Isaiah - Chapter: 33

>
33:1Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee: when thou shalt cease to spoile, thou shalt bee spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deale treacherously, they shall deale treacherously with thee.
33:2O Lord, be gratious vnto vs, we haue waited for thee: be thou their arme euery morning, our saluation also in the time of trouble.
33:3At the noise of the tumult the people fled: at the lifting vp of thy selfe the nations were scattered.
33:4And your spoile shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of Locusts shall he runne vpon them.
33:5The Lord is exalted: for hee dwelleth on high, he hath filled Zion with iudgement and righteousnesse.
33:6And wisedome and knowledge shall be the stabilitie of thy times, and strength of saluation: the feare of the Lord is his treasure.
33:7Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadours of peace shall weepe bitterly.
33:8The high wayes lye waste; the way faring man ceaseth: he hath broken the couenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
33:9The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewen downe: Sharon is like a wildernes, and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
33:10Now will I rise, saith the Lord: now will I be exalted, now will I lift vp my selfe.
33:11Yee shall conceiue chaffe, yee shall bring forth stubble: your breath as fire shall deuoure you.
33:12And the people shalbe as the burnings of lyme: as thornes cut vp shall they be burnt in the fire.
33:13Heare yee that are farre off, what I haue done; and yee that are neere, acknowledge my might.
33:14The sinners in Zion are afraid, fearefulnesse hath surprised the hypocrites: who among vs shall dwell with the deuouring fire? who amongst vs shall dwell with euerlasting burnings?
33:15He that walketh righteously, and speaketh vprightly, hee that despiseth the gaine of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his eares from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing euill:
33:16He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shalbe the munitions of rocks, bread shalbe giuen him, his waters shall be sure.
33:17Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very farre off.
33:18Thine heart shall meditate terrour; Where is the scribe? where is the receiuer? where is he that counted the towres?
33:19Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech then thou canst perceiue; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not vnderstand.
33:20Looke vpon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Ierusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken downe, not one of the stakes thereof shall euer be remoued, neither shall any of the coardes thereof be broken.
33:21But there the glorious Lord will be vnto vs a place of broad riuers and streames; wherein shall goe no galley with oares, neither shall gallant ship passe thereby.
33:22For the Lord is our Iudge, the Lord is our Lawgiuer, the Lord is our King, he wil saue vs.
33:23Thy tacklings are loosed: they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the saile: then is the praye of a great spoile diuided, the lame take the praye.
33:24And the inhabitant shall not say; I am sicke: the people that dwel therein shalbe forgiuen their iniquitie.

33:1Wo to thee that destroyest when thou wast not destroyed, thou breakest ye league where as none hath broken it with thee: for when thou shalt leaue destroying, thou thy selfe shalt be destroyed: and when thou ceassest from breakyng the league, then shall they breake it to thee
33:2O Lorde haue mercie vpon vs, we haue put our whole trust in thee: be an arme to such early, and our health in the tyme of trouble
33:3At that confuse noyse the people fled, and at thine exaltyng the heathen were scattered
33:4And the spoyles shalbe gathered, which shalbe yours, as are the gathetheryng of Bruchus, and the multitude goyng to it shalbe as Locustes, running to and fro
33:5The Lorde is exalted, for it is he that dwelleth on hye, he hath fylled Sion with iudgement and rygteousnesse
33:6And a sure stablishyng of thy tymes, shalbe strength, health, wisdome, and knowledge: and the very feare of the Lorde shalbe the treasure of it
33:7Beholde the messengers shall crye without: and the embassadours of peace shall weepe bitterly
33:8Their streetes are waste, there walketh no man therin: God hath broken the appoyntment, the cities are cast away, and men are nothyng regarded
33:9The desolate earth is in heauinesse, Libanus is shamed and hewen downe, Saron is like a wildernesse, Basan and Charmel are spoyled of their fruites
33:10And therfore saith the Lorde, I wyll vp nowe, nowe wyll I be aduaunced, nowe wyll I be exalted
33:11Ye shall conceaue stubble, and beare strawe: and your spirite shalbe the fire, that it may consume you
33:12And the people shalbe burnt like lime, and as thornes burnt that are hewen of and cast in the fire
33:13Nowe hearken to ye that are farre of howe I haue done, and consider my power ye that are at hande
33:14The sinners at Sion are afrayde, a sodayne fearefulnesse is come vpon the hypocrites: What is he among vs say they that shall dwell by the consumyng fire? Which of vs may abyde the euerlasting heate
33:15He that leadeth a godly life, and speaketh the trueth, he that abhorreth gaynes by violence and deceipt, he that kepeth his hande that he touche no rewarde, which stoppeth his eares that he heare no counsayle agaynst the innocent blood, which holdeth downe his eyes that he see no euyll
33:16He it is that shall dwell on hye, whose safegarde shalbe in a bulwarke of rockes: to hym shalbe geuen meate, and his waters shall not fayle
33:17Thine eyes shall see the kyng in his glorie, euen the kyng of the farre countreys shall they see
33:18Thine heart studied for feare thinking thus: What shall then become of the scribe? of the receauer of our money? what of hym that taxed our fairest houses
33:19There shalt thou not see a cruel people of a straunge tongue, to haue so diffused a language that it may not be vnderstanded, neither so straunge a speache but it shalbe perceaued
33:20Loke vpon Sion the head citie of our solempne feastes: thyne eyes shall see Hierusalem that glorious habitation, the tabernacle that neuer shall remoue, whose nayles shall neuer be taken out worlde without ende, whose cordes euery one shall neuer corrupt
33:21For the glorious maiestie of the Lorde shall there be present among vs as a place where faire brode riuers and streames are, through the which shall neither galley rowe nor great ship sayle
33:22For the Lorde is our iudge, the Lord is our lawe geuer, the Lord is our king, and he hym selfe shalbe our sauiour
33:23Thy tacklyng is loosed, therfore it can not make fast the mast, nor spread the sayle: then there is dealed great spoyle, yea lame men runne after the pray
33:24There lyeth no man that saith, I am sicke: but all euyll is taken away from the people that dwell there

