Isaiah - Chapter: 59


59:1	Beholde, the Lords hand is not shortened, that it cannot saue: neither his eare heauie, that it cannot heare.
59:2	But your iniquities haue separated betweene you and your God, and your sinnes haue hid his face from you, that he will not heare.
59:3	For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquitie, your lippes haue spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered peruersnesse.
59:4	None calleth for iustice, nor any pleadeth for trueth: they trust in vanity and speake lies; they conceiue mischiefe, and bring forth iniquitie.
59:5	They hatch cockatrice egges, and weaue the spiders web: he that eateth of their egges dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
59:6	Their webbes shall not become garments, neither shall they couer themselues with their workes: their workes are workes of iniquitie, and the act of violence is in their hands.
59:7	Their feete runne to euill, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, wasting & destruction are in their paths.
59:8	The way of peace they know not, and there is no iudgement in their goings: they haue made them crooked pathes; whosoeuer goeth therein, shall not know peace.
59:9	Therefore is iudgement farre from vs, neither doth iustice ouertake vs: we waite for light, but behold obscuritie, for brightnesse, but we walke in darknesse.
59:10	We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eies: we stumble at noone day as in the night, we are in desolate places as dead men.
59:11	We roare all like beares, and mourne sore like doues: we looke for iudgement, but there is none; for saluation, but it is farre off from vs.
59:12	For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sinnes testifie against vs: for our transgressions are with vs, and as for our iniquities, we know them:
59:13	In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and reuolt, conceiuing and vttering from the heart words of falshood.
59:14	And iudgement is turned away backward, and iustice standeth a farre off: for truth is fallen in the streete, and equitie cannot enter.
59:15	Yea truth faileth, and he that departeth from euill maketh himselfe a pray: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him, that there was no iudgement.
59:16	And hee saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessour. Therefore his arme brought saluation vnto him, and his righteousnesse, it sustained him.
59:17	For he put on righteousnesse as a brestplate, and an helmet of saluation vpon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeale as a cloake.
59:18	According to their deedes accordingly he will repay, furie to his aduersaries, recompence to his enemies, to the ylands he will repay recompence.
59:19	So shall they feare the name of the Lord from the West, and his glory from the rising of the sunne: when the enemie shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift vp a standard against him.
59:20	And the redeemer shall come to Zion, and vnto them that turne from transgression in Iacob, saith the Lord.
59:21	As for me, this is my couenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is vpon thee, and my words which I haue put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of the seede, nor out of the mouth of thy seedes seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth, and for euer.

59:7	Their feete runne to euill, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are wicked thoughts: desolation and destruction is in their paths.
59:8	The way of peace they knowe not, and there is none equitie in their goings: they haue made them crooked paths: whosoeuer goeth therein, shall not knowe peace.
59:9	Therefore is iudgement farre from vs, neither doeth iustice come neere vnto vs: we waite for light, but loe, it is darkenesse: for brightnesse, but we walke in darkenesse.
59:10	Wee grope for the wall like the blinde, and we grope as one without eyes: we stumble at the noone day as in the twilight: we are in solitarie places, as dead men.
59:11	We roare all like beares, and mourne like dooues: wee looke for equitie, but there is none: for health, but it is farre from vs.
59:12	For our trespasses are many before thee, and our sinnes testifie against vs: for our trespasses are with vs, and we knowe our iniquities
59:13	In trespassing and lying against the Lord, and wee haue departed away from our God, and haue spoken of crueltie and rebellion, conceiuing and vttering out of the heart false matters.
59:14	Therefore iudgement is turned backewarde, and iustice standeth farre off: for trueth is fallen in the streete, and equitie cannot enter.
59:15	Yea, trueth faileth, and hee that refraineth from euill, maketh himselfe a praye: and when the Lord sawe it, it displeased him, that there was no iudgement.
59:16	And when he sawe that there was no man, hee wondered that none woulde offer him selfe. Therefore his arme did saue it, and his righteousnes it selfe did sustaine it.
59:17	For he put on righteousnes, as an habergeon, and an helmet of saluation vpon his head, and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeale as a cloke.
59:18	As to make recompence, as to requite the furie of the aduersaries with a recompence to his enemies: he will fully repaire the ylands.
59:19	So shall they feare the Name of the Lord from the West, and his glory from the rising of the sunne: for the enemie shall come like a flood: but the Spirit of the Lord shall chase him away.
59:20	And the Redeemer shall come vnto Zion, and vnto them that turne from iniquitie in Iaakob, saith the Lord.
59:21	And I will make this my couenant with them, saith the Lord. My Spirit that is vpon thee, and my wordes, which I haue put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seede, nor out of the mouth of the seede of thy seede, saith the Lord, from hencefoorth euen for euer.


