Isaiah - Chapter: 64

>
64:1Didst Thou not rend the heavens? Thou didst come down, From thy presence did mountains flow,
64:2(As fire kindleth stubble -- Fire causeth water to boil,) To make known Thy name to Thine adversaries, From Thy presence do nations tremble.
64:3In Thy doing fearful things -- we expect not, Thou didst come down, From Thy presence did mountains flow.
64:4Even from antiquity `men' have not heard, They have not given ear, Eye hath not seen a God save Thee, He doth work for those waiting for Him.
64:5Thou hast met with the rejoicer And the doer of righteousness, In Thy ways they remember Thee, Lo, Thou hast been wroth when we sin, By them `is' continuance, and we are saved.
64:6And we are as unclean -- all of us, And as a garment passing away, all our righteous acts; And we fade as a leaf -- all of us. And our iniquities as wind do take us away.
64:7And there is none calling in Thy name, Stirring up himself to lay hold on Thee, For Thou hast hid Thy face from us, And thou meltest us away by our iniquities.
64:8And now, O Jehovah, thou `art' our Father, We `are' the clay, and Thou our Framer, And the work of Thy hand -- all of us.
64:9Be not wroth, O Jehovah, very sore, Nor for ever remember iniquity, Lo, look attentively, we beseech Thee, Thy people `are' we all.
64:10Thy holy cities have been a wilderness, Zion a wilderness hath been, Jerusalem a desolation.
64:11Our holy and our beautiful house, Where praise Thee did our fathers, Hath become burnt with fire, And all our desirable things have become a waste.
64:12For these dost Thou refrain Thyself, Jehovah? Thou art silent, and dost afflict us very sore!'

64:1Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence.
64:2As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
64:3When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
64:4For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
64:5Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
64:6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
64:7And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
64:8But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
64:9Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
64:10Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
64:11Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
64:12Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?

64:1Oh that You would tear the heavens and come down, that mountains would quake before You.
64:2As the brushwood fire burns and fire causes water to boil, make known Your name to Your foes, that nations might tremble before You.
64:3When You did terrifying things which we did not look for, You came down; mountains flowed down before You.
64:4And from forever they have not heard; they did not give ear. Eye has not seen a God except You, who works for him who waits for Him.
64:5You meet him who rejoices and works righteousness; they recall You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned. In I them is eternity, we shall be saved.
64:6But we are all as the unclean thing , and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruous cloth. And we all fade as a leaf, and like the wind our iniquities take us away.
64:7And there is not one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us, and have melted us away into the hand of our iniquities.
64:8But now, Jehovah, You are our Father. We are the clay, and You are our Former; yea, we all are Your handiwork.
64:9Do not be extremely angry, Jehovah, and do not remember iniquity forever. Behold! look, please; all of us are Your people.
64:10Your holy cities are a wilderness; Zion is a wilderness; Jerusalem is a desolation.
64:11The house of our holiness and our beauty where our fathers praised You has become a burning of fire, and all our pleasant things have become a ruin.
64:12Will You restrain Yourself over these things , Jehovah? Will you be silent and sorely afflict us?
