteousnes.
26:10Shall the vngodly man be fauoured, which hath not learned ryghteousnes, but doth wickedly in the erth where nothynge ought to be done, but that which is ryghteous? He shall not se the glory of the Lorde.
26:11Lorde, when thy hande is lyfte vp to stryke, they se it not: but they shall se it, and be confounded with the zele of the people, and the fyer that consumeth thyne enemyes, shall deuoure them.
26:12Lord, vnto vs thou shalt prouyde peace: for thou also hast wrought all our workis in vs.
26:13O Lorde our God, other lordes besyde the hath subdued vs: but we wylbe mindfull only of the & of thy name.
26:14The deed will not lyue, & they that be out of lyfe, will not ryse agayne: therfore hast thou visited & roted them out, and destroyed all the memory of them.
26:15Thou hast increased the people (O Lorde) thou hast increased the people, & thou art praysed: thou hast sent them farre of vnto all the coastes of the erth.
26:16Lorde in trouble haue they visited the: they powred out their prayer, when thy chastenyng was vpon them.
26:17Lyke as a woman wt chylde that draweth nye towarde her trauell, is sory & cryeth in her paynes, euen so haue we bene in thy sight, O Lorde.
26:18We haue bene wt chylde & suffred payne, as though we had brought forth winde. For there is no saluation in the erth, nether do the inhabitours of the worlde submyt them selues.
26:19Thy deed men shall lyue, euen wt my body shall they rise agayne. Awake and syng ye that dwell in dust. For thy dewe is euen as the dewe of herbes, and the earth shall cast out them that be vnder her.
26:20Come my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy dores about the: hyde thy selfe a lytle for a whyle, vntyll the indignation be ouerpast.
26:21For lo, the Lorde is commyng out of his place, to viset the wickednes of suche as dwell vpon earth. The earth also shall disclose her awne bloud, and shall nomore hid them that are slayne in her.

26:1In that dai this song schal be sungun in the lond of Juda. The citee of oure strengthe; the sauyour schal be set ther ynne, the wal and the `fore wal.
26:2Opene ye the yatis, and the iust folk schal entre, kepynge treuthe.
26:3The elde errour is gon awei; thou schalt kepe pees, pees, for thou, Lord, we hopiden in thee.
26:4Ye han hopid in the Lord, in euerlastynge worldis, in the Lord God, strong with outen ende.
26:5For he schal bowe doun hem that dwellen an hiy, and he schal make low an hiy citee; he schal make it low `til to the erthe; he schal drawe it doun `til to the dust.
26:6The foot of a pore man schal defoule it, and the steppis of nedi men schulen defoule it.
26:7The weie of a iust man is riytful, the path of a iust man is riytful to go.
26:8And in the weie of thi domes, Lord, we suffriden thee; thi name, and thi memorial is in desir of soule.
26:9My soule schal desire thee in the niyt, but also with my spirit in myn entrails; fro the morewtid Y schal wake to thee. Whanne thou schalt make thi domes in erthe, alle dwelleris of the world schulen lerne riytfulnesse.
26:10Do we merci to the wickid man, and he schal not lerne to do riytfulnesse; in the lond of seyntis he dide wickid thingis, and he schal not se the glorie of the Lord.
26:11Lord, thin hond be enhaunsid, that thei se not; puplis hauynge enuye se, and be schent, and fier deuoure thin enemyes.
26:12Lord, thou schalt yyue pees to vs, for thou hast wrouyt alle oure werkis in vs.
26:13Oure Lord God, lordis hadden vs in possessioun, withouten thee; oneli in thee haue we mynde of thi name.
26:14Thei that dien, lyue not, and giauntis risen not ayen. Therfor thou hast visityd, and hast al-to broke hem, and thou hast lost al the mynde of hem; and Lord, thou hast foryoue to a folc,
26:15thou hast foryoue to a folc. Whether thou art glorified? thou hast maad fer fro thee all the endis of erthe.
26:16Lord, in angwisch thei souyten thee; in the tribulacioun of grutchyng thi doctryn to hem.
