| 41:2 | Who raysed vp the iust man from the rysinge of the Sunne, & called him to go forth? Who cast downe the people, and subdued the kynges before him: that he maye throwe them all to the grounde with his swearde, and scatre them lyke stubble with his bowe? |
| 41:3 | He foloweth vpon them, and goeth safely him self. And that in a waye where before his fote had not troden. |
| 41:4 | Who hath made and created thes thinges? euen he that called the generacions from the begynnyng? Euen I the Lorde, which am the fyrst, and with the last. |
| 41:5 | The yles sawe it, & did feare, and the endes of the earth, were abashed, drewe nye, & cam hither. |
| 41:6 | Euery man exhorted hys neyghboure, & brother, and bad him be stronge. |
| 41:7 | The carpenter comforted the goldsmyth, & the goldsmyth the hammer man, saying: Glue wyll do very wel in it. It shalbe good, that we fasten this cast worke: & then they fastened it with nayles, that it shulde not be moued, |
| 41:8 | But thou Israel art my seruaunte: thou Iacob art electe, thou art the sede of Abraham my beloued |
| 41:9 | thou art he whom I led from the endes of the earth by the hande. For I called the from farre euen from among the gloriouse men of it, & sayd vnto the. Thou art my seruaunt. I haue chosen the, and not cast the awaye: |
| 41:10 | be not afrayed, for I am wt the. Melt not away as waxe, for I am thy God, to strength the, helpe the, & to kepe the wt this ryght hande of myne. |
| 41:11 | Beholde, all they that resyst the shall come to confusyon & shame: and thyne aduersaries shalbe destroyed & brought to naught. |
| 41:12 | So that whoso seketh after them, shall not fynde them. Thy destroyers shall perysh, and so shall they that vndertake to make batayll agaynst the be as that is not, & as a thinge of naught. |
| 41:13 | For I thy Lorde and God will strengthen thy ryght hand. Euen I that saye vnto the. Feare not. I wyll helpe the |
| 41:14 | Be not afrayde thou lytle worme Iacob, & thou despysed Israel: for I wyll helpe the, sayeth the Lorde, and the holy one of Israel thyne auenger. |
| 41:15 | Beholde, I wyll make the a treading cart and a new flayle, that thou mayst thresshe and grinde the mountaynes, and brynge the hylles to poulder. |
| 41:16 | Thou shalt fanne them and the wynde shall carye them awaye, and the whirlwynde shall scater them. But thou shalt reioyse in the Lorde, and shalt delyte in praysinge the holy one of Israel. |
| 41:17 | When the thyrsty and poore seke water & fynde none, and when theyr tonge is drye of thyrst. I geue it them sayth the Lorde. I the God of Israel forsake them not. |
| 41:18 | I brynge forth floudes in the hylles, and welles in the playne feldes. I turne the wyldernes to ryuers, and the drye lande to condyttes of water. |
| 41:19 | I plante in the waste grounde trees of Cedre, Boxe, Myrre and Oliues. And in the drye I set Fyrre trees, Elmes, & Hawthornes together. |
| 41:20 | All this do I, that they altogether may se and marcke, perceaue with their hertes and consydre, that the hande of the Lord maketh these thynges, and that the holy one of Israel bryngeth them to passe. |
| 41:21 | Stande at youre cause (sayeth the Lorde) & bringe forth youre strongest grounde, sayth the kynge of Iacob. |
| 41:22 | Let them bring forth their goddes, and let ther goddes tel vs what shall chaunse here after: yee, let them shewe vs the thynges that are past, what they be: let them declare them vnto vs that we maye take them to herte, and knowe them herafter. |
| 41:23 | Ether, shewe vs thynges for to come, & tel vs what shalbe done herafter: so shall we knowe, that you are goddes do somthing, ether good or bad: so will we both knowledge the same: and tell it out. |
| 41:24 | Beholde, ye goddes are of naught, & your makynge is of naught, yee abhominable is the man that hath chosen you. |
| 41:25 | Neuertheles, I haue waked vp one from the North, and he shall come. And another from the East, which shall call vpon my name, & shall treade vpon princes as vpon claye, & as the potter treadeth downe the myre. |
| 41:26 | Who declared this from the begynning, and we wyll knowe him. Or from the olde tymes, & we will confesse, and saye that he is righteous. But there is none that sheweth or declareth eny thing, there is none also that heareth youre wordes. |
| 41:27 | The fyrst is he that shall saye to Zyon, Beholde, beholde they are present, & to Ierusalem it selfe will I geue an Euangeliste. |
| 41:28 | But when I consyder there is not a man amonge them, nor any that can geue counsell, nor that when I examen them that can answer one word. |
| 41:29 | Lo, wicked are they & vayne, wt the thinges also that they take in hand: yee, their ymages are but wynde & vayne thinges. |