33:1Woe to thee that spoylest, and wast not spoyled: and doest wickedly, and they did not wickedly against thee: when thou shalt cease to spoyle, thou shalt be spoyled: when thou shalt make an ende of doing wickedly, they shall doe wickedly against thee.
33:2O Lord, haue mercie vpon vs, wee haue waited for thee: be thou, which waste their arme in the morning, our helpe also in time of trouble.
33:3At the noise of the tumult, the people fled: at thine exalting the nations were scattered.
33:4And your spoyle shall be gathered like the gathering of caterpillers: and he shall go against him like the leaping of grashoppers.
33:5The Lord is exalted: for hee dwelleth on hie: he hath filled Zion with iudgement and iustice.
33:6And there shall be stabilitie of thy times, strength, saluation, wisdome and knowledge: for the feare of the Lord shalbe his treasure.
33:7Behold, their messengers shall cry without, and ye ambassadours of peace shall weepe bitterly.
33:8The pathes are waste: the wayfaring man ceaseth: hee hath broken the couenant: hee hath contemned the cities: he regarded no man.
33:9The earth mourneth and fainteth: Lebanon is ashamed, and hewen downe: Sharon is like a wildernes, and Bashan is shaken and Carmel.
33:10Now will I arise, saith the Lord: now will I be exalted, now will I lift vp my selfe.
33:11Ye shall conceiue chaffe, and bring forth stubble: the fire of your breath shall deuoure you.
33:12And the people shall be as the burning of lime: and as the thornes cut vp, shall they be burnt in the fire.
33:13Heare, yee that are farre off, what I haue done, and ye that are neere, know my power.
33:14The sinners in Zion are afraide: a feare is come vpon the hypocrites: who among vs shall dwel with the deuouring fire? who among vs shall dwell with the euerlasting burnings?
33:15Hee that walketh in iustice, and speaketh righteous things, refusing gaine of oppression, shaking his handes from taking of gifts, stopping his eares from hearing of blood, and shutting his eyes from seeing euill.
33:16He shall dwell on hie: his defence shall be the munitions of rockes: bread shalbe giuen him, and his waters shalbe sure.
33:17Thine eyes shall see the King in his glory: they shall beholde the lande farre off.
33:18Thine heart shall meditate feare, Where is the scribe? where is the receiuer? where is hee that counted the towres?
33:19Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a darke speache, that thou canst not perceiue, and of a stammering tongue that thou canst not vnderstande.
33:20Looke vpon Zion the citie of our solemne feastes: thine eyes shall see Ierusalem a quiet habitation, a Tabernacle that can not be remooued: and the stakes thereof can neuer be taken away, neither shall any of the cordes thereof be broken.
33:21For surely there the mightie Lord will be vnto vs, as a place of floods and broade riuers, whereby shall passe no shippe with oares, neither shall great shippe passe thereby.
33:22For the Lord is our Iudge, the Lord is our lawe giuer: the Lord is our King, he will saue vs.
33:23Thy cordes are loosed: they could not well strengthen their maste, neither coulde they spread the saile: then shall the praye be deuided for a great spoile: yea, the lame shall take away the pray.
33:24And none inhabitant shall say, I am sicke: the people that dwell therein, shall haue their iniquitie forgiuen.
