| 66:1 | Thus sayeth the Lorde: Heauen is my seate, & the earth is my fote stole. Where shall nowe the house stande, that ye wyll buylde vnto me? And where shall be the place, that I wyll dwell in? |
| 66:2 | As for these thynges, my hande hath made them all, & they are all created, sayeth the Lorde. Whych of them shall I then regarde? Euen him that is pore and of a lowly troubled sprete, & standeth in awe of my wordes. |
| 66:3 | For who so slayeth an oxe for me, doth me so greate dishonoure, as he that kylleth a man. He that kylleth a shepe for me, knetcheth a dogge. He that bryngeth me meatoffrynges, offreth swynes bloude: Who so maketh me a memoryall of incense, prayseth the thynge that is vnryght. Yet take they soch wayes in hande, and their soule delyteth in these abhominacyons. |
| 66:4 | Therfore wyll I also haue pleasure in laughynge them to scorne, and the thynge that they feare, wyll I brynge vpon them. For when I called, no man gaue answere: when I spake, they wolde not heare: But did wickednesse before myne eyes, and chose the thynges that displease me. |
| 66:5 | Heare the worde of God all ye that feare the thynge which he speaketh. Youre brethren that hate you, and cast you out for my names sake, saye: The Lorde is haynouse against vs, but you shall se him in ioye when they shalbe confounded. |
| 66:6 | Then shall be heard agret noyse from the cytie and the temple, the voyce of the Lorde, that wyll rewarde, & recompence his enemyes: |
| 66:7 | lyke as when a wyfe bringeth forth a man chylde, or euer she suffre the payne of the byrth & anguyshe of the trauayle. |
| 66:8 | Who euer hearde or sawe soche thynges? doth the grounde beare in one daye? or are the people borne all at once, as Syon traueyled in childe byrth and bare her sonnes? |
| 66:9 | For thus sayeth the Lorde. Am I he that maketh other to beare, and beare not my selfe? Am not I he that beareth and maketh baren? sayeth thy God. |
| 66:10 | Reioyse with Ierusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that loue her. Be ioyfull with her, all ye that mourned for her. |
| 66:11 | For ye shall sucke comforte out of her brestes, and be satisfyed. Ye shall taste, and haue delyte in the plenteousnesse of her power. |
| 66:12 | For thus sayeth the Lord: beholde, I wyll lett peace into her, lyke a water floude, and the myght of the Heythen lyke a flowynge streame. Then shall ye sucke, ye shall be borne vpon her sydes, and be ioyfull vpon her knees. |
| 66:13 | For lyke as a chylde is comforted of his mother, so shall I comforte you, and ye shalbe comforted in Ierusalem. |
| 66:14 | And when ye se thys, youre herte shall reioyse and youre bones shall floryshe lyke an herbe. Thus shall the hande of the Lorde be knowne amonge hys seruauntes, and hys indignacyon amonge hys enemyes. |
| 66:15 | For beholde, the Lorde shall come with fyre, & hys charet shall be lyke a whorle wynde, that he maye recompence his vengeaunce in his wrath and hys indignacyon with the flame of fyre. |
| 66:16 | For the Lorde shall iudge all flesh wyth the fyre and with his swerde, and there shalbe a greate nombre slayne of the Lorde. |
| 66:17 | Soch as haue made them selues holy and cleane in the gardens, & those that haue eaten swynes flesh, myce, and other abhominacyons, shalbe taken awaye together, sayeth the Lorde. |
| 66:18 | For I wyll come to gather all people & tonges with their workes and ymaginacyons: these shall come, and se my glory. |
| 66:19 | Unto them shall I geue a token, and sende certayne of them (that be delyuered) amonge the Gentiles: into Cilycia, Affryca, and Lydia (where men can handle bowes) into Italye and also Greke lande. The Iles farre of, that haue not herde speake of me, and haue not sene my glory, shall preache my prayse amonge the Gentiles, |
| 66:20 | and shall brynge all youre brethren for an offrynge vnto the Lorde, out of all the people, vpon horses, charrettes and horse lytters, vpon Mules and cartes to Ierusalem my holy hyll (sayeth the Lorde) lyke as the chyldre of Israel brynge the offrynge in cleane vessels, to the house of the Lorde. |
| 66:21 | And I shall take out certayne of them for to be prestes and leuites, sayeth the Lorde. |
| 66:22 | For lyke as the newe heauen and the newe earth which I wyll make, shalbe fast stablisshed by me: (sayeth the Lorde) So shall youre sede and youre name contynue, |
| 66:23 | and there shalbe a newe Moone for the other, and a newe Sabbath for the other, and all fleshe shall come to worshippe before me (sayeth the Lorde) |