| 41:2 | Who reiside the iust man fro the eest, and clepide hym to sue hym silf? He schal yyue folkis in his siyt, and he schal welde kyngis; he schal yyue as dust to his swerd, and as stobil `that is rauyschid of the wynd, to his bowe. |
| 41:3 | He schal pursue hem, he schal go in pees; a path schal not appere in hise feet. |
| 41:4 | Who wrouyte and dide these thingis? clepynge generaciouns at the bigynnyng. Y am the Lord; and Y am the firste and the laste. |
| 41:5 | Ilis sien, and dredden; the laste partis of erthe were astonyed; thei camen niy, and neiyiden. |
| 41:6 | Ech man schal helpe his neiybore, and schal seie to his brother, Be thou coumfortid. |
| 41:7 | A smyth of metal smytynge with an hamer coumfortide him that polischyde, ethir made fair, in that tyme, seiynge, It is good, to glu; and he fastenede hym with nailis, that he schulde not be mouyd. |
| 41:8 | And thou, Israel, my seruaunte, Jacob, whom Y chees, the seed of Abraham, my frend, in whom Y took thee; |
| 41:9 | fro the laste partis of erthe, and fro the fer partis therof Y clepide thee; and Y seide to thee, Thou art my seruaunt; Y chees thee, and castide not awei thee. |
| 41:10 | Drede thou not, for Y am with thee; boowe thou not awei, for Y am thi God. Y coumfortide thee, and helpide thee; and the riythond of my iust man vp took thee. |
| 41:11 | Lo! alle men schulen be schent, and schulen be aschamed, that fiyten ayens thee; thei schulen be as if thei ben not, and men schulen perische, that ayen seien thee. |
| 41:12 | Thou schalt seke hem, and thou schalt not fynde thi rebel men; thei schulen be, as if thei ben not, and as the wastyng of a man fiytynge ayens thee. |
| 41:13 | For Y am thi Lord God, takynge thin hond, and seiynge to thee, Drede thou not, Y helpide thee. |
| 41:14 | Nyle thou, worm of Jacob, drede, ye that ben deed of Israel. Y helpide thee, seith the Lord, and thin ayen biere, the hooli of Israel. |
| 41:15 | Y haue set thee as a newe wayn threischynge, hauynge sawynge bilis; thou schalt threische mounteyns, and schalt make smal, and thou schalt sette litle hillis as dust. |
| 41:16 | Thou schalt wyndewe hem, and the wynd schal take hem awei, and a whirlewynd schal scatere hem; and thou schalt make ful out ioie in the Lord, and thou schalt be glad in the hooli of Israel. |
| 41:17 | Nedi men and pore seken watris, and tho ben not; the tunge of hem driede for thirst. Y the Lord schal here hem, I God of Israel schal not forsake hem. |
| 41:18 | Y schal opene floodis in hiy hillis, and wellis in the myddis of feeldis; Y schal sette the desert in to poondis of watris, and the lond without weie in to ryuers of watris. |
| 41:19 | Y schal yyue in wildirnesse a cedre, and a thorn, and a myrte tre, and the tre of an olyue; Y schal sette in the desert a fir tre, an elm, and a box tre togidere. |
| 41:20 | That thei se, and knowe, and bithenke, and vndurstonde togidere; that the hond of the Lord dide this thing, and the hooli of Israel made that of nouyt. |
| 41:21 | Make ye niy youre doom, seith the Lord; brynge ye, if in hap ye han ony thing, seith the kyng of Jacob. |
| 41:22 | Neiy tho, and telle to vs, what euer thingis schulen come; telle ye the formere thingis that weren, and we schulen sette oure herte, and schulen wite; schewe ye to vs the laste thingis of hem, and tho thingis that schulen come. |
| 41:23 | Telle ye what thingis schulen come in tyme to comynge, and we schulen wite, that ye ben goddis; al so do ye wel, ethir yuele, if ye moun; and speke we, and see we togidere. |
| 41:24 | Lo! ye ben of nouyt, and youre werk is of that that is not; he that chees you, is abhomynacioun. |
| 41:25 | I reiside fro the north, and he schal come fro the risyng of the sunne; he schal clepe my name. And he schal brynge magistratis as cley, and as a pottere defoulynge erthe. |
| 41:26 | Who tolde fro the bigynnyng, that we wite, and fro the bigynnyng, that we seie, Thou art iust? noon is tellynge, nether biforseiynge, nether herynge youre wordis. |
| 41:27 | The firste schal seie to Sion, Lo! Y am present; and Y schal yyue a gospellere to Jerusalem. |
| 41:28 | And Y siy, and noon was of these, that token councel, and he that was axid, answeride a word. |
| 41:29 | Lo! alle men ben vniust, and her werkis ben wynd and veyn; the symylacris of hem ben wynd, and voide thing. |

| 41:6 | Euery man hath exorted his neghboure, and brother, and bydden him be stronge. |

| 41:22 | Let the goddes come forth them selues, and shewe vs the thinges ye are past, what they be: let the declare the vnto vs, yt we maye take them to herte, and knowe them herafter. |
| 41:23 | Ether, let the shewe vs thinges for to come, and tel vs what shalbe done herafter: so shal we knowe, that they be goddes. Shewe somthinge, ether good or bad, so wil we both knowlege ye same, & tel it out. |
| 41:24 | Beholde, ye goddes are of naught, & yor makinge is of naught, but abhomination hath chosen you. |
| 41:25 | Neuertheles I haue waked vp one from the North, & he shal come. And another from the East, which shal call vpo my name, & shal come to the prynces, as the Potter to his claye, & as ye Potter treadeth downe the myre. |
| 41:26 | Who tolde yt afore? So wil we confesse & saye, that he is rightuous. But there is none that sheweth or declareth eny thinge, there is none also that heareth youre wordes. |
| 41:27 | Beholde, I will first graute the of Sion & Ierusalem to be Euangelistes. |
| 41:28 | But when I cosidre: there is not one amonge the yt prophecieth, nether (when I axe him) yt answereth one worde. |
| 41:29 | Lo, wicked are they & vayne, with the thinges also that they take in honde: yee wynde are they, and emptynesse, with their ymages together. |
