| 63:1 | `Who `is' this coming from Edom? With dyed garments from Bozrah? This that is honourable in his clothing, Travelling in the abundance of his power?' -- `I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.' |
| 63:2 | `Wherefore `is' thy clothing red? And thy garments as treading in a wine fat?' |
| 63:3 | -- `A wine-press I have trodden by myself, And of the peoples there is no one with me, And I tread them in mine anger, And I trample them in my fury, Sprinkled is their strength on my garments, And all my clothing I have polluted. |
| 63:4 | For the day of vengeance `is' in my heart, And the year of my redeemed hath come. |
| 63:5 | And I look attentively, and there is none helping, And I am astonished that there is none supporting, And give salvation to me doth mine own arm. And my wrath -- it hath supported me. |
| 63:6 | And I tread down peoples in mine anger, And I make them drunk in my fury, And I bring down to earth their strength. |
| 63:7 | The kind acts of Jehovah I make mention of, The praises of Jehovah, According to all that Jehovah hath done for us, And the abundance of the goodness to the house of Israel, That He hath done for them, According to His mercies, And according to the abundance of His kind acts. |
| 63:8 | And He saith, Only My people they `are', Sons -- they lie not, and He is to them for a saviour. |
| 63:9 | In all their distress `He is' no adversary, And the messenger of His presence saved them, In His love and in His pity He redeemed them, And He doth lift them up, And beareth them all the days of old. |
| 63:10 | And they have rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit, And He turneth to them for an enemy, He Himself hath fought against them. |
| 63:11 | And He remembereth the days of old, Moses -- his people. Where `is' He who is bringing them up from the sea, The shepherd of his flock? Where `is' He who is putting in its midst His Holy Spirit? |
| 63:12 | Leading by the right hand of Moses, the arm of His glory, Cleaving waters from before them, To make to Himself a name age-during. |
| 63:13 | Leading them through the depths, As a horse in a plain they stumble not. |
| 63:14 | As a beast into a valley goeth down, The Spirit of Jehovah causeth him to rest, So hast Thou led Thy people, To make to Thyself a glorious name. |
| 63:15 | Look attentively from the heavens, And see from Thy holy and beauteous habitation, Where `is' Thy zeal and Thy might? The multitude of Thy bowels and Thy mercies Towards me have refrained themselves. |
| 63:16 | For Thou `art' our Father, For Abraham hath not known us, And Israel doth not acknowledge us, Thou, O Jehovah, `art' our Father, Our redeemer from the age, `is' Thy name. |
| 63:17 | Why causest Thou us to wander, O Jehovah, from Thy ways? Thou hardenest our heart from Thy fear, Turn back for Thy servants' sake, The tribes of Thine inheritance. |
| 63:18 | For a little while did Thy holy people possess, Our adversaries have trodden down Thy sanctuary. |
| 63:19 | We have been from of old, Thou hast not ruled over them, Not called is Thy name upon them! |
| 63:1 | Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. |
| 63:2 | Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? |
| 63:3 | I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. |
| 63:4 | For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. |
| 63:5 | And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. |
| 63:6 | And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth. |
| 63:7 | I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. |
| 63:8 | For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. |
| 63:9 | In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. |
| 63:10 | But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. |
| 63:11 | Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him? |
| 63:12 | That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name? |
| 63:13 | That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble? |
| 63:14 | As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name. |
| 63:15 | Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained? |
| 63:16 | Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. |
| 63:17 | O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. |
| 63:18 | The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. |
| 63:19 | We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name. |

| 63:2 | Why is Your clothing red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? |
| 63:3 | I have trodden the winepress, I alone, and no man of the peoples was with Me. And I will tread them in My anger, and trample them in My fury; and their juice shall be spattered on My garments; and I will pollute all My clothes. |
| 63:4 | For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come. |
| 63:5 | And I looked, and no one was helping. And I wondered that no one was upholding. Then My own arm saved for Me, and My fury upheld Me. |
| 63:6 | And I trod down the people in My anger, and made them drunk in My fury. And I poured their juice to the earth. |
| 63:7 | I will mention the mercies of Jehovah, the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah has benefited us, and the great good to the house of Israel, by which He benefited them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His loving-kindness. |
| 63:8 | For He said, Surely they are My people, sons that do not lie, and He is their Savior. |
| 63:9 | In all their affliction, He was not a foe; and the Angel of his Face saved them. In His love and in His pity He redeemed them. And He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. |
| 63:10 | But they rebelled, and provoked His Holy Spirit, so He was turned to be their enemy; He fought against them. |
| 63:11 | Then His people remembered the days past of Moses and His people, saying , Where is He who brought us up from the sea with the shepherd of His flock. Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within him; |
| 63:12 | who led them by Moses' right hand, with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make for Him an everlasting name? |
| 63:13 | He led them through the deeps; like the horse in the wilderness, they did not stumble. |
| 63:14 | As the cattle go down into the valley, so the Spirit of Jehovah caused him to rest; so You led Your people, to make a glorious name for Yourself. |
| 63:15 | Look down from Heaven and peer from the place of Your holiness and your glory. Where is Your zeal and Your might? The stirring of Your affections and Your mercies toward me, are they held back? |
| 63:16 | For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; You, Jehovah, are our Father, our Redeemer; Your name is from everlasting. |
| 63:17 | O Jehovah, why do You make us wander from Your ways? You harden our heart from Your fear. For Your servants' sake, return the tribes of Your inheritance. |
| 63:18 | For a little while Your holy people possessed it. Our enemies have trampled Your sanctuary. |
| 63:19 | We are of old; You never ruled over them. Your name was never called on them. |
