| 61:1 | The sprete of the Lorde God is vpon me, for the Lorde hath anoynted me, and sent me, to preach good tydynges vnto the poore, that I myght bynde vp the wounded hertes, that I myght preach delyueraunce to the captyue, and open the preson to them that are bounde: |
| 61:2 | that I myght declare the acceptable yeare of the Lorde, and the daye of the vengeaunce of oure God: that I myght comforte all them that are in heuynesse, |
| 61:3 | that I myght geue vnto them that mourne in Sion, that I myght geue I saye, bewty in the steade of ashes, ioyfull oyntement for syghthinge, pleasaunt rayment for an heuy mynde: That they myght be called trees of ryghteousnesse, a plantynge of the Lorde for hym to reioyce in. |
| 61:4 | They shall buylde the longe rough wyldernes, & sett vp the olde deserte. They shall repayre the waste places, & soch as haue bene voyde thorowe out many generacyons. |
| 61:5 | Straungers shall stande and fede youre catel, and the Aleauntes shalbe youre plowmen & dressers of youre vynes. |
| 61:6 | But ye shalbe named the prestes of the Lorde, and men shall call you the seruauntes of oure God. Ye shall enioye the goodes of the Gentiles, and triumphe in their substaunce. |
| 61:7 | For youre greate reprofe youe shall haue double ioye, and for shame, shalt they haue ioye of their porcyon. For they shall haue double possession in their lande, and euerlastynge ioye shalbe with them. |
| 61:8 | For I the Lorde, which loue ryght and hate robbery (though it were offred me) shall make theyr workes full of faythfulnes & make an euerlastinge couenaunt with them. |
| 61:9 | Their sede also and their generacion shalbe knowen amonge the Gentiles, and amonge the people. All they that se them, shall knowe that they are the hye blessed sede of the Lord. |
| 61:10 | And therfore I am ioyfull in the Lorde, & my soule reioyseth in my God. For he hath put vpon me the garment of saluacion, & couered me with the mantle of ryghteousnes. He shall decke me lyke a brydegrome, and as a bride that hath hyr apparell vpon her. |
| 61:11 | For lyke as the grounde bryngeth forth frute, & as the garden shoteth forth sede: So shall the Lord God cause righteousnes, and prayse to God to florysh forth, before all the Heathen. |

And stronge men of riytfulnesse schulen be clepid ther ynne, the plauntyng of the Lord for to glorifie. |
| 61:4 | And thei schulen bilde thingis `that ben forsakun fro the world, and thei schulen reise elde fallyngis, and thei schulen restore citees `that ben forsakun and distried, in generacioun and in to generacioun. |
| 61:5 | And aliens schulen stonde, and fede youre beestis; and the sones of pilgrymes schulen be youre erthe tilieris and vyn tilieris. |
| 61:6 | But ye schulen be clepid the preestis of the Lord; it schal be seid to you, Ye ben mynystris of oure God. Ye schulen ete the strengthe of hethene men, and ye schulen be onourid in the glorie of hem. |
| 61:7 | For youre double schenschip and schame thei schulen preise the part of hem; for this thing thei schulen haue pesibli double thingis in her lond, and euerlastynge gladnesse schal be to hem. |
| 61:8 | For Y am the Lord, louynge doom, and hatynge raueyn in brent sacrifice. And Y schal yyue the werk of hem in treuthe, and Y schal smyte to hem an euerlastynge boond of pees. |
| 61:9 | And the seed of hem schal be knowun among folkis, and the buriownyng of hem in the myddis of puplis. Alle men that seen hem, schulen knowe hem, for these ben the seed, whom the Lord blesside. |
| 61:10 | I ioiynge schal haue ioie in the Lord, and my soule schal make ful out ioiyng in my God. For he hath clothid me with clothis of helthe, and he hath compassid me with clothis of riytfulnesse, as a spouse made feir with a coroun, and as a spousesse ourned with her brochis. |
| 61:11 | For as the erthe bryngith forth his fruyt, and as a gardyn buriowneth his seed, so the Lord God schal make to growe riytfulnesse, and preysyng bifore alle folkis. |

| 61:10 | And therfore I am ioyful in the LORDE, & my soule reioyseth in my God. For he shall put vpon me the garmet of health, & couer me with the matle of rightuousnes. He shal decke me like a brydegrome, & as a bryde that hath hir apparell vpo her. |
| 61:11 | For like as ye grounde bringeth forth frute, & as the garde shuteth forth sede: So shal the LORDE God cause rightuousnes, and the feare of God to florish forth before all the Heithen. |