| 66:24 | And they shall go forth and loke vpon the caryons of them that haue transgressed agaynst me. For their wormes shall not dye, nether shall their fyre be quenched, & all flesh shall abhorre them. |

| 66:3 | He that offrith an oxe, is as he that sleeth a man; he that sleeth a scheep, is as he that brayneth a dogge; he that offrith an offryng, is as he that offrith swynes blood; he that thenketh on encense, is as he that blessith an idol; thei chesiden alle thes thingis in her weies, and her soule delitide in her abhomynaciouns. |
| 66:4 | Wherfor and Y schal chese the scornyngis of hem, and Y schal brynge to hem tho thingis whiche thei dredden; for Y clepide, and noon was that answeride; Y spak, and thei herden not; and thei diden yuel bifor myn iyen, and chesiden tho thingis whiche Y nolde. |
| 66:5 | Here ye the word of the Lord, whiche quaken at his word; youre britheren hatynge you, and castynge a wey for my name, seiden, The Lord be glorified, and we schulen se in youre gladnesse; forsothe thei schulen be schent. |
| 66:6 | The vois of the puple fro the citee, the vois fro the temple, the vois of the Lord yeldynge a reward to hise enemyes. |
| 66:7 | Bifor that sche trauelide of child, sche childide; bifor that the sorewe of hir child beryng cam, sche childide a sone. |
| 66:8 | Who herde euere suche a thing, and who siy a thing lijk this? Whether the erthe schal trauele of child in o dai, ether whether a folk schal be childide togidere? For whi Sion trauelede of child, and childide hir sones. |
| 66:9 | Whether that Y `my silf that make othere to bere child, schal not ber child? seith the Lord. Whether Y that yyue generacioun to othere men, schal be bareyn? seith thi Lord God. |
| 66:10 | Be ye glad with Jerusalem, and alle ye that louen that, make ful out ioye ther ynne; alle ye that mourenen on that Jerusalem, make ye ioye with it in ioie; |
| 66:11 | that bothe ye souke, and be fillid of the tetis and coumfort therof, that ye mylke, and flowe in delicis, of al maner glorie therof. |
| 66:12 | For whi the Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal bowe doun on it, as a flood of pees, and as a flowynge streem the glorie of hethene men, which ye schulen souke; ye schulen be borun at tetis, and on knees thei schulen speke plesauntly to you. |
| 66:13 | As if a modir spekith faire to ony child, so Y schal coumforte you, and ye schulen be coumfortid in Jerusalem. |
| 66:14 | Ye schulen se, and youre herte schal haue ioie, and youre boonys schulen buriowne as an erbe. And the hond of the Lord schal be knowun in hise seruauntis, and he schal haue indignacioun to hise enemyes. |
| 66:15 | For lo! the Lord schal come in fier, and as a whirlwynd hise charis, to yelde in indignacioun hise strong veniaunce, and his blamyng in the flawme of fier. |
| 66:16 | For whi the Lord schal deme in fier, and in hys swerd to ech fleisch; and slayn men of the Lord schulen be multiplied, |
| 66:17 | that weren halewid, and gessiden hem cleene, in gardyns aftir o yate with ynne; that eten swynes fleisch, and abhomynacioun, and a mows, thei schulen be waastid togidere, seith the Lord. |
| 66:18 | Forsothe Y come to gadere togidere the werkis of hem, and the thouytis of hem, with alle folkis and langagis; and thei schulen come, and schulen se my glorie. |
| 66:19 | And Y schal sette a signe in hem, and Y schal sende of hem that ben sauyd to hethene men, in to the see, in to Affrik, and in to Liddia, and to hem that holden arowe, in to Italie, and Greek lond, to ilis fer, to hem that herden not of me, and sien not my glorie. And thei schulen telle my glorie to hethene men, |
| 66:20 | and thei schulen brynge alle youre britheren of alle folkis a yifte to the Lord, in horsis, and charis, and in literis, and in mulis, and in cartis, to myn hooli hil, Jerusalem, seith the Lord; as if the sones of Israel bryngen a yifte in a cleene vessel in to the hous of the Lord. |

| 66:22 | For as newe heuenes and newe erthe, whiche Y make to stonde bifore me, seith the Lord, so youre seed schal stonde, and youre name. |
| 66:23 | And a monethe schal be of monethe, and a sabat of sabat; ech man schal come for to worschipe bifore my face, seith the Lord. |
| 66:24 | And thei schulen go out, and schulen se the careyns of men, that trespassiden ayens me; the worm of hem schal not die, and the fier of hem schal not be quenchid; and thei schulen be `til to fillyng of siyt to ech man. |
