Isaiah - Chapter: 45

>
45:1Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
45:2I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
45:3And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
45:4For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
45:5I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
45:6That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
45:7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
45:8Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.
45:9Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
45:10Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?
45:11Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
45:12I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
45:13I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
45:14Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
45:15Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
45:16They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.
45:17But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
45:18For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
45:19I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
45:20Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
45:21Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
45:22Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
45:23I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
45:24Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
45:25In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

45:1Thus sayeth the Lord vnto Cyrus his anointed, whose right hand I haue holden to subdue nations before him: therefore will I weaken the loynes of Kings and open the doores before him, and the gates shall not be shut:
45:2I will goe before thee and make the crooked streight: I will breake the brasen doores, and burst the yron barres.
45:3And I will giue thee the treasures of darkenesse, and the things hid in secret places, that thou maist know that I am the Lord which call thee by thy name, euen the God of Israel.
45:4For Iaakob my seruants sake, and Israel mine elect, I will euen call thee by thy name and name thee, though thou hast not knowen me.
45:5I am the Lord and there is none other: there is no God besides me: I girded thee though thou hast not knowen me,
45:6That they may knowe from the rising of the sunne and from the West, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none other.
45:7I forme the light and create darkenes: I make peace and create euill: I the Lord doe all these things.
45:8Ye heauens, send the dewe from aboue, and let the cloudes droppe downe righteousnesse: let the earth open, and let saluation and iustice growe foorth: let it bring them foorth together: I the Lord haue created him.
45:9Woe be vnto him that striueth with his maker, the potsherd with the potsherds of the earth: shall the clay say to him that facioneth it, What makest thou? or thy worke, It hath none hands?
45:10Woe vnto him that sayeth to his father, What hast thou begotten? or to his mother, What hast thou brought foorth?
45:11Thus saith the Lord, the holy one of Israel, and his maker, Aske me of things to come concerning my sonnes, and concerning the workes of mine hands: commande you me.
45:12I haue made the earth, and created man vpon it: I, whose hands haue spred out the heauens, I haue euen commanded all their armie.
45:13I haue raised him vp in righteousnesse, and I will direct all his wayes: he shall build my citie, and he shall let goe my captiues, not for price nor rewarde, saith the Lord of hostes.
45:14Thus sayth the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and the marchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of stature shall come vnto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall follow thee, and shall goe in chaines: they shall fall downe before thee, and make supplication vnto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee, and there is none other God besides.
45:15Verely thou, O God, hidest thy selfe, O God, the Sauiour of Israel.
45:16All they shalbe ashamed and also confounded: they shall goe to confusion together, that are the makers of images.
45:17But Israel shall be saued in the Lord, with an euerlasting saluation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded worlde without ende.
45:18For thus saith the Lord (that created heauen, God himselfe, that formed the earth, and made it: he that prepared it, he created it not in vaine: he formed it to be inhabited) I am the Lord, and there is none other.
45:19I haue not spoken in secrete, neither in a place of darkenes in the earth: I saide not in vaine vnto the seede of Iaakob, Seeke you me: I the Lord doe speake righteousnesse, and declare righteous things.
45:20Assemble your selues, and come: drawe neere together, ye abiect of the Gentiles: they haue no knowledge, that set vp the wood of their idole, and pray vnto a god, that cannot saue them.
45:21Tell ye and bring them, and let them take counsell together, who hath declared this from the beginning? or hath tolde it of olde? Haue not I the Lord? and there is none other God beside me, a iust God, and a Sauiour: there is none beside me.
45:22Looke vnto me, and ye shall be saued: all the endes of the earth shall be saued: for I am God, and there is none other.
45:23I haue sworne by my selfe: the worde is gone out of my mouth in righteousnesse, and shall not returne, That euery knee shall bowe vnto me, and euery tongue shall sweare by me.
45:24Surely he shall say, In the Lord haue I righteousnesse and strength: he shall come vnto him, and all that prouoke him, shall be ashamed.
45:25The whole seede of Israel shall be iustified, and glorie in the Lord.