59:1	Beholde the Lordes hande is not so shortened that it can not helpe, nether is his eare so stopped that it maye not heare.
59:2	But youre mysdedes haue separated you from youre God, & your synnes hyde his face from you, that he heareth you not.
59:3	For youre handes are defyled wyth bloude, & youre fyngers wt vnrighteousnesse: Your lyppes speake lesynges, and youre tonge setteth oute wyckednes.
59:4	No man regardeth ryghteousnes, and no man iudgeth truly. Euery man hopeth in vayne thynges, and ymagineth disceate conceaueth weerynesse, and bryngeth forth euell.
59:5	They brede cockatrice egges, and weaue the spyders webb: Who so eateth of their egges, dyeth. But yf one treade vpon them, there commeth vp a serpent.
59:6	Theyr webbe maketh no clothe, and they maye not couer them wyth their labours. Their dedes are the dedes of wyckednes, and the worcke of robbery is in their handes.
59:7	Theyr fete runne to euell, and they make haste to shed innocent bloude. Theyr councels are wicked councels, harme and destruccyon are in their wayes.
59:8	But the waye of peace they knowe not. In theyr goinges is no equyte: their wayes are so croked, that whosoeuer goeth theryn, knoweth of no peace.
59:9	And this is the cause that equite is so farre from vs, and that righteousnes commeth not nye vs. We loke for lyght, lo, it is darckenesse: for the mornynge shyne, se, we walcke in the darcke.
59:10	We grope lyke the blynde vpon the wall, we grope euen as one that hath none eyes. We stomble at the none daye, as though it were toward nyght: in the fallyng places, lyke men that are halfe deed.
59:11	We roare all lyke Beers, and mourne styll lyke doues. We loke for equyte, but there is none: for health, but it is farre from vs.
59:12	For oure offences are many before the, & oure synnes testifye agaynst vs. Yee, we must confesse that we offende, & knowledge that we do amysse:
59:13	Namely, transgresse & dissemble agaynst the Lorde, and fall awaye from oure God: vsynge presumptuous and traytorous ymaginacyons, and castinge false matters in oure hertes.
59:14	And therfore is equite gone asyde, and ryghteousnes standeth farre of treuth is fallen downe in the strete, and the thynge that is playne and open, maye not be shewed.
59:15	Yee, the treuth is taken awaye, and he that refrayneth him selfe from euell, must be spoyled. When the Lord sawe thys, it displeased him sore, that there was no equite.
59:16	He sawe also, that there was no man, ryghtwise, & he wondered that ther was no man to helpe hym. Wherfore he helde hym by his awne power, and he sustayned him by his awne righteousnes.
59:17	He put ryghteousnes vpon him for a brest plate, a set the helmet of health vpon hys head. He put on wrath in steade of clothynge, & toke gelousy about hym for a cloke:
59:18	(lyke as when a man goeth forth wrathfully to recompence hys enemyes, & to be auenged of hys aduersaryes.) Namelye, that be myght recompence & rewarde the Ilandes,
59:19	wher thorowe the name of the Lorde myght be feared, from the rysynge of the Sunne: and hys magesty, vnto the goinge downe of the same. For he shall come as a violent waterstreame, whych the wynde of the Lorde hath moued.
59:20	But vnto Sion there shall come a redemer, and vnto them in Iacob that turne from wyckednesse, sayeth the Lorde.
59:21	I wyll make thys couenaunt wyth them (sayth the Lorde:) My sprete that is vpon the, and the wordes which I haue put in thy mouth, shall neuer go out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy chylders chyldren, from thys tyme forth for euermore worlde wythout ende sayth the Lorde.