26:17As sche that conseyuede, whanne sche neiyeth sorewful to the child beryng, crieth in her sorewis, so we ben maad, Lord, of thi face.
26:18We han conseyued, and we han as trauelid of child, and we han childid the spirit of helthe; we diden not riytfulnesse in erthe. Therfor the dwelleris of erthe fellen not doun; thi deed men schulen lyue,
26:19and my slayn men schulen rise ayen. Ye that dwellen in dust, awake, and herie; for whi the deew of liyt is thi deew, and thou schalt drawe doun the lond of giauntis in to fallyng.
26:20Go thou, my puple, entre in to thi beddis, close thi doris on thee, be thou hid a litil at a moment, til indignacioun passe.
26:21For lo! the Lord schal go out of his place, to visite the wickidnesse of the dwellere of erthe ayens hym; and the erthe schal schewe his blood, and schal no more hile hise slayn men.

26:1Then shal this songe be sunge in the londe of Iuda: We haue a stroge citie, the walles & the ordinauce shal kepe vs.
26:2Ope ye gates, yt the good people maye go in, which laboureth for the treuth.
26:3And thou, which art the doer and hast the matter in honde: shalt prouyde for peace, eue the peace yt me hope for in the.
26:4Hope stil in the LORDE, for in the LORDE God is euerlastinge stregth.
26:5For why, it is he, yt bringeth lowe the hie mynded citesyns, & casteth downe the proude cities. He casteth the to the groude, yee eue in to ye myre, yt they maye be trode
26:6vnder the fete of the symple, & with the steppes of the poore.
26:7Thou (LORDE) cosidrest the path of ye rigtuous, whether it be right, whether the waye of ye rightuous be right.
26:8Therfore (LORDE) we haue a respecte vnto the waye of thy iudgmentes, thy name and thy remebraunce reioyse the soule.
26:9My soule lusteth after the all the night loge, & my mynde haisteth frely to the. For as soone as thy iudgment is knowne to the worlde, the the inhabitours of the earth lerne rightuousnesse.
26:10But the vngodly (though he haue recaued grace) yet lerneth he not rightuousnesse, but in that place where he is punished, he offendeth, & feareth not the glory of the LORDE.
26:11LORDE, they wil not se thine hie honde, but they shal se it, and be confounded: whe thou shalt deuoure them with the wrath of the people, and with the fyre of thine enemies.
26:12But vnto vs (LORDE) prouyde for peace: for thou workest in vs all or workes.
26:13O LORDE oure God, though soch lordes haue dominacion vpon vs as knowe not the: yet graute, that we maye only hope in the, and kepe thy name in remembraunce.
26:14The malicious Tyrauntes whe they die, are nether in life nor in the resurrectio, for thou visitest the and rootest the out, and destroyest all the memoryall of them.
26:15Agayne, thou increacest the people (o LORDE), thou increacest the people, thou shalt be praysed and magnified in all ye endes of the worlde.
26:16The people that seke vnto the in trouble, that same aduersite which they complane of, is vnto the a chastenynge before the.
26:17Like as a wife wt childe (whe hir trauayle cometh vpo her) is ashamed, crieth and suffreth the payne: Eue so are we (o LORDE) in thy sight.
26:18We are with childe, we trauayle, & beare, & with the sprete we bringe forth health, wherethorow the earth is vndestroyed, and the inhabitours of the worlde perish not.
26:19But as for thy dead men and ours, that be departed, they are in life and resurrection. They lie in the earth, they wake, & haue ioye: for yi dew is a dew of life & light. But ye place of the malicious Tyrauntes is falle awaye.
26:20So go now my people in to thy chabre, and shut the doore to the, and suffre now ye twicklinge of an eye, till the wrath be ouerpast
26:21For beholde, the LORDE wil go out of his habitacion, & vyset the wickednes of the that dwell vpon earth. He wil discouer the bloude that she hath deuoured, she shal neuer hyde the, that she hath murthured.