45:1Thus sayeth the Lord vnto Cyrus his anoynted whom I haue taken by the ryght hande, to subdue nations before him. I wyll lowse the gyrdle of kynges, & I wyll open the gates before his face, and not to shut their dores.
45:2I will go before the, and make the croked streyght, I shall breake the brasen dores, & burst the yron barres.
45:3I shall geue the the hyd treasures, & the thynge which is secretly kept: that thou mayest knowe that I am the Lorde God of Israel which haue called the by thy name:
45:4& that for Iacob my seruauntes sake, & for Israel my chosen. For I called the by thy name, and ordeyned the or euer thou knewest me.
45:5Euen I the Lord before whom there is none other: for without me ther is no God. I haue prepared the or euer thou knewest me,
45:6that I myght be knowne from the rysing of the sunne to the goynge downe of the same, that all is nothynge without me. For I am the Lorde, and there is els none.
45:7It is I that created the lyght & darcknes. I make peace and trouble: yee, euen I the Lorde do all these thinges.
45:8Ye heauens from aboue droppe downe, & let the cloudes rayne ryghteousnes. The earth open it selfe, and bringe forth health, that therby righteousnes maye florysh. Euen I the Lorde bringe it to passe.
45:9Wo be vnto him that stryueth wt his maker, the potsherde with the potter. Sayeth the claye to the potter. What makest thou? or thy worke serueth for nothing?
45:10Wo be vnto him that sayeth to hys father. Why begettest thou? And to his mother: why bearest thou?
45:11Thus sayeth the Lorde, euen the holy one, & maker of Israel. Aske me of thynges for to come, concernynge my sonnes: and put me in remembraunce, as touching the worckes of my handes:
45:12I haue made the earth, and created man vpon it. With myne handes haue I spred forth heauen, and geuen a commaundement for all the hoost therof.
45:13I shall wake him vp with ryghteousnes, and ordre all his wayes. He shall buylde my cytie, and let out my prisoners: & that nether for gyft nor rewardes, sayeth the Lord of Hostes.
45:14Thus sayeth the Lord. The occupiers of Egypt, the marchauntes of the Morians and Sabees, shall come vnto the with tribute, they shalbe thyne, they shall folowe the, and go with cheynes vpon their fete. They shall fall downe before the, and make supplicacyon vnto the. For God (without whom there is none other God) shalbe with the.
45:15O howe profounde art thou O God, thou God and Sauioure of Israel?
45:16Confounded are they all, and put to dishonoure: they are gone hence together with shame, euen the makers of ymages.
45:17But Israel shalbe saued in the Lorde, which is the euerlastinge saluacyon. Ye shall not come to shame ner confusyon, worlde without ende.
45:18For thus sayeth the Lord: euen he that created heauen, the God that made the earth, that fashyoned it, and sett it forth. He dyd not make it for naught, but to be enhabited. Euen I the Lorde, without whom there is none other.
45:19I haue not spoken secretly, nether in darcke places of the earth. It is not for naught, that I sayde vnto the sede of Iacob: seke me. I am the Lorde, which when I speake, declareth the thing that is righteous & true:
45:20gather you & come together, draw nie hyther, you that are escaped of the people. Haue they eny vnderstandynge, that set vp the stockes of theyr Idols, & praye vnto a God, that cannot helpe them?
45:21drawe nye, come hyther, and let them aske councell one at another and shewe forth. What is he, that tolde thys before? or, who spake of it, euer sence the begynning? Haue not I the Lord done it? wtout whom there is none other God? the true God and Sauioure, and ther is els none but I?
45:22And therfore turne you vnto me (all ye endes of the earth) that ye maye be saued: for I am God, & there is els none.
45:23I sweare by my selfe: oute of my mouth commeth the word of ryghteousnesse, and that maye no man turne: but all knees shall bowe vnto me, and all tunges shall sweare by my name,
45:24saying. Uerely, in the Lord is my ryghteousnes and strength. To him shal men come: but all they that thincke scorne of him, shalbe confounded.
45:25And the whole sede of Israel shalbe iustified and make their boast in the Lorde.
